Love the night. The food was amazing. The servers were really attentive and great. The jumbo shrimp cocktail and the baked alaskan. Cannot wait to go back for more.
Outstanding service, outstanding food! Made for a great birthday dinner for family visiting from out of town ! Highly recommended!!
We were in Boston for the end of our vacation and dinner at the Oceanaire was a superior experience. Would definitely recommend this to any traveler to Boston that wants to eat at a fine dining restaurant.
We did enjoy ourselves very much due to the ambiance and service. I was there a few years back, and remember the food being outstanding. I have to say, that it was somewhat disappointing. My fish was overcooked. My son had the steak and shrimp. For the price, it was a small steak and even less shrimp. Inspite of the mediocre entrees, the salads, dessert and whipped potatoes were delicious.
Good value and good food. Service was excellent. The local lobster was sweet and tasty.
Reliably delicious, prompt and courteous service. Thank you!
Fantastic service and the menu had a large variety of selections. The staff were friendly and the drinks were terrific.
Fruits de mer 🦞 de qualité, attention au service... Attente de citron 🍋 pour eau gazeuse après 2 demandes, jamais servi :( Plat pour enfant très épicé 🌶 Très beau restaurant et de bons plats dans l’ensemble.
Scallops dry and other fish where just okay. Hashbrown potatoes overcooked.
Foods was delicious service was impeccable had a wonderful evening will come back!
The Oceanaire Seafood Room was beyond outstanding. The setting in an old bank is beautiful with a very comfortable and soothing ambience. The service is top shelf - courteous, polite, attentive, not at all intrusive, and knowledgeable. The food was some of the very best seafood that we have ever had, ultra fresh, meticulously prepared and presented, and memorably flavorful. The wine list is extensive and robust. We can't wait to go back and to bring our family with us.
I come back to Oceanaire again and again. Food is consistent, service is fine - they do not hover, and they meet and greet you immediately. Seafood is always fresh and salads are great for lunch. Today we asked for something off-menu and it was happily served. I think a little pricey for lunchtime.
An outstanding experience all around. With a party of 4 and sampled a few different dishes. First of all the sourdough bread was among the best I’ve ever had. Shrimp & grits are a must try. Crab cake and sea scallops we’re scrumptious. Pause the diet and enjoy this dining experience.
The food was amazing. The service was top notch. The waiter suggested the best food.
What a gem! Super cool ambiance near Boston Commons. Oysters were top and the lump meat crab cakes just might top my faves in New Orleans ;-) I had a great Pinot Noir and my friend a generous Martini shaken and chilled to perfection. Add this one to your must visit stops!
Très bon restaurant de poisson ! Des huîtres chaudes délicieuses et des plats originaux et travaillés ! Nous n avions plus faim pour le dessert, mais avions pris un cocktail très réussi !
We had an excellent time at the Oceanaire..from our cocktail at the bar to our dinner. The food, the service and the atmosphere was just perfect...looking forward to going back.
We went to Oceanaire for their 2lb lobster special. The quality of food and service we received was top notch. Not seeing what we were looking for side dishes the waiter offered to see if the chef would put something together for us. I lauged thinking oh ya Friday night, probably not. I was wrong the waiter came out with just what we wanted from the chef. I had not been to Oceanaire in awhile, but will be back soon because of the service we received from the front of the house to the back. Need to mention the lobsters were cooked to perfection! So worth a trip there!
First rate food and menu. Nice ambiance and prompt service.
One of top 15 restaurants in Boston
Not the best time. The waitress quoted an add-on and when the bill came, it was more than what she quoted, and she refused to honor her quote. The whole experience was quite disappointing. Won’t return. Surprised that the service wasn’t up to par for this restaurant.
Steak and shrimp were over cooked. Food arrived to table cold.
Seafood is definitely their speciality. The steaks we ordered came with steak house prices but were not up to the quality and taste one might expect in a steak house.
Wonderful meal. We celebrated our anniversary and our server Hans took good care of us. We will return again.
The crab cake appetizer is a must, the service top notch definitely recommend it for all occasions and for dessert the flaming baked Alaska
Great service and amazing seafood! Went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was great, personalized excellent experience. Loved the halibut with black & blue onions.
Perfect place to make my wife’s birthday special. Portions were great, not skimpy and also did not stuff us so much as to miss the amazing flaming baked Alaska for desert, to top it off. Great selection of fun cocktails. We’ll be back!
The food was delicious, the venue is beautiful and the service attentive and well paced. There were 6 in our party and everyone enjoyed the experience immensely.
A phenomenal experience; our server was incredible and the experience for our large group was flawless. Will definitely be back.
Get together with friends I used to work with downtown.
Great food and service. Like that we don’t get rushed out.
Great food, great waiter, great atmosphere
The service was exceptional! We were so well cared for. My husband’s meal was wonderful. I had the “angry” flavor which was weird. My scallops were cooked perfectly though.
there was a big party there the night I was there. I service was very slow. We had reservation at 7 did not get out of there until 9:30. the lobster tail was over cook so they deducted from out check but left there still hungry. what a big different from my first experience.
It was the excellent service we received from Nelson that made this dinner perfect.
Oceanaire invited us to experience a three-course dinner. The appetizer was wonderful. The dessert was wonderful. The entrée was sorely lacking. The fish entrée was served by itself in a large plate. The fish was excellent, but it was served on its own. The chef should be ashamed to serve such a plate. One scoop of mashed potatoes and a few green beans would have made the dish "pop," but this restaurant is too interested in up-selling apps and sides. Very disappointing.
Our family loves Oceanaire! From the fresh oysters we had for appetizers to shrimp scampi, flounder and halibut for dinner, and the cheesecake and sorbet for dessert, as well as a lovely beer, wine and cocktail selection, we were all thrilled with our experience !! The ambiance is elegant/chic, with high ceilings and stunning lighting, and it makes every dining experience there feel special. This restaurant is a true gem!!
Elegantly situated in a grand old bank building. Food, service could not have been better.
Clearly one of the best seafood restaurants in the Boston area. Only a six minute walk from the Aquarian and Long Wharf. Great hash brown potatoes, oysters, nice wine list and meat meals are also possible for the few none seafood eaters.
Delicious dinner and great experience. Classy ambiance and enjoy coming here when we visit Boston!
Will definitely return next visit!
