Ocean Terrace Restaurant- Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club
This family friendly restaurant is open daily from mid-April through mid-October for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reservations are accepted for dinner.
It’s a wedding venue and weddings take priority over everyday customers
Makes sense , but be forewarned
Have gone to this restaurant for years. Very disappointing. Menu choices have decreased so is quality and prices have gone up.
To boot the service was very substandard. Asked for refill of iced tea it came from a warm pitcher of tea with no ice.
If it is a windy chilly day, plan to eat inside. Luckily, I had a windbreaker with me. Without it I would have been uncomfortable. The Ocean Terrace setting is absolutely lovely and the attention of our server was top notch. My companions thoroughly enjoyed their lunches (salad with steak and the veggie burger, respectively). I did not particularly like my selection of eggs benedict. The eggs were very runny and the spinach was tart. We all enjoyed the vegan chocolate cake. It was absolutely delicious.
While the food and the views were excellent, the service was a little lacking considering our tab for 4 adults was over $400.00. The server was less attentive than he should have been. We had to ask for bread for the table and when dinner came and we wanted wine with our dinner, he was no where to be found. We had to ask another server to find him and send him over to our table. We were almost done with our food by the time the wine was brought to the table.
Great place to dine out on terrace on a beautiful summer evening. Service was very good. Drinks are pricey, but worth it on a night outside looking out on the bay and sunset. Reservations needed on summer weekend dinner outside
The price value equation was terrible. The food was mediocre. Four adults and our two grandchildren, 9 & 11. Kids meal was fine. Adult entrees were very pedestrian as were the salads.
Our waiter was extremely nice. He was very professional and helpful. My problem with the service, my pet peeve, is the bus staff swooping down to clear the plate of the first person finished with their food. I don’t expect this at a fine restaurant. Makes the others feel rushed, not to mention hands in your face as you are eating. Also my entree was delivered over the table. There was plenty of room to walk around the table and put it down properly. I’m not sure who is training your wait staff, but please......
Our table was perfect, in the corner, looking out onto the water.
We were there in August of 2016 and I remember a wonderful dinning experience. Hopefully that will return in the future. Although not sure that we will.
Very bad experience. The good- the view and vibe. Gorgeous distant ocean views and lovely terrace with an upscale beach feel. The bad - service and good quality and overall management. We ordered appetizers, salads and mains (tenderloin and lobster). We asked that they be brought out as three separate courses. The waitress agreed and said she would put the order in so it would be staggered - per normal. Within 5 minutes it all arrived at the table. The waitress apologized and said she must have entered it wrong. And left us with the appetizers and salads. She said she would put the main meals under a heat lamp. I asked that fresh mains be prepared because we did not want to have to rush through two courses delivered at once to get to the main when it was somewhat fresh. She said, of course. We started eating. Food was ok, nothing special. Five minutes later the mains reappeared. We once again asked for time to eat the appetizers and salad and for fresh mains and were again told that would be fine. 6 minutes later the mains reappeared, now looking withered and dry, keep in mind they were about $42 each. This time they left them. The lobster was cold, dry and chewy. The tenderloin probably was good, but was now dry on the outside and lukewarm at best. And the mashed potatoes were hard as a rock. For our troubles, they brought a free glass of wine. That’s all. When leaving, there was a piece of the table that was chipped and ripped my pants- my perfect summer pants. We were not angry, just frustrated that no one cared about the overall comfort and experience of the guests. All the wait staff was clearly summer help and did not care about the restaurant or the patrons. We asked to speak to the manager because the table was dangerous and could hurt someone. A young woman came over, We explained, she asked what she should do, We again asked for the manager. Waited 10 minutes and left. The place, although lovely, is Mis- managed and not a true Cape Cod experience.
We’ve had any number of excellent meals here but today was a huge disappointment. There was no luncheon menu just one for “late breakfast” though we’ve had wonderful lunches before. The food had almost no seasoning so everything tasted flat. We hope this restaurant returns to its former excellence but for now it should be avoided.
The view is spectacular.
Ambiance is lovely but food was sub par. Disappointing at best.
Everything was perfect except out waiter. He was very impatient with providing any information for a kid friendly meal. Imagine that, a server not offering suggestions for our daughter. That ruined the mood. Tried to look past it, but couldn’t. I was tempted to give three stars because our waiter was such a downer.
Yes but only for the view and an app. Had a few appetizers which were good. Our entrees were not good and the cocktails were even worse. Stick to beer and wine. You’re paying for the ambience and view which is very nice.
Family celebration/vacation. Food ok/good. Food doesn’t live up to the beauty of the location and was over priced for the quality of food. I would recommend the location for drinks/apps or brunch but not for an upscale dinner.
This place is a hidden gem....love everything about this place! :)
The food was atrocious, everything was overpriced & over cooked. The sea food was like rubber. Ordered 3 small plates couldn’t eat any of it.
This is a special place on the Cape overlooking CC Bay. The outdoors menu has limited but tasty well cooked entrees served up by an international staff on a beautiful terrace. It is a bit pricey however, for a special occasion worth it. We go every year for our wedding anniversary and will continue to do so. Don’t miss it even if you just go to the bar for a cocktail and drink in the ambiance
Great cocktail menu but bartender left our drinks sitting for 10 minutes before serving them. Food pretty good but waitress made several mistakes.
Beautiful setting but got eaten alive by mosquitoes.
It is a lovely place with a beautiful view. The food is below average- Swordfish Tacos did not have much fish at all, and the turkey sandwich was scant.
There were very few people there during lunch and yet our food took over 45 minutes to arrive.
Again - beautiful view - but just go for a drink.
