Oceanaire Seafood Room - Dallas

Everything was great - as always! It's our go to spot for girl's night out and we always love it! Bryson was a funny and attentive waiter!
Service was great! Food was meh. The coconut hot pot was way too sweet, the signature chef tuna dish had little flavor. No wows in the food but we had a wonderful waitress.
Food and bar were outstanding.
Server was not up to par for a restaurant of this quality. We expected a better course pace, check ups, and table clearance.
Wanted to give it another chance after a trend of declining service. Wish I didn’t. This time Mohammed was our server and he did not have the experience, knowledge, nor the attention to detail to be working at a place like Oceanaire. Made what would have been a nice meal an extremely frustrating evening. He did NOTHING unless asked and then the proverbial light bulb went off when asked for things and then he realized he probably should have done these things on his own... like when you order three different types of oysters, as the server be able to identify them vs. just saying “they are all there and walk away”. Not providing tools for cracking a shells when ordering crab... I don’t even want to waste another minute complaining about him. My time is more valuable than that. Big thing is the service keeps getting worse to the point it doesn’t justify the rest of the experience.
For the actual price the portions are small, our server failed at doing his job. I waited 45 minutes for my drink and he checked on us once in the 2 hours we spent there. Maybe because we looked like a young couple but never judge a book by its cover, I am normally a 50% tipper but he lost out on that. Overall experience I will never go back
Great food, premium price. Staff is very warm and hospitable. Couple minor things on this trip, dirty napkin left at the table when we were seated wasn't ever picked up; and had a server clearing dishes from the table but was too quick about it, I still had my fork in my hand when he took the plate. Beautiful restaurant and ambience.
Made a last minute valentines reservation. Arrived early but table ready on time. Waiter was superb. Despite the rush and the long day he was superb. I'd request him every time. Food was as expected--fresh and well prepared. My son had Swordfish, I had halibut and my wife enjoyed the Mahi.
Oceanaire is my go-to seafood stop when I'm in Dallas. Continues to exceed expectations!
The food was simply amazing!! I took my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day and it was our first time visiting the restaurant. Customer service was great from start to finish, and our waiter was nothing less than perfect. I definitely recommend the lobster cakes and the shrimp scampi......we were completely satisfied. Also, the setting and atmosphere was incredible
Excellent as always! Food was perfect, service was fantastic.
Waiters and staff were amazing! Food was outstanding as usual. Very good atmosphere especially with it being full during Valentine's day. We were seated immediately as we had a reservation.
The presentation of the food was extremely good but the flavor of it was lacking! The salmon was tasteless. Your vegetables are excellent.
Always great food and dependable service. A sure favorite of ours.
Went there last year for Valentine's day.
This year - we got engaged.
This is a nice place for a date night. The ambiance is nice, and the food is really good. I was happy that a manager came by to check on our service. That shows engagement. This place is expensive. A shrimp cocktail with five shrimp is $21! Really the only other negative, was that the hostess seemed confused and unfriendly even though we had reservations. She needs some coaching on first impressions.
We went for Valentines Day and ordered appetizers, meal, dessert & wine. The service was outstanding from the hostess greeting, server and water/bus boy. Really appreciated the manager checking on us too. The appetizers were good- escargot & raw oysters. However the oysters were not the best quality - small and stringy. The filet and lobster (a special of 10oz filet & lobsters for 2) had good flavor however the steak was thin for a filet and mine had a strange taste. Mine was not cut from the same steak as my husband’s - and was even thinner. The desserts - creme brûlée & root beer float were awesome! Overall we had a great evening- just was a bit sad about the quality of my steak and my husband’s oysters. We will be back!
