Reservation requested a booth. This was not acknowledged initially and we were first taken to a table in the center of the dining room. The booth we got was so tight that it was fortunate I’ve had some recent weight loss. The wait for our cocktail order seemed to embarrass our server- we were just puzzled & thirsty. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu but weirdly off- topic chatty. The food was mixed. Some items were great, others were lackluster. All told, at $500 for a party of four, it was not a value in any way, shape or form. Also, the $9 for valet parking felt like usurious as we left. Will not return, would not recommend.
Excellent food and service!
The food was great, we had oyster rock, crab cakes, shrimp scampi and the best baked Alaska table prep. The service was outstanding and a diverse wine selection . We highly recommend.
Slow service, rushed waiter, mediocre and expensive food.
The food was exceptional and our waitress, Whitney was very attentive and nice! The ambiance was perfect to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our date night! Would definitely return!!!
Disappointing. After reading reviews was looking forward to top notch dining experience for our Anniversary, instead the experience was mediocre at best and when considering some the pricing even worse. Server was pleasant and informative but at various points seemed either overwhelmed or inattentive to details. Drinks were slow to arrive or forgotten until mentioned. Main course was similar. Seemed other patrons were moving at a steady pace while not being rushed while we waited at times more than one would expect.
Drinks were blah. Martini and cosmo seemed watered down, my guess is this was due to sitting in shaker too long before being delivered to table. Wine was OK but again delivered long after ordered.
Salads were tasty but again after being delivered to table we waited a good 5 minutes before getting server attention for fresh cracked pepper. Odd for upscale place.
Meals were OK. Taste was good but things like scallops and swordfish were slightly undercooked. When delivered we were cautioned about the hit plates but meals were only warm enough to eat vs send back after the longer than normal delay after salad.
Overall an overpriced experience which greatly underwhelmed. We don’t mind paying for top service and food, but this was not that by any means.
The ambiance is nice. The service is good. The crab cake had a metallic taste. The rest of the three entrees and two apps were good.
Our server Jeanette was excellent!
Oceanaire is the best restaurant I've dined at in Baltimore or WDC. The service is always stellar and the food and drinks are divine.
Steak and lamb were up to the standards of the seafood
Much improved from 3 years ago
We came for Alaskan seafood night and the special was delicious. However, my husband was underwhelmed, as was I, with the salmon that he ordered - he did not want the whole three course dinner. We dine at Oceanair often at the bar and always have a good experience - so this was disappointing. Hopefully, this was just a blip - but we'll be more cautious next time.
Service was great and we had had a wonderful time.
Always an excellent restaurant to entertain customers.
The halibut and salad were excellent. Also had a crab cake. Another restaurant nearby surpassed the crab cake. Didn’t expect some fillers at OceanAire. The service attention was very well until the end, when we were no longer attended to as in the beginning. Albeit, the service provided when attended to, was pretty good.
Prices could be slightly lower. Don’t think the crab cakes were worth $20 a piece.
Wine selection was good by the glass.
The dessert was a no-no. The tart cherry/lime créme brûlée wasn’t a fav. The true texture of the dessert was lost, so we sent it back. Would have loved the original instead.
This was our second visit.
From first contact to the night of event I was pleased with the personal touch. I entertained 9 on Wed. and 13 on Thursday. I always feel like family at OceanAire.
Absolutely amazing dinner for our anniversary. They treated us so special and even delivered us a personalized menu as a memento. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I have eaten at the best restaurants in the world. This restaurant portrays itself as being five star however it is four-star at best. The prices are very very high for the quality of food. Nice atmosphere. We've had better food for half the cost. Sorry. Great wine list. Manager was very personable.
Never have had a bad time there. Even when you just get the special , you are not cheated in service
Price point is high and all ala carte pricing. Main entrees were prepared very well and tasty. But appetizer and desserts were not prepared very well. Crème Brule was way overcooked -- had to send back.
As always the service and food were outstanding. The music was terrible and too loud. We come to enjoy a quiet dinner with friends and the music could be off better quality, easy listening and alittle less loud. Otherwise we love the Oceanaire.
