Overall, nice restaurant. Nice atmosphere and good servers. Food was good but not outstanding.
We were a party of 7 and received great service. Food is always excellent!
Friendly and professional staff; Excellent and delicious food; Always a wonderful dining experience!
Wonderful dining experience!
Best gumbo & crabcakes in Dallas & we eat at fine dining all over Dallas. It is our go to place for date night just because even when it’s full, you can still talk at a reasonable tone. Staff is always professional. Drinks are always great. Great choices in seafood for Dallas & steaks are good. Love the salted caramel martini for after dinner.
It was my wedding anniversary
we enjoy this resturant very much the food was outstanding so was the service
The food and service are always amazing and as this is my husbands favorite dining establishment we bring out of town guests here often.
This time we were disappointed- first we didn’t receive the yummy vegetable plate until we asked for it. Then when we didn’t receive the fabulous sourdough bread, and asked about that- they said they were “out” as the weekend prior (Christmas) was busy. No other appetizer or option was offered as a replacement to this missing portion of our meal. Then my drink was served in a Martini glass that had a large chunk out of the RIM! If I hadn’t seen it- it could have cut my lip! How does neither the bartender or server not see this? And they weren’t busy?!
Just not up to the Oceanaire standards we usually receive- disappointing!
I picked what I thought was a good place for a Christmas dinner with my wife, who loves seafood, and my sister-in-law, who loves steak. While I understand Christmas on a Monday is hard to stock, they only had 1 steak remaining to be served at a 7:00 reservation. The seafood was excellent, as was the 1 steak that my sister-in-law ordered, but I was stuck with appetizers since there wasn't another steak available at any price.
Out of most steaks, oysters, and shrimp...slow service...Christmas day dinner. Should have planned better.
They ran out of food and the food quality was very average.
Perfect service and food! Always a winner!
Great service! The food was fantastic and the ambiance is always perfect for any occasion!
We dropped by for a beverage and snack before an early Christmas dinner. I had the seafood gumbo which was even more fantastic once I added a little spice to it and my guest had seafood chopped salad which was also very tasty!
All in all, great visit!
Fabulous food and service.
Great food and superb service. They made our Christmas meal very special!
Last minute Christmas Eve dinner on a very busy night. Fish was fresh and delicious. Appetizer tuna poke had too much tomato used as filler and vegetables were not fresh or well prepared. Disappointing for a top end resturant with high prices. Been there several times with varied experiences. Need to get more consistent.
Very fresh seafood and some types of fish you don't see at other places. Very well prepared. Service was great. Special occasion place due to high prices and more wine over $100 per bottle than under but you won't be disappointed in the overall experience.
Disappointed - used to be a local favorite. Got stuck upstairs, where the service seemed to be challenged to deal with distance from kitchen. Food was generally overcooked. Chicken Fried Lobster sounded great - overcooked, batter too dark, meat rubbery. Filet and shrimp - shrimp overcooked, steak had the right color but had the texture of a $3 hunk of grocery store meat marked down after its sell by date. Thankfully they comp'ed this entree as the waited saw how bad it looked.
Oysters - used to be our main reason for coming. They were tiny, and at $4 a pop that's disappointing.
My wife ordered an interesting-sounding drink that was listed under martinis - it came out in a wine glass with 'sonic' ice and a straw - certainly not a martini-style drink.
Had to ask twice for the bread and vegetable tray. Had to ask twice for some lemons to go in water. Ordered wine after appetizers arrived. Wine arrived not only after main courses arrived, but after I finished mine.
Great seafood places are hard to come by in Dallas - this used to be one, but apparently no longer.
My first time there. I went with my daughter for Christmas Eve dinner. It was busy but we were seated with no wait the service was very good and the food was very good as well.
We didn’t like our table since every waiter kept on bumping into our chairs. We moved the table about a foot which made it a little better. The food was terrific as always. We usually request to eat up stairs and forgot to this time. Overall we had a nice evening.
Best customer service I have ever received. My daughter was so excited about the special treatment for hER birthday. Name on the menu, baked Alaska was superb. Meal exceptional, great ambiance
Ryan has assembled an incredible staff, most notably Executive Sous Chef Christian Stewart who is as talented as he is devoted to making every experience truly special. EXCELLENT cuisine, beautifully presented, superlative seasoning and each entree is always prepared to its peak of perfection!
Great service and excellent food. Always a wonderful evening!
The food was excellent, especially the lobster Mac and baked Alaska! Our group had the halibut and scallops which again met expectations. Oceanaire remains as our "go to" seafood restaurant in Dallas.
The food is always good. We ordered chicken chops, stuffed flounder, mushrooms, And sweet potato. Everything was really good but this we potato was a little dry. We also ordered a vinaigrette salad which was good. We had a great time as we do every year celebrating our anniversary there!
The food always taste amazing and the staff is professional and attentive.
Always good. Fresh, delicious. Nathan was our waiter and I definitely suggest asking for him. We ordered "out of the box" this time and went with a curry Halubut in a seasonal butternut squad and acorn squash . It was very tasty but I'd have preferred a simply grilled fish with the squash as a side dish. The seasonal cranberry and prosecco apetetif was fabulous, not to sweet (I left off the sugared rim) and not too tart.
We always enjoy this restaurant .
Great food , our waitress was very sharp on every single detail , at the time to recomend , to bring the drinks and food , very good experience , must try is Baked Alaska dessert
We love Oceanaire Seafood Room. We have visited 5 locations and have spent our anniversary there every year for the past 12. We have yet to be disappointed with the quality of the food and service. Service has been the best part of the visit and every member of the Oceanaire team is very personable and courteous.
We have always loved this restaurant until our experience this past Saturday. We believe we were shorted on our cocktails. The chef’s choice for oysters were 5 tiny ones for $21.00. The value of the food has gone down vs. the price all across the menu. Not sure we’ll be back.
The manager was somewhat rude to me when I mentioned that the valet service was very bad. His response was sarcastic in that he hears that all night, every night, but he can't do anything about it. I later heard him being rude to someone who thought they could walk in and get a seat without a reservation. It was just a mistake by the customer who was unfamiliar with the restaurant. The person told him that the restaurant was very nice, and his response was "I know, that's why I work here." His tone said more than his words. Food was above average but a little bit over priced. And as I mentioned earlier, the valet service was horrible. Incredibly long line, then told that the only valet available was overnight parking for $30.00. This was at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday. It took twenty minutes for valet to retrieve our car once we were finished with dinner. Overall, I would not recommend for the price.
Great ambient and good food. Our waitor was very nice. The banana bread pudding was amazing.
Swordfish was hammered. Sharing sides, there was only enough potatoes for 2 people. We bought 3 sides but the amount in the bowls felt very chincy .
Seafood not cooked
My go to seafood place in Dallas. Menu printed daily. Outstanding salads, oysters, fresh and simple fish.
Oceanaire is my favorite restaurant, I go there for each birthday and a nice quiet dinner with my wife.
It's our 11 year to do Xmas shopping stay at Westin and eat at Oceanair. Food is always fresh and manager/wait staff are top notch.
Always a wonderful experience at the Oceanaire. The service and food are excellent!
We've dined at Oceaaire many times and most of our experiences were good. The most recent visit was below par. Halibut was a little overcooked. The portions were smaller than normal. The restaurant was not crowded but we felt rushed.
Taylor took great care of us and we appreciate his very knowledgeable suggestions and recommendations.