Food was fantastic! Ambiance was perfect. Nothing better than dinner overlooking the sunset on cape cod bay! It's expensive..roughly $100/person, but so worth it!!!
Had such a wonderful experience at the Ocean Terrace Restaurant this past weekend. The ambiance and views could not be beat, and our meals were out of this world. My boyfriend had the Halibut and I had the Beef Tenderloin (along with gelato and cheesecake for dessert) and we were blown away. Looking forward to coming back next summer!
The atmosphere was awesome sitting outside. It was quite busy and the staff were hopping but things were very coordinated. The seafood flatbread with grilled peaches was outstanding
Wonderful service and experience at Ocean Terrace. We will certainly return in the future! Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and professional. Thank You!
Long delay due to order getting lost in the kitchen. When the food finally arrived the appetizers salads and entrees came out all together. We sent the entrees back. When they later returned they had obviously been put under a heat lamp as they were not hot and were dry. While they were very apologetic, management did not handle this situation well. We ended up leaving without eating our entrees. We hope that ours was an isolated case as we've eaten here before without such problems.
We have eaten at this restaurant in previous years and it appears to be heading downhill a bit. The view is fantastic. The food is disappointing. We tried a few of the smaller plates and larger plates across two dinners. None were particularly enjoyable or memorable.
I would go back for drinks, but I think I'd eat beforehand.
Terribly overpriced. Ordered crab cakes which tasted old, watermelon salad that was small and underwhelming, steak tacos that were not tasty, pizza for kids which was basically sauce and cheese over naan bread microwaved. The special was a fish dish that tasted old and reheated. I wish i drove out of the resort to eat!! We looked for mcds earby after.
Great food, beautiful view, but service was just off. Food came out all at once, and they forgot a entree and an appetizer. No refill on drinks, water. Never did bread services....basically all of the service 101 was missing and it would appear there was no manager running the show to manage it. Food was good enough to give another try, but for mid July, seasonal help is not an excuse.
Along with a couple of friends, I enjoyed a lovely relaxed lunch in this very pretty venue. We were busy chatting and the servers were very patient with us and we never felt rushed. All three of us enjoyed our meals very much.
Beautiful views , get the seafood pizza app! Great service .
We spent a couple of days down at Ocean Edge during the week on a last minute getaway. We had a couple of teenagers with us, and 3 adults. The facility is very nice... it has the potential to be a really good spot. It is fairly obvious that they're struggling a bit with finding help because many of the service staff are from Eastern Europe. To be fair to the help, they try their butts off, and all in all do a very good job given that they are typically just brought in for the summer. We also found them all to be very friendly, which is great. I would advise the management to spend a bit more time with training the help what they are supposed to be doing, and encouraging them to ALWAYS take the initiative, rather than standing around waiting to be told what to do. These young people should be encouraged to put themselves in their customers shoes, and anticipate what they might be in need of. So the bottom line is that I would encourage people to go to this restaurant, but let them know that the service is definitely not 5 star... Management: Step Up!
Lovely setting for a summer dinner outside.
The apps were wonderful & imaginative.
Roasted octopus yum!
Pretty terrace, open air... beautiful summer evening. We shared small plates, called snacks on the menu, more than enough for a meal. Friendly service, nicely paced, we will return.
No better view of sunset as well as great food, drinks and service. Have been coming here since it opened
Well... we expected more for sure. We ordered three courses and asked to have them spaced out. That didn’t happen, first course came and then second course came while we were still eating that. No water refills, no asking if we wanted our other drinks refreshed. The steak was cold and the lobster with squid ink pasta was rubbery and barely warm (it looked pretty). If I had to guess, they fired the mains really early and just them sit. It should be noted we were only there for an hour and 15 mins so it wasn’t like we were dragging our meal out for 3-4 hours. It wasn’t crowed so I don’t know what the rush was. For almost $300 for two people we expected a lot better.
My husband and I along with another couple were looking forward to eating at Ocean Terrace. We were all sadly disappointed. High prices for sparse menu, small portions, inadequate wait staff in an otherwise beautiful surroundings.
Overall not a good experience. we will not return.
Watermelon salad and clam chowder were wonderful! The steak and eggs were good too! Everything was presented beautifully!
The food was good (small portions/no bread served) but lackluster for fine dining....maybe a better place to have a cocktail before you go to dinner. The location and views were great though.
I really wanted to like this place. I've been wanting to go there for a while. But I have to say other than the view being close to the ocean, the service and the food left much to be desired. The prices are high for lunch considering that I got a turkey sandwich with fries and my partner got a tostada with fries and a cup of clam chowder. The total for lunch came to over $50. I've had better turkey sandwiches in other restaurants and the tostada was actually a pita bread that had been toasted and was very chewy. My partner is vegetarian and when he asked if there was bacon in the clam chowder the waiter most assuredly said -- no I'm sure there isn't. Upon taking the first spoonful it was discovered that there was indeed bacon in the chowder. The waiter was told and he apologized profusely. He did ask if anything else was wanted so my partner said how about dessert? But at the end of our lunch, he had to be reminded that this was offered and then said he had to ask his manager first. So considering everything, it was a disappointing experience and we won't be going back.
Our second visit and it was just a great as the first! Steak and eggs were delicious, perfectly cooked! My friend had the burger and remarked at it's great flavor and loved the side of crunchy fries. We loved the whole experience, outdoor eating, with a beautiful view and excellent service.
Great view and food was delicious and very well presented.
The resort definitely. The restaurant no. Food was mediocre at most. The staff at the resort was excellent. All the staff at the shark bah was excellent. Especially kelly
