Celebrated my birthday here. It was a nice set up with a very classy setting. Lots of elders there though. Did not seem to attract many young folk. Food was good. And service was excellent.
The food at Ocean Club is consistently delicious. Our server Terry was amazing as well. One of our favorite places.
A good fine dining choice. Professional service, strong drinks, fair assortment menu, food well prepared and presented. The Friday night we attended offered live entertainment for an older generation. 2 for 1 dinner special between 5 and 6 a great value if an early dinner works for you. We saved $35 on that deal!
Calamari, shrimp & lobster pasta & fried lobster tail all delicious. Great hot rolls too. Nice atmosphere with lots of locals.
I had a lovely experience at this classy restaurant. Our waiter, Michael S., was incredible. Truly gave amazing service the entire time. Recommended great entrees and dessert. I’m definitely planning on going back and requesting to be in Michael’s section.
Congrats to the Chefs!!! Food was amazing. Server was great but needs to be more knowledgeable on wines. Music was great which made our night.
Place was romantic for a dinner.
Overall I highly recommend to take your love one there for dinner.
Thank you so much for coming in to see us and for letting know of your 5 star experience! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Excellant food and service. Would highly recommend for nice leisurely dinning. Bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp was wonderful!
Very nice overall. Zero consideration for social distancing. Food was fantastic. Slightly dated atmosphere.
Excellent food and Service!!
We made reservation 32 hours in advance, asking for a private seating on a Friday at 6:30 PM. The next day we received a call asking us if we want to cancel!?! We did not cancel and asked again for a private seating. At the restaurant we have been placed in the middle of the traffic area. We asked again for a private seating only to be told that due to social distancing all those empty tables are not to be used. Fact is that in less than half hour all the private tables were made available to others. In less than an hours all tables were in use. The staff obviously was less than honest with us, in particular. Service was awful and I wished we've left that place before placing an order.
Food was great, drinks were great. All around 10/10
One of our favorites in Destin. Always try to hit it early in the trip and a Friday or Saturday if possible when there is frequently live music. Has an old world charm and level of service, but in a reasonably comfortable setting.
The service was excellent but the meals are kind of expensive and the food wasn’t that great! The daily fish special was bland. The soft shell crab had too much batter.
Very nice place.
Awful. The shrimp cocktail smelled spoiled and was obviously frozen. Then we waited over an hour for a snapper with the “special sauce” on the side. The waitress barely spoke English and couldn’t tell us what the “special sauce” was. The fish came an hour late and was covered in almondine and the sauce. My wife literally had nothing to eat except a roll.
Then it took 15 minutes for a “manager” to come over. He was obviously just another waiter with an apron on. I think he came from the kitchen. It took another ten minutes for our bill and they still charged me for mine and her drink. Absurd. We will not be back.
The food was amazing. Our waitress was so nice and really took care of us.
Ocean Club is the best Destin restaurant for great food and a good time in an upscale environment. The live music really made for a fun and lively dinner experience. Outstanding and we will definitely be back!
This was a great experience. From the valet to dinner. 5 stars plus. Loved it
We had recently read reviews about the Ocean club that were not so positive. We’ve been there many times before and was always a good place to get a meal at a fair price. Our experience was not so good this time. I ordered a fillet that was not a very good quality and it seemed like it had been pre-cook. Will not go back again
Very nad and poor service
Outstanding food, staff with outstanding service! Thank you!
The veal was excellent. Grouper was very good also. Nice variety on the menu. We will be back to enjoy Ocean Club.
Only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is because I had to send my steak back because it was overcooked but when the new one came it was perfect and the fried lobster tail I had with it was outstanding.
Well I’m disappointed to report that it was awful. This place back in the day was so good. Let’s start with the service. She was a short dark haired girl with a bad attitude. She was one of the few wearing gloves or masks. Most everyone else was wearing protective gear. That just makes you feel uncomfortable when most of the other wait staff and door greeter was wearing them. Next up atmosphere. Played Lionel Richie music over and over and depressing because it was empty. Lastly food. I would frequent this place in the early 2000 and up. It was a hot place and had great food. I had grouper almondine. Smelled fishy. Vegetables were not fresh and the rice with it was like the kind you get from a microwave. My other guests couldn’t eat their chicken parm. Not fresh chicken and rubber. The other grouper was topped with crab and shrimp and stunk. The salad was from a bag. Basically a terrible food experience. Lastly, the place smelled like a fish market. Fresh fish doesn’t stink. That is when I should of left the building. The whole time I was waiting on Gordon Ramsey to pop out on a edition of kitchen nightmares. It gave me that feeling and the food is awful. Sorry to see them go but no way they can stay around unless they reimage and renovate the menu and fire the cook and some staff. Too much competition now in the area.
