Quality food and excellent service!
No one stopped by for >15 minutes following being seated, other than water delivery. Waited over 30 minutes to get a glass of wine. Forgot one of the salads. A second garden salad was just leaves, and nothing else. King crab is $95 per leg! But it was tasty at least.
Expected better food quality and service for the price. The fish was overcooked and dry, this should never happen at a high end restaurant. Portion sizes were fine, service was awkward as they often attempted to clear our dishes before we were done, usually helps to ask first. Waitstaff reaching over the table was strange as well. Would not visit again.
Everything was sooo AWESOME!
My son and I enjoyed our meals. Dinner was exquisite. NY strip cooked to perfection. Crab cakes out of this world. Bridget paired a wonderful Pinot Grigio. A wonderful evening with my son. Thank you Oceanaire.
The Streak was fantastic but the Alaskan Crab was OK and smaller than expected.
Great business dinner. Food was great. Service (Candy the server) was outstanding. Total great experience.
If you want elegant service and settings, this is the place to go. Not only do you have a wide choice of entries, but the ambiance is top rated. No noise levels that make you think you’re inside a drum; rather a soft background where you can actually enjoy a conversation with your dinner partner. And, the food choices are ample. Highly recommended!
The Clam Chowder was very bland compared to the last time I was there. The Shrimp and grits was very oily. My wife and daughter got the halibut and both were outstanding.
Food and service were excellent. Prices were high.
Excellent family birthday dinner. Started with an “off the menu” seafood tower (oysters, shrimp and king crab legs) which was spectacular. The Big Eye Hawaiian Tuna was perfectly seared and was delicious. Several people had beef entrees and raved about them. Last but not least, our server, Raquel, was top notch; professional, attentive and very personable.
We tried some different dishes this time and we had no regrets. The loaded mash is amazing. The lobster Mac was exquisite and the beer from tap was SUPER fresh. We skipped desert because we were do full. The calamari is also good.
My only complaint is how oily the food was, but that's how it is when eating out.
We had a great time celebrating our friend Jen. Thank you
Really poor service. Oysters took over 45 minutes to reach table. Seemed to be struggling from both a kitchen and service perspective. Even bar service was really slow. Entrees were quite small and overall value was not there. Was really hoping for more. Would not return.
The wait staff was attentive, the ambiance pleasant, the food outstanding, including the desserts. It was an enjoyable evening with friends.
Birthday dinner celebration, server didn’t discuss specials or give recommendations for what was good.
Server continued to mess up drink orders, dinner orders - what was ordered to be on our steaks and just seemed overall overwhelmed.
Totally understand with Covid that staff are hard to come by, but from start to finish our group felt like we were a burden to be there and have any questions.
Celebrating a family birthday. Food and waitress were great.
Extensive menu options enables diners to try something new. The meals and flavors were good but not memorable. Great location for pre-concert or game meals if you want a quieter option than offered by the North End.
Food was good, but the atmosphere was kinda dull in there . Needed some piano or something to get a vibe going. Sort of flat. Food was good , service was ok.
This a great place to have tasty quality food. A bit noisy during peak times for old ears to enjoy conversation. Better to book early or late for quieter ambiance.
Overall an enjoyable experience. Food was excellent and we really enjoyed it. Service was poor but given the pressures today I understand the challenges. Hopefully we get back to normal soon.
Great food and cocktails! Recommend the lobster Mac and cheese and jumbo sea scallops casino.
Went last week, liked it so much we went back. Ordered a couple of the same dishes. Not consistent in preparation. Summer salad was missing the toasted almonds. Increased portion size (makes me wonder why it was less last time) but wasn't seasoned as well. Their key lime pie sadly had no meringue and was sickeningly sweet. A few newly ordered dishes lived up to my previous meal with them. Would still go back. But not the 5 star review I gave from my 1st experience.
Very much enjoyed for my grandmothers 80th
Food delicious one of the best meals ever had!
The food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful!
Food was delicious, service was great and setting was attractive. Tables well spaced, not sure if this was because of covid or this was normal layout. Even though we ordered from the dine-out Boston menu, the portions were large and selections adequate for all tastes. I had haddock and partner had salmon, both delicious.
The clam chowder was cold the haddock had no seasoning. The best thing was my Sangria.
I couldn’t find any clams in the chowder, just diced potatoes. :-(
My Filet Mignonette was done perfectly. I object to being served bread and a relish dish without being told that it was an additional charge. Not cool.
The food was amazing and full of flavor. The shrimp and grits are always delicious. We tried the lobster fried rice.. 👌🏽, delicious! The Mac & cheese and crab cakes never disappoint either. Oceanaire is one of my top restaurants in Boston to dine in!
Second time going to that restaurant and I am a little disappointed. The food was dry and too salty :(
GreT food and service
Under staffed; slow service; overcooked food. Bartender served as our waiter. 20 minutes between receiving cocktails and having our dinner order taken.
Greeted when we entered the restaurant. All staffs were nice and provided good customer service. Fried calamari was good but a little bit oily. Steaks and mash potatoes was awesome. My chocolate torte was ok but my friend’s key lime pie was bad. Overall, I loved the ambiance and staffs and will return to try some seafood next time.
We were visiting Boston for my birthday and chose the Oceanaire for dinner. We were excited at such an enticing menu. We started with drinks, mussels and the scallops. The food was good, my drink was too tart my friends was good. We then each ordered the clam chowder which was delicious. But to our surprise our entrees came out immediately after our soup. We rushed through eating our soup so our dinner wouldn't be too cold. The server did not time our courses well. The shrimp and grits were delicious but the king crab was way over done. I wonder if it was left waiting in the kitchen. The meat crumbled with the shell so it made it difficult to take a bite without getting a bit of the shell too. We witnessed the server smack a server assistant's had out of the way while he was setting down some extra plates, saying I will do it. That is so terribly rude. From that moment on we felt uncomfortable. Our experience was overall fair but definitely had some very low points.
Had a delicious dinner! Our waitress, Bridget, was exceptional, very attentive and courteous!! It was our second time dining here but we will be back for sure!!
One of the best Dine Out Boston menus. Great food and service in beautiful setting.
Service was the least memorable, food was mediocre for the price, one of the most disappointing dining experience at a fine dining restaurant.
So happy I had a chance to eat here! Francisco was a great host! Very knowledgeable of the menu, and provided amazing service. Definitely will come back
