We sat without food for an inordinate amount of time. At this price point, more is expected.
Excellent crab cakes
Rock fish was superb.
Oysters very good but small.
Food was delicious. Restaurant was noisy I think because we were sat next to a large group. Waiter was good, but I asked for bread and he said someone would bring bread & a relish tray. I had to ask again for the bread and we finally got it, but still haven’t seen the relish tray.
Our waitress was very friendly, helpful with menue and local knowledge, food was very prompt in coming ( though it was early, 5:45 pm), my portion a little small ( my opinion)for the price (crab cakes); my wife’s was well proportioned (broiled shellfish) for the price, drinks pricey as is everything else but overall a nice place to go.
Fabulous food for a pretty penny. They can make anything that you have a taste for. The food and service are just wonderful.
Wonderful evening and dinner at Oceanaire.
Kathy myself and Brian went with Kevin and Brooke and
had a very nice evening .
We had crab legs, filet mignon, Kevin had the halibut and
everything was great.
Brooke had her favorite baked alaskan which was very good.
Michael the waiter was superb.
Outstanding food and service to match. Highly recommended!
Great food, Excellent service, Good time, Every time.
Everything was perfect!! We really appreciated the effort The Oceanaire put into our special evening. My amazing Hubs of 7 years surprised me by prearranging to have a congratulations to us inscribed in bold on the top of our menus!! So I was already on top of the world!! Adding to perfection the food was fantastic - spicy salmon poke, large sea diver scallops w spinach & risotto, lump crab cake, Caesar salad. The gouda mac & cheese was good as well but I will skip adding the lump crab meat next time, it wasn’t enough. They added to our lovely evening with their complimentary dessert, baked Alaska. It was a beautiful tower of marshmallow fluff encased with cherry chocolate chip ice cream that was set ablaze right in front of us on the table.
The ambiance was superb. The one thing that my Husband & I keep speaking of is how private it seemed. For it to be as crowded as it was it was VERY quiet. The tables and booths are not that far apart but we never invaded by neighboring conversations. I honestly do not remember even hearing their voices.
All staff that I encountered were very pleasant and provided exceptional customer service (today, something companies have majorly neglected). So let credit be given where it is due, IT’S DUE!! Waiting for my Husband to park and retrieve the car I was able to observe their interactions with other guest, The Oceanaire is on point. It was my first time going there and I will definitely return soon, I look forward to trying other items on the menu.
Forgot to mention Hubs & I were about 20 mins late for our reservation (parking is not so easy on Saturday night) and they were absolutely gracious!!
Food good as always Disappointed that no anniversary celebration dessert offered unlike last 5 years when we have gone there for that special event
They were open for Easter, not time they are usually open, so the place was empty (which was great for my large family gathering). Service was phenomenal, waiters were very attentive. Food was delicious, even kids enjoyed their meals. Looking forward to returning.
Service was exceptional and the food was outstanding!
Oceanaire has never disappointed. It is pricey but the food is special and the service can't be beat.
Romantic ambience and good food (seared jumbo diver scallops). Even with my husband's dietary restrictions, our waiter was very accommodating.
Fantastic! Great service, great food, amazing Birthday experience!
Dutch harbor king crab legs are amazing
The service was great our server was very attentive. I brought a cake an was charged a $25.00 fee that was a little disheartening to be charged a extra fee for a cake.
Server was attentive without being intrusive. Service and food were both exceptional. Favorite dinner spot in the Harbor.
The food is great our server Francisco was also great. I try to get to Oceanaire as often as possible. We go to DC and Baltimore, I like the design of Baltimore it feels a little more comfortable.
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere.
Very good seafood. Nice wine list. Excellent service. Very nice evening.
Atmosphere was pretty the restaurant was basically empty on a Saturday evening in downtown Baltimore which is rare.. it took a long tome to be seated even with reservations (the hostess disappeared and never came back). The food was decent but not worth the price at all very mediocre. I went for my birthday and the put my name on a menu and comped my dessert which was nice.
Came to Oceanaire for a first date, requested a booth in a relatively quiet area. All requests were granted. Waiter was excellent. Gave great suggestions and gave us plenty of time for my date and I to talk and get to know each other better. Ordered appetizers and our meals and they were promptly prepared and served. Food was delicious and just the right size. I saved room for dessert and got the baked alaska, which was delicious. It was a tough call between the baked alaska and the chocolate creme brulee.
