Oceanaire Seafood Room - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
I took my Fiancee' to Oceanaire Seafood Room to celebrate a significant accomplishment. Our reservation was for 10 but quickly grew to 19... The staff at Oceaniare was unphased... they cordially accommodated us. The food was awesome and the service was great!
It took the wait staff way longer than expected for service in a restaurant of this caliber. I've eaten at the Dallas location multiple times and the service was way better than received here. The food was good, however very disappointed with the overall service and experience.
We were nearing the end of a long drive back to DC the Sunday after Thanksgiving (never the best commute) and decided to stop in on a whim. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, and both the hostess and our waiter (David) were helpful, attentive and polite the entire time, despite how late it was. We loved all the food we tried, and the baked alaska (with pumpkin spice ice cream; apparently they rotate seasonally) was the perfect cap on our visit!
I'm only giving them 3 stars based on this experience because usually the food and service are A-1. They added the New Zealand lamb chops to the menu and I looooooove lamb so I was super excited. However, it was not good at all. I asked for it medium rare and they delivered on that but goodness was it fatty and tough. Very disappointed in the lamb. My oysters were good as always and of course the drink selection was great. Could have had a nicer pour on the 1942. My wife loved her crab leg appetizer and swordfish. She went with the black and blue option. The presentation of the food was also beautiful.
We had the Swordfish and the Rockfish dishes. Both were simply grilled and they were so good. The fish was so fresh and the grilling was perfect. The service was excellent (Jeanette our server was awesome). To finish, we had a Baked Alaska, and it was very good. We will definitely visit again when we are back in town.
A great dining experience. Food and service were excellent. Our server, Samantha was outstanding in terms of her knowledge and helpfulness. Extensive menu. All positives from the moment we opened the door to the moment we departed. Great drinks at the bar and entire staff was warm and friendly.
We went to celebrate my wife's birthday (which has been a tradition at Oceanaire for couple years now). I can definitely say this was the best time we have been. The server was amazing and he gave my kids an extra cookie in the cookies and milk dessert (so there would be four instead of 3 and they could have two each). The Kale/sprout salad was amazing. I got the grouper with miso glaze and it was so delicious.
Came to celebrate a great friend’s 30th birthday and man it was worth it! The reviews here definitely did not disappoint. On Friday night, the place was pretty empty which meant no wait to be seated or to have our waiter greet us and tell us about the menu. They print their menus everyday with the updated chef’s specialties and they even printed two menus that said Happy 30th Birthday at top as souvenirs to take home. Awesome food, awesome service and valet was great. I will definitely be coming back to grab a bite to eat or even to get a few drinks with some friends.
Pros: really great service from Jeannie. Could not have been better. Nice atmosphere and beautiful furnishings. Cons: the drinks and food were prettily presented but all mediocre with the sole exception of mashed potatoes with truffle oil, which were very good. Overall, things were a bit bland and considering the steep price, this is even more disappointing. Won’t return.
The Oceanaire really exceeded my expectations. The staff was so nice and attentive to me and my guest. I was celebrating my birthday and they customize my menus saying Happy Birthday and also surprise me with a delicious desert. And the food was superior!!!
Great location and very eclectic and diverse menu including wine. Hard to order seafood on a Monday night where it was probably delivered over the weekend and not today. Farmed King salmon was outstanding and best ever. Halibut was not flaky and a bit dry and at that price you want it to be perfect. Don't like the practice of ordering wine by the glass and pouring it from a pre-measured carafe. When ordering an expensive glass and asking to see it poured from bottle to see the label they still brought a pre-poured carafe and an unopened bottle to show label. Pressing further wouldn't open the bottle. Not sure what I got.
The experience was amazing from start to finish the waiter Winston was very attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed. He allowed us to wine taste before purchasing and even when we find something less enjoyable he offered alternatives. The food was great but the service was even better and I had a party of 14.
First time here and I was VERY impressed. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. It’s in a tourist area so the dress code is not strict but a great place to dress up for a date. Spoke with our server Stephanie (who was amazing) and she said people come in shorts or jeans and it’s acceptable.
They have their own take on oysters Rockefeller and it was the BEST I’ve ever had. I absolutely recommend this place!