Service was slow for a restaurant that was 1/2 full
My server Quintin was outstanding. He very knowledgeable and helpful...
This was our first visit and will not be our last. This was a great place to celebrate our 24th Anniversary!!
The food overall was very good however one of the meals came out room temp and was sent back. Service was good however the cab (Yellow Cab?)that was called by your outside staff was disgusting!!! Ruined what was othetwise a very nice evening.
Food was certainly not up to expectations. Although it had interesting ingredients they just did not carry over into the flavor
This is the Oceanaire, so it is a given that the food is marvelous. Fresh daily, the choices are fantastic. We had salmon, filet, wagyu beef, scallops, lobster tail, and crab meat, all done to perfection. The real hit of the night was Netty, our server. We have been many times, and each time, the service was terrific. However, Netty stood out even among the others; she made excellent food and wine suggestions, has an amazing personality, and did all that she could to make my mother's 85th birthday a success, including even providing a dessert gratis. When, not if, I return, I will make it a point to ask for Netty; you should, too.
Service took forever. Reservation 5:30pm we didn’t leave the restaurant until almost 8:45pm. Very Little crab in the Maryland crab soup at a cost $9.00/cup. My specialty Scallop dinner was supposed to have Okra and it came out with none. My son’s $65.00 crab dish was fishy smelling and tasting and chewy. This was a special occasion, my husbands 50th bday dinner. Very overpriced meal for the poor quality and service we received. Don’t waste your money!
Oceanaire Seafood Room is a delightful place to eat in Harbor East Baltimore. The food is wonderful, the service is first rate and the ambiance is just right. We will definitely return!
We had crab cakes and a petite filet. Both entrees were melt in your mouth tasty. As sides we had, sauteed spinach, roasted asparagus and whipped potatoes. Finished the meal with sorbet and flan.
Excellent wait staff with Adam and Jordan. Friendly management team who know how to connect with customers. Food was excellent! A truly wonderful dining experience.
great for a special occasion but very expensive. could spend half this at Stony River
The crab cakes were superb. The sole was very good too. For Restaurant Week, the value was excellent.
We were wonderfully served by Alejandro. He was attentive and had great recommendations. The crab cakes were very very good. I recommend this place for any type of occasion. It is a little pricier than the chains at the center of the inner harbor but well worth it.
I went to celebrate my birthday and everything was amazing will definitely come back.
Outstanding dining experience. Service was spot on, food exemplary, beautiful room. We highly recommend Oceanaire!
Excellent service by Quentin... very attentive and knowledgeable about food selections
Overall the food and service was fantastic! The bar moved a bit a slow and we waited quite sometime for our drinks, but that would not deter me from returning. The waiter made a deduction on our bill to compensate for the inconvenience. I will return and highly recommend this restaurant .
The food was delicious and the service impeccable. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic. I have been recommending the restaurant to everyone! It was such an enjoyable experience.
The booths were very uncomfortable. I still have backache. Temperature was to warm in the restaurant. The fried sole was tasteless.
Waiters and staff were very friendly and professional. The calamari was exceptional-I would go again just to eat that.
They spoilt us with a complimentary baked Alaska for a birthday celebration.
In the past my wife and I would go here I would say often...but have not been in a couple yrs. So for our Anniversary I decided a great go to spot....not...the meal for what we paid was unimpressive and granted I've had dinner parties at Oceanaire where I've spent on one occasion close to $1k and another about $800 and did not have a regret because the food and service was impeccable. But on this outing for the what we paid we wish we had made ourselves like something on the Restaurant Week menu. As we were waiting for our car out front two women also waiting for their vehicle were saying the same exact thing. Then to make matters worse when the guy bought my truck around all we smelled was WEED...the dude smelled like weed and so did my truck all the way home we made to ride with the windows down to air it out. Thats my last visit.
Visited Oceanaire Seafood Room during Baltimore Restaurant Week 2019. Had a fabulous time .....the food, the ambiance, the customer service was top notch!! I was well pleased😊!!
Howard is a great server that should be commended for the service he gives. Always there just not seen.
