Everything was great and everyone was amazing. Hadn't been there in a while, but food still great.
Shrimp and grits appetizer was delicious. Martinis were very tasty.
Great seafood options in a fantastic atmosphere. Noise level was minimal but not too quiet. Service was great, our waiter was attentive and responsive to our needs. I look forward to going back.
I always love a good meal and I always get that at Oceanaire.
Very good food, gracious, unobtrusive service. Good lunch place
Dinner date with my husband. Service was excellent. Food was average. Started with the roasted oysters. They were....ok, nothing special. My husband had the clam chowder...again...fine, but not going to win any awards.
Second course, he had the stuffed haddock. I had surf and turf. Both dishes were over salted which detracted from our enjoyment. The hash browns were excellent, but again a bit oversalted. The chef needs to lighten up not the salt and let the food speak for itself. Our server was very personable and efficient. I just wish he had exceptional food to serve.
I would likely not return since the meal was rather pricey for something that was so-so.
Food was amazing! Service was so attentive even though it was peak dining. They even printed out special menus with ”Happy Birthday” at the top for the occasion. In addition they gave the birthday girl a card signed by a number of the staff.
The food was very good but the service was very slow even though it wasn't very busy.
Super fresh seafood, service can't be beaten, good wine & cocktail menu. Pricey.
Great service and great food at expected prices
We had a great time dining here last Friday night. The bar area got busy, so the wait for a staff member did take a bit longer than usual. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable and we look forward to returning.
The restaurant is in an old bank and has high ceilings and beautiful decor. We were seated right away and our waiter was very attentive. Food was fresh and tasty. They do have a kids menu. It's a little pricey but the food is high quality. Good for special occasions. They do have a large bar as well.
Fresh seafood, great oysters and professional service. Very good for a business dinner.
Food was not so good. Service was exceptional
Great night out . From start to finish the service was first class. All our food was of the highest standard even for one picky eater they adapted a dish to suit her taste.
I'd definitely go back. The bread was exquisite. The wine was also very enjoyable. I liked the ambiance the most and would definitely recommend the spot for large groups.
Beautiful room with spacious seating
Helpful waiter observant good recall of things we talked about
Drinks unusual and delicious has “best” g and T
Good size Mussels tender and great broth
Crab cakes wonderful!
Anniversary dinner. Lots of little pluses from menu with Happy anniversary to special attention, but not rushed. Food was wonderful.
Enjoyed Restaurant week lunch w/co-workers. We all enjoyed out meals, a complimentary crudité plate & tasty bread. The crudité plate was a pleasant surprise. My trout entrée was delicious & ample. The salmon entrée looked delicious but the shrimp entrée was a bit skimpy. The 1st & 3rd courses were delicious. The servers are always fun & attentive.
It was a hit!!
This place is pricey with decent food, so save it for a special night out or business dinner. Given its location and price point, it's generally a business crowd. The food is pretty good, but not worth the high price point in my opinion, given all the other Seafood places in the area. The service and decor were superb!
Service from Francisco was excellent! Food as good but lobster was under cooked. Sent it back and came back good. Overall great experience
Disappointment. One of the worst dinner services I ever received. We were a party of two. Our waiter was neglectful, but we noticed other tables were getting a lot more attention. We never received our bread and salad at the table as others who came in after us did. We had to call over another waiter to inform them. We ended up receiving our bread and appetizers at the same time. Our waiter never checked in with us to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. After finally clearing our table after our appetizers(20mins) we waited another 30mins to get our main course. As others that came in after us with 5+ in their party received their dinner before us. The food was not flavorful and disappointing. Avoid the lobster mac and cheese it was completely bland. After sitting for another 30mins with the food we did not eat in front of us, our waiter finally decided to see how we were doing. I advised him that I did not like the lobster mac and cheese. He did not apologize or offer any other suggestions and the manager never came to our table. He just took it away. We asked for the bill and decided not to stay for dessert. We then waited another 20mins as our waiter proceeded to take an order for a party of at least 12 that was sitting across from us.. All we wanted to do was pay for our dinner and leave.
I was expecting certain level of service and dining from Oceaniare. I would not recommend this place nor will I be returning. You are better off going to Del Frisco's in Boston or Ruth Chris where everyone gets treated the same.
The food and ambience was lovely, highly recommend! Would be excellent for date night or a special occasion.
I love Oceanaire, it is always my go to place for new or old friend gatherings.
Exquisite in every respect. Clearly one of the best restaurants in Boston.
Beautiful beautiful restaurant which I already knew but happy to go. My waitress Bridgette was the BEST! My only one issue if that was the seating. The table was fine but to be seated by the restrooms where the help was set was not cool. Customers as well as staff bumping into my chair etc. was we hidden?
it was amazing!! fairly priced- the baked alaska is a must- the manager went out of his way to come over and introduce himself- no complaints at all
Great personal service and excellent fresh seafood
The food was fabulous but our service was not. We sat there for 10-15 minutes before even a waiter stopping by to take our drink order. We got our food, finished and then sat there for 20-25 minutes before anyone came over. We would have liked dessert but didn’t have time due to the lack of service.
Overall great selection of food and wine. Salmon was over done, service was slow and forgetful.
Exceptional flavor and even better service.
A la carte menu style a little disappointing but every bite of food was gone from our plates when we were done!
Best seafood in town! Better quality than the "other" perhaps more well known sea food restaurant - hands down. The service was superb, preparation superb and the wine list one of the best we've experienced in quite a while. The service was elegant without being stuffy and Jarrod, our server was as skilled as any European trained server; attentive, informed, formal yet friendly and had all four of us laughing throughout the meal. Great place, great experience; could not recommend Oceanaire more highly!
I was one for the worst dinner experience I had in my entire life....
The food, ambiance and excellent service provided by the waiter make the Oceanaire a restaurant that I will continue to come to in the future.
Wonderful dining experience. Waitress very attentive and friendly. Bartenders very informative and great conversation. Food amazing. Ambience a gem. A must do again. Thank you !
As always, Oceanaire is a great place for lunch, great service, great food convenient location, close to public transportation. Quiet as mostly 0sedate business people.
Waiter brought the wrong cocktail. Shrimp in the grits and shrimp appetizer were not completely shelled. Food was cold, even after sending it back once. In general, food was substandard. Nothing like my previous experience at this restaurant.
Excellent food and portions. Date night place ambience. I would return
Oceanaire is very elegant. My husband and I tried it out for the first time during restaurant week. Restaurant week allows us to try out new places at minimal cost. The decor, the ambiance and the food didn't disappoint at all. Oh and let's not forget my delicious chocolate Martini. Our waiter, Erald, was excellent! I joined the club and plan on bringing friend and family back with us next time. Made my top 10 list.