All in all, a great meal, fantastic service and worth the money.
The staff was very attentive to our needs and made our experience there feel personalized. It was my birthday and the Baked Alaska was fantastic.
Terrific food and service. Steaks, crab cakes, lumped crab appetizer and service were all top shelf! Looking forward to going back.
Great service, food was excellent at a great price
This was a disappointing experience. My husband and I went for a date night before going to the movies mainly due to location and we wanted oysters. Everything here is overpriced, the food is mediocre (other than the scallops which where very good), oysters were not cleanly shucked, service was slow and drinks were disappointing. We both had martinis and the pour only filled half the glass. The server even commented on it and said she’d bring us more to top off the glass but never did. We wanted to order dessert but after waiting for 25 minutes for her to return we had to leave to make the movie. There are far better seafood places on Baltimore for us to ever go back here.
We came down to the city to stay while our house lost power, and Oceanaire was right next to our hotel. Had been for work dinners but never with my wife.....had a great couple cocktails to start, a soup and salad we both shared, which were both great.....then crab cakes and tune....the seafood is top quality and cannot be beat! Our waiter Mario was attentive and his memory excellent.....we really enjoyed it! Got dessert to go and was great back in our room watching a movie....would recommend to anyone, anytime!
Lovely meal with business colleagues. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Always a great time there. Food is awesome and so is quality of service. Waiters know what they are doing!!
The steak was good but shrimp were cold. Drink were weak. My girlfriend had a Long Island and was highly disappointed with the alcohol content even after the waiter suggested it. Overall, it was a average evening.
Exactly what we had expected. Had dined there previously so knew what to expect!
This was our first and regrettably last visit to Baltimore’s Oceanaire. We met friends for Saturday night dinner at this restaurant which promotes itself as the “fresh fish version” of a high end steakhouse. It was anything but.
There were 4 of us. We got off to a slow start after moving to another table not directly under the excessively loud speakers. One of our guests ordered white wine which the waiter brought in a mini carafe. I’ve never written seen wine NOT poured directly from the bottle.
Although he ordered a dry white wine, it was bubbly/foamy-looking like beer and tasted like carbonated apple cider which he had to return. The waiter brought an unopened bottled and poured him a new glass which was fine.
Our guests ordered the calamari appetizer which they said was okay. My husband and I ordered salads which, other than dessert, were the highlights of the evening. Our entrees were hugely disappointing.
Two of us ordered the highlighted menu item, New Zealand John Dory which our waiter described as sweet and buttery. The others ordered tuna and rockfish. At nearly $50 for the John Dory a la carte entree, it came overcooked, dried out, unseasoned and flavorless.
Our guest returned his and ordered the the John Dory “simply prepared” while I kept mine but ordered balsamic dressing to pour over it. He of course had to wait for his meal while the rest of us ate ours.
We split the baked Alaska which was good as was the Oceanaire coffee. The bill came to around $300 (before tax) and after the manager waived $11 for the bad wine. Really?? At these prices we should have left delighted.
I would have given 0 stars for VALUE if I could. Don’t waste your money. This place is amateur. I learned that it is part of Landry’s and we have enjoyed Morton’s among others in this chain. We won’t be back to Oceanaire.
Our waiter was perfect - attentive, knowledgeable, funny
The food was delicious - everything we ordered from appetizers to soup to entrée to dessert
The service was perfect - not too slow and not rushed
We just think the lighting could be a tad bit brighter.
Loved the jazzy background music
Would definitely go back for a special occasion.
It was very nice the food was good and service was good I would come back in the future
My wife was celebrating her birthday and we had an excellent time. The service was first rate and the food came out perfectly!
Had been looking forward to eating here, but was really disappointed. The food was fine, but not outstanding. We were seated in the bar area for a special occasion; would not waste my time/money eating here again. Overall, not worth it in any way.
An incredible meal and service to celebrate our anniversary! Can’t wait to return!
The waiter was polite, knowledgeable, attentive.
The hostess/host at front door initially gave us a bad table adjacent to the door and the servers' station. However, the dining room remained more than half-empty upon arrival and throughout our meal during a primetime Saturday night. We weren't walk-ins; we had reservations.
We absolutely love this place. Everything was perfect.
