   Appalling from start to finish. I'd booked a table for 4 a good few weeks back, appreciating it might be busy. It took 40 minutes to be served a coffee (straight americano). Food took 50 minutes, no apology for any delay. I'd asked for my sons bacon sandwich to arrive slightly earlier as he was in a race and needed to leave. This couldn't be done...yet had been for another table not minutes before for a whole order! When it finally arrived it was different to what was advertised. We had been told they had run out of hash browns and it would be saute potatoes. What arrived was crisps with a fry up! My eggs benedict was served on sour dough not the muffin that was advertised. No explanation. Manager was very rude when approached. Like I was to accept what I was given! He even walked away! The ham tasted awful, poached eggs heavily over cooked and cold, not to mention plain sourdough very dry compared to an English muffin. My sons bacon sandwich was 2 slices of bread and 2 slices of bacon. No spread or butter or even served with! Granted it was buy one get one free breakfast offer but to serve half ready...well! When challenging a manager he said I hadn't been waiting as long as I'd said. Not once an apology! Seated for 50 minutes by the time food arrived at this point! What made it more frustrating is you could see 4 staff stood watching food orders being cooked, 1 of which this so called manager! On advising on any fault he shrugged and said he's busy. Advising I won't be returning, we were met with "that's fine!". No one was served in any order with a couple who had been waiting over an hour for 2 lattes! Disgusted. Absolutely disgusted. Please save yourself the £40+ and go elsewhere! And to a place that values it's customers!

   the breakfast was very bland, no seasoning/flavouring. tomatoes had clearly been standing around a while. we were offered granary bread and white so we had one of each. the granary option was not granary bread, it was more like hovis 50/50 bread, definatly not granary, which was disappointing. these vice was very slow but, the atmosphere and location was perfect.

   The food came out different to what the menu said and when questioned it she said it had changed. Should have told me that when I ordered not when the food came. Food was terrible.

   Sadly this visit did not live upto our previous visits, the sausages were overcooked and dry, the granary bread was whole meal and was not good quality. Even with the buy one get one free we didn’t think k it as was worth the money,

   Excellent food, recommend the fish dishes, cooked well with a good balance of spices. Food was well presented, with portions exceeding expectations! Table service was very friendly and organised, didn't feel rushed.

   Had to ask for a fresh pint of beer, as it was the end of the barrel and it had bits floating in it. No apology. Forgot to bring new drinks when ordered – had to be reminded. Forgot to bring some food orders – had to be reminded. Service very slow Quality of food excellent

   Excellent service and food. It was quite busy therefore a bit noisy but it didn’t spoil our experience.

   We’ve been for breakfast a few times in the past and loved it, it was great quality food & value given its buy one get one free but I feel it’s now got more popular and things have slipped. Everything apart from the hash brown was cold. The poached egg was like a rock hard bullet! The mushrooms & tomato was dried out & not edible. They used to have lovely quality bread for the toast & nice butter but it’s now cheap alternatives. The service is always great when ordering but every time we’ve been there you don’t see a member of staff after finishing your food & it’s often a 20 minute - half an hour wait to pay. It’s fine if you are just there taking in the scenery but if you have plans afterwards it’s not great service. Overall really disappointed with today’s food. A real shame given how it was 12-18 months ago when we first went there!

    Superb setting, separate bar with good cocktail menu . Food and service was excellent. Sharing starters are huge for 2 people but lovely food . Beef rib was stunning. Definitely go again and highly recommend it
