Oceanaire Seafood Room - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
We went to celebrate my wife's birthday (which has been a tradition at Oceanaire for couple years now). I can definitely say this was the best time we have been. The server was amazing and he gave my kids an extra cookie in the cookies and milk dessert (so there would be four instead of 3 and they could have two each). The Kale/sprout salad was amazing. I got the grouper with miso glaze and it was so delicious.
Came to celebrate a great friend’s 30th birthday and man it was worth it! The reviews here definitely did not disappoint. On Friday night, the place was pretty empty which meant no wait to be seated or to have our waiter greet us and tell us about the menu. They print their menus everyday with the updated chef’s specialties and they even printed two menus that said Happy 30th Birthday at top as souvenirs to take home. Awesome food, awesome service and valet was great. I will definitely be coming back to grab a bite to eat or even to get a few drinks with some friends.
Pros: really great service from Jeannie. Could not have been better. Nice atmosphere and beautiful furnishings. Cons: the drinks and food were prettily presented but all mediocre with the sole exception of mashed potatoes with truffle oil, which were very good. Overall, things were a bit bland and considering the steep price, this is even more disappointing. Won’t return.
The Oceanaire really exceeded my expectations. The staff was so nice and attentive to me and my guest. I was celebrating my birthday and they customize my menus saying Happy Birthday and also surprise me with a delicious desert. And the food was superior!!!
Great location and very eclectic and diverse menu including wine. Hard to order seafood on a Monday night where it was probably delivered over the weekend and not today. Farmed King salmon was outstanding and best ever. Halibut was not flaky and a bit dry and at that price you want it to be perfect. Don't like the practice of ordering wine by the glass and pouring it from a pre-measured carafe. When ordering an expensive glass and asking to see it poured from bottle to see the label they still brought a pre-poured carafe and an unopened bottle to show label. Pressing further wouldn't open the bottle. Not sure what I got.
The experience was amazing from start to finish the waiter Winston was very attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed. He allowed us to wine taste before purchasing and even when we find something less enjoyable he offered alternatives. The food was great but the service was even better and I had a party of 14.
First time here and I was VERY impressed. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. It’s in a tourist area so the dress code is not strict but a great place to dress up for a date. Spoke with our server Stephanie (who was amazing) and she said people come in shorts or jeans and it’s acceptable.
They have their own take on oysters Rockefeller and it was the BEST I’ve ever had. I absolutely recommend this place!
Had an amazing time at Oceanaire. We were promptly seated with immediate greetings by our waiter, Bristain ("Christain with a B"). He explained the menu well and recommended great dishes. He recommended an amazing sweet red wine that I loved. We started with crab cakes and crab cocktail which were both amazing! For our main course, we had the shrimp scampi and seafood salad with various sides, all of which were flavorful and filling. Desert was topped off with pumpkin ice-cream and amazing fire display for the icing. Overall, great restaurant; great food, great service; great time!
Food over priced and the taste not worth the money. My salmon had so much maple syrup glaze it was like eating pancakes on a Sunday morning. Salmon was thin and the tail end of the fish. Rudely interrupted by another customer while ordering which made the server off. One group next to me had a lady talking on her cell phone the whole time and she was very loud. When we ordered the mashed potatoes the server said 'They aren't good, you should order something else'
Waited 15 minutes to get the bill after we asked for it. The server never checked to see if our food was correct and good. Very disappointing anniversary night with my husband. It was one of our first date spots and won't ever go back.
In Baltimore for the weekend and looking for a place for nice dinner. We found it here. Beautiful surroundings and great food. Felt service was a little forced; at every turn an upgrade was proposed. Felt like they were trying to nickel and dine us. Had a great tine in spite of it
Seated promptly and with courtesy. Excellent wait staff and terrific guidance on specials and different ways to prepare the fish. Loved the chowder, crab mac and cheese, seated halibut and crab cakes- ate too much to have any dessert. Excellent wine and beer selection.
We dined here for my birthday Celebration. It was FABULOUS. The wait staff made the evening even more special. They were attentive without being intrusive. The prices are in line with what you would expect for the venue and experience.
I am pleased. It is worth a visit
I love this place, I do think the Happy hour portions could be a bit bigger than what they were. Also, my date ordered the fish and chips and it was not up to the standards that was expected. The fish was under seasoned and tasted a bit burned and the fries (chips) were extremely over seasoned. In reference to the happy hour portion sizes, I ordered the shrimp and grits and I was super excited because I love that menu item. As I begun to eat I realized that majority of my entree was sauce and garnish, very little grits. Other than that this restaurant is always consistent, the fish tacos were lovely, juicy and flavorful. The filet mignon sliders were good as well.