Extremely disappointing dining experience. We were seated up on the second story loft area. The entire table and floor shook when everyone walked by. It made it horrible to just sit and have a conversation. The waiter was unfriendly and made us feel very rushed. He did not explain the menu neither did he take any interest in making any suggestions. The food was extremely salty. Our filet mignon was cooked in correctly. Instead of firing a new piece, they just threw the same piece under the salamander broiler. The lobster was raw. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Great service and nice quiet atmosphere. Staff was courteous and professional. The menu selection offered a lot of variety. Maybe a little salty on the blackened redfish, but overall the food was tasty.
Many other restaurants in the area that are just as good and less expensive.
We had a 7:30 PM reservation on a Wednesday evening. We arrived 20 minutes early and got seated right away. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about various menu items we inquired about. The food quality, taste and presentation was excellent. Dress code is business casual but isn’t a requirement. I was told as long as you’re not wearing flip flops and a tank top, it’s ok. We will go back again.
Valentines Day dinner
We have eaten here before and have enjoyed the experience and this visit did not disappoint we my wife had crab cakes and I had the wild Alaskan halibut both were excellent
They had a couple of large parties seated ahead of so the meal was a little longer than expected but we enjoyed our drinks and when the meal came we enjoyed had bred pudding for desert.
We would recommend
This was an overall good visit, but we felt that our waiter was a bit disconnected. This comment stems from a lack of warmth we felt when engaging with our waiter. Nonetheless, historically (and today’s visit included) the food has never disappointed me. Today’s visit was an indulging of the jumbo shrimp cocktail, NY clam chowder, crab cakes, Chilean sea bass, Brussels sprouts, and truffle mashed potatoes and all of it was absolutely great. We’ll be back.
We love the restaurant...server was just ok.
Great food as always! Great service as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food and service was outstanding. We knew it was ala cartel but wanted to try it anyway. We have gotten more for our money else where, however, the fish is about as fresh as you can get, the food was outstanding, our waitress was amazing, we would back just for the blackened halibut
We have been going to Oceanaire for a long time but it has been a while. The last few times the food was OK but nothing great. This time was VASTLY different. The food was much improved and the addition of an actual kid’s menu was an improvement also. I don’t know what happened between the last time and now but it was a welcomed improvement!
with great group of friends - and service and food/wine service was perfect - thank you
As is almost always the case, the experience was outstanding. First time that I have ever had chicken fried lobster. I highly recommend it as a boy from West Texas who grew uop on chicken fried steak.
Our server was very good and the food is always terrific! We asked for a quiet area and the hostess found one! All great! For a quick business dinner
Usually when we attend high end dining I’m usually still hungry as my lunch experience has been smallest portions for higher quality, but Oceanaire provided pretty good size
Great overall experience! We will be back!
We had a wonderful dinner with friends celebrating life. So much to choose from and awesome wine list. Food was cooked perfect and if you have never had Chicken Fried Lobster well your in for a treat. Don't forget to start with the backed Alaska because "life is uncertain!". Thank you to our waiter Thomas, he guided us well though our choices and made excellent suggestions.
In town for a conference. I am not much of the party type, and stay pretty close to the hotel when I travel, which is a pretty decent amount. The food was excellent and there was enough variety for me and some work mates to eat there 4 nights in a row.
Service was amazing. Great serving size will definitely come back when in the Dallas area!
Great food and service
A really nice dinner with great service. We enjoyed it! Thank you!
Service was off, especially given the price. At $125 per person (before drinks), food and service should be outstanding, not just ok. Very disappointing as the other times we have visited Oceanaire it has been excellent.
Overall: “Meh”. Fresh fish is why we came here. But the fish was not fresh, the portion was small and the presentation/garnish was a slice of lemon. Ho hum. The $11 Caesar salads were no better than a bag of lettuce with an homage to fromage on top. Our truffle mashed potatoes had that “gray” look and were not mashed but loose and so salty we could not eat them. At this point we decided to cut bait and skipped dessert. Service was attentive but not sophisticated. There are plenty of better restaurants in The metroplex where you can spend that $150. Move on.
Excellent food and customer service. We definitely will be back.
