Food was divine, Service was excellent, wine and entree choices were superb. I would return for a special occasion.
Met with colleagues and had a very lovely and relaxing dinner. Service was good and no one rushed us so we had plenty of time to catch up. Food was delicious, as always.
The food was great and the service was exceptional!
Beautiful room, attentive service and excellent food preparation. I recommend it highly. If you love oysters go to the raw bar on Sundays for $1.00 special.
We’ve been to a bunch of Oceanaire’s across the country. This was awful. Presentation was terrible, restaurant was totally empty. Dud of a night with an enormous price tag.
Lovely place for a date good seafood
Most impressive was the willingness and ease in accommodating a kosher diner in our group. All of our meals were excellent with unobtrusive yet efficient and professional service. Expensive and worth every penny.
Boston is a seafood town and the Oceanaire is the best of them all. Be reminded that this is not a fried seafood destination. There are plenty of those around. This is fine dining with a seafood centric. Clam chowder, lobster bisque, crab cakes, stuffed haddock, and New Bedford scallops are fantastic. The Baked Alaska for dessert is excellent.
The food was good. My best restaurant so far. The waitress was outstanding. Everything was excellent. The coat lady helped us get our coats on.! I will come back soon.
Classic Steakhouse; only SEAFOOD. Enjoyed the excellent service.
Very nice food
Felt rushed to order, appetizer was delicious and so was the wine. The meal was delivered promptly, crab cakes were great but the swordfish was so tough I couldn’t cut it with a knife. I explained and send it back. My wife finished her dinner before it arrived and when it did I still couldn’t cut it with a knife. I decided to get the crab cakes. When the bill came had to talk to the manager to have it adjusted. $170 for a bottle of wine 4 crab cakes and an appetizer - not a good experience. Have had other exceptional meals here before just this time service was subpar.
The food & service was great! The only problem was the heat. It was extremely cold in there & we asked to turn the heat up & they wouldn’t. That sort of ruined our time!
We had a very nice Christmas night dinner at Oceanaire. The meal and service were excellent like always.
Special thanks to the staff for sharing your holiday with our family.
I forgot to let the Oceanaire know of my allergies when I made my reservation. I did tell our waitress as soon as we were seated and she was wonderful about asking the chef about anything she was unsure of. The chef himself even cane to our table to ask about a substitution. Due to their concern, dinner was fantastic and we had a wonderful evening! Oh, and they also had TWO GF desserts on their menu, so I was super happy!!!
Service exceptionally slow and steaks that were meant to be rare were well done. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Excellent atmosphere excellent food. Oysters were crazy fresh and super briny. Seared ahi was excellent. King crab was cracked in front of us and was excellent.
This is a special place for us. The service and friendliness and professionalism is unlike any other restaurant that we visit.
We've gone to this restaurant for years, and with each visit, Oceanaire gets even better in all categories.
We enjoyed spending our time on Christmas EVE.
If we will go to Boston, we will definitely go there.
Excellent meal and service for a lovely Christmas eve, thank you! The only suggestion is to serve the lobster cocktail appetizer with nutcrackers because it was tricky retrieving the meat from the claws. I actually drew blood trying! In winter lobsters are hard shell, so either crack it for us or provide the proper utensils.
Simply Phenomenal food and people..a must visit
We had a very disappointing experience on Dec. 22. The service was poor and the food was not cooked properly. We were surprised that there was no offer from the waiter or management to compensate for the undercooked swordfish after requesting it to be medium well done and the waiter saying it was always prepared that away and cooked through. In addition to to this specific issue, overall it was not a positive experience. It started with an awkward greeting when we checked in, and no offer to take our winter coats; although we had a reservation and the restaurant was only half full, there was a confusion seating us at a table. We asked to order the food at the same time as the drinks, but the waiter rushed off to get our drinks before taking our food order. Our drinks came quickly, but after 45 min. we finally asked for bread as the waiter forgot to bring it. We received the bread and a water soaked crudite plate, and then the main course arrived quickly to follow. As noted previously, I asked for the swordfish to be cooked medium well, and it was raw in the middle. Nobody checked with us to see if our food was OK, so we had to flag down the waiter to send it back. It took some time to bring the fish back to me, and my dining partner was almost done with his meal by the time mine arrived back. It still was not quite right, so I ate a couple of bites and left it. We moved onto share a single dessert which was good, but given that the $40. fish was not right, it seemed strange to us the waiter would not make a small gesture of discounting the fish or comping the $8. dessert, but nothing was mentioned. We had to ask other staff to get our waiter to bring the check as he disappeared for some time after we received our dessert, finally got it, and then again had to wait to pay. We dine out often, and the ratings for Open Table for this restaurant were definitely NOT indicative of the experience we had. We would not recommend this restaurant.
I have been a dinner guest at Oceanaire Boston several times in the last few years, and I've always been happy with the food and the service. The food is expertly prepared and very high quality. They have an extensive menu and wine list with a nice selection of favorites. The service is attentive without being obtrusive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Took family to Nutcracker and nice dinner...everything was perfect!
Really have never had a bad meal at Oceanaire. Their crab cakes are absolutely to die for. Swordfish was delicious.
Great food and good service. Oysters were amazing.
One of our go to spots for fantastic seafood. Definitely try this place out if you have not, well worth it!
Wonderful place. We had a great meal in a beautifully decorated spot. Our waiter Enrique was outstanding and was super attentive. He made our visit a memorable one. The food was delicious and signature cocktails were exceptional. We would definitely return to this restaurant!
Great food and location... busy night and table felt a little cramped. But I would go again for sure.
Unfortunately order took too long and I had to have it packed to go. I was at restaurant more than an hour and a half for lunch.
the last few meals here have been very disappointing. Quality of the seafood has gone down hill, orders have been messed up and service has been slow. Unfortunate as this has been my go to lunch spot for years....
Recently had a birthday celebration for my wife. Grace, our waitress was great and very accommodating.
Restaurant was very quiet on a Saturday evening. Atmosphere was upscale but laid back. Some guests were shockingly casual (long sleeve band tee-shirts and jeans). It did not feel stuffy at all. Meals were excellent, with one small complaint. My companion ordered the lobster meat "extra" and it was very dry. Unfortunate for the price. The staff knew very little about the Sommelier wine recommendations list because it was 'new' leading us to take a risk based on description and knowing what we like and try an $85 bottle of wine. Luckily it was very good. Service was on point. Dinnerware and silverware have seen better days. Over all a very good experience with just a few small things that kept it from being outstanding.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We had a great meal and would definitely go back.
The food was exceptional, the service not so much! I'm not sure if this was just the waiter's fault but he seemed to have tables all over the restaurant. He was absent too much, so much so that we had to ask another waiter for help. Not good!
Excellent food, great location and waiters was great.
Person who sat us down was lost had no clue where to seat us and never told waiter we were there then waiter came in said sorry didn’t know you were here then wife ordered seafood plate dairy allergy no dairy they send it out covered in butter took it back brings back another one lobster is burnt scallops under cooked my meal was fine
amazing food, amazing service. I wish i could remember our waiters name. He was fantastic.
