Oceanaire Seafood Room - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
Reservation for four at 6:45 on a Monday. Atmosphere was great. Food was good but overpriced. Small portions. $20 for two scallops and one was very very tiny. Sides are sized for two maybe three people. Not enough for the four of us. The lobster mac-n-cheese was not available! Which is what the birthday boy was wanting. Whomp. They were also out of four desserts. But the bread pudding was fantastic! Server was friendly but scarce. Charged us for three Arnold Palmers that we did not order. Check your bill! Had two apps, four entrees, two desserts and a bottle of wine. Spent a little over $400. Staff seemed to work well together. Crowd was loud that night. Still had a good time.
We ordered oysters, chargrilled with spinach, cheese and bacon, and though I didn’t have any my table said they were not that good. The crab cake was delicious. I had the flounder Florentine, and the fish was nice, but I do not think so would order that again.
The Oceanaire martini was not very good at all, I would not recommended that.
There is bacon on a lot of the dishes, so if you do not eat pork, pay attention.
Multiple courses, all delivered with precision and follow up, drink notes, etc at the top of the class. Oceanaire Dallas has always excelled for us. Many, Many fine Dallas dining choices but Oceanaire is our go to for the people who get it right and the outstanding menu that never fails.
I was recommended your restaurant by a friend & sad to say I was highly disappointed. I was there celebrating my fiancé birthday & the waiter l had seem as if he was disappointed he had to wait on us. I watched his interaction with the table behind us, he was friendly with them, offering different things to try or just engaged in some way. My fiance stepped away, I told him we were celebrating his birthday & he disregarded the entire conversation. I wasn’t expecting anything free but to at least acknowledge what I said. What was more disappointing was the table he was so engaged with was celebrating a birthday & he made sure he acknowledged as a brought out a little dessert with a candle.
Friends from CT were visiting and this was their first time here. I was disappointed at the level of service from our server, Anthony. The very first greeting and interaction came from the server assistant (SA). Too bad we couldn’t just directly tip the SA instead. The SA waited on us better than Anthony did. The SA made sure we always had water and would remove any clutter. Basically he did his job. We waited about 10-15 minutes before we were actually addressed. Actual ordering was longer. The longest we even saw our server was ordering the wine and food. Outside of that, he was non-existent.
Aside from the service, the food was GREAT!
We made the reservation hoping to enjoy the October Lobster Fest. Two tails for 39.00. Sounded great and we all love lobster. When we got there they told us they did not get their supply of lobsters. As a result we had to settle for something else.
Hard to believe they were not prepared for the demand.
Crab cakes were our second choice. They were OK but not anywhere as good as what Del Frisco serves.
I am sure we will go back but will not count on any of their promotions.
I have been to Oceanaire on several occasions. I have found the food to be excellent and fresh, the waitstaff is polite and knowledgeable about the menu. Oceanaire has an extensive wine list. I discovered a wine I have never tasted which now is my favorite. Parking is a bit of a hassle due to it being part of the Galleria. But there are several parking garages nearby and valet.
I had the salmon with the "dynamite" topping. It was amazing. It was cooked perfectly! My husband had the filet, black and blue. The steak was cooked to perfection and he was able to cut it with a butter knife. The truffle whipped potatoes were amazing as well.
Our waiter was helpful and humorous. But not so much as to be annoying.
Went for my daugther's birthday. I did not say it was her BD ahead of time but the must have heard us when we toasted. After that we were treated amazingly, not that we weren't before hand, but this was special. We were given a new menu with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" on it, and of course, desert. A flaming desert! The food was excellent, the wine fabulous, the atmosphere great. Applause to all involved.
The food was INCREDIBLE! It was a bit noisy - because it was red river rivalry weekend, but even with it being noisy the vibe was amazing. The filet mignon or shrimp wasn’t cooked right at first but the Sous Chef was kind enough to bring it back properly cooked in a timely manner. We mentioned it was our third anniversary and it was printed across the menu - very cute.
Food was amazing. The swordfish was top notch. Chicken fried lobster was a nice twist. The waitress was attentive at first but disappeared after she took our order. We ordered a bottle of chardonnay and there was a tiny gnat in my wine. I would have asked for a clean glass but couldn't flag her down. The Baked Alaska was also delicious but the poor service and people dressed in hockey jerseys brought down my score for ambiance and overall rating.
Never disappoints. This is a location we come to periodically and can say we have excellent meals each time. The fish is always fresh, the preparation is remarkable, and the salads are always fresh. If you like desserts, the Baked Alaska is always a plus to any meal. Excellent wine list and cocktails are tasty as well.
Nice ambiance. Food is outstanding. Location is away from the noise of McKinney Ave. server Sarah was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and did. It rush us at all. Can't wait to go back and will be requesting her. Went for husband's birthday and were well taken care of.
We eat at this restaurant frequently. A favorite for special occasions. The restaurant was very busy and obviously understaffed. We were seated for 15 minutes or more before we saw our waiter. Took our drink and food order at the same time because it had taken so long to come to our table. Salads came before our drinks came from the bar. Three of our guests had steak and two ordered fish. The steaks were excellent but the fish was lukewarm at best. We were celebrating a victory for our daughter and the experience was a big disappointment.
I took my sister here for her Birthday and the food was great and the service was outstanding! Thomas was our waiter and not one moment went by that he didn't have my water class full. He also made sure that my sister was treated special for her birthday with Alaska Bake for desert. He was very friendly, professional, and attentive but not overbearing, which was greatly appreciated. It was a great dining experience, we had the crab cake for the appetizer with our salads. We ordered the Mahi Mahi Dynamite and the Chicken Chop...both entrees were phenomenal. Price was on the VERY high end....Dinner plus tip and two cocktails was $250.00. Definitely a place to go for special occasions unless your expensing it on company business with clients.
We had Clam chowder & Seafood gumbo app’s very good. Escargo(so/so) a couple were grainy. Wife had Crab Cakes entree, very good , very light on the breading. I had Flounder Florentine, a little dry. Creme Brûlée for dessert. Very creamy and light carmelization, very good. Waiter attentive & friendly. We had large group of business men seated next to us but because of openness of restaurant noise not an issue.