Hostess turned waitress for the night was bubbly and friendly but not sensitive to my dietary restrictions. A sign in the front says that masks will be worn by servers only upon request. We prefer servers and kitchen staff to wear masks but didn’t want to make a scene so didn’t mention it. We don’t think it should be an option during a pandemic.
Wonderful romantic atmosphere for a date night! Food and cocktails were amazing and the staff was courteous and accommodating. We have dined here before and we will definitely return!
We were pleased to find out that certain dishes were buy one get one free if ordered by 6:00. Check the menu online for pricing. The grouper was excellent as was the Top Shelf Margarita. I had a crab bisque as an appetizer that was yummy. Bread is also
Served. It was very nice inside. We were right at the front. The only problem was that 2 employees kept yelling back and forth between the bar area and the hostess stand about their upcoming schedules. I really don’t want to hear all of that while dining. I would go again - especially since they take reservations.
Not sure why they charge $35 for a burned steak that tastes horrible.
The service is far worse. Waited 5 minutes to be greeted by our server. Waited even longer for the check.
Waffle House would have been better service and food than this place. Save your money.
Skipped dessert as we just wanted to leave.
The food was outstanding & our server Robert was awesome. A very classy place & great atmosphere.
I had a reservation for 3+ weeks for this restaurant. When my party of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) arrived for our 7pm reservation, the restaurant was only at about 10% capacity (maybe 5 occupied tables). The hostess seemed scattered and had us wait while she wiped/sanitized 5 menus. She then asked if she could split our group, seating us at 2 4-top tables to ensure social distancing (which of course is not required within a family). This was a ridiculous request considering there were several tables available to accommodate larger parties (more than 4 - 6, 8, etc.). After I protested splitting my family between 2 tables, she reluctantly seated us at a large round table with 6 chairs. We were seated on a dance floor area with loud Sinatra music playing. With no one around to ask to turn the music down, my husband got up and turned it off himself. Our waitress was very slow bringing menus, taking drink orders, delivering drinks, and taking our dinner order. She was very "short" in her responses and at times was difficult to understand (between wearing a mask and having an accent). I witnessed another one of her tables (a couple) actually get up and head to the bar to order and eat due to the lengthy wait for service. Our server never checked on us after serving the main course (to ensure all was suitable) and we had to "flag her down" for the check. After bringing the check, she proceeded to stand over my husband and wait for payment (until he let her know that he wasn't ready and to come back). Food was fair...reminded me of banquet food...far from fine dining. Ambiance was nice. Valet was courteous, qick, and professional. Overall, this was a disappointing experience.
We went early with two four year olds. When we told them we wanted to go quick so not to disturb anyone. They got us on and out great service everyone was so nice. Food was great will be back.
Great food- however, we made our reservation through open table and received the confirmation email, but when we arrived the restaurant never received our reservation. May want to try calling the restaurant first and making reservations, or at least call the restaurant to confirm your open table reservation. The hostess was very accommodating and prepared a table for us immediately.
We have been going to Destin and San Destin for about 18 years. This was our first visit to Ocean Grill. We attempted to call for reservations and the lady answering just kept putting us on hold and never returning. I then booked the reservation with Open Table. We chose early dinner at 6:15. We arrived and while waiting watched the lady continue to put every call on hold, and then leave the desk and never returned to any call. This was so strange and if it was my restaurant, I would be very upset about this. This same lady told the family ahead of us that if they booked on Open Table, she did not know if she had a table because she could not figure out the internet. Then she came to us and I let her know we also booked online and had a confirmation. She told us we could not sit at a table and only option was the bar. I was very disappointed. We were looking forward to date night with white tablecloths and candle lit dinner. NOPE!
My husband ordered the fish "special" topped with softshell crab claw and it arrived with no crab claw. It did have a few pieces of lump crab meat. The bartender was new, her 5th day, and maybe she didn't know the difference. I had the filet and ordered it medium rare. It was dry and chewy and when I pressed my fork on it to show my husband, there was zero red juices to come out of it. Actually no juices at all. I am not even sure how that happens. Was every drop of juice smashed out of it on the grill? We both had green beans. They were so sweet, like sugar was in them. I could not even eat them. My husband offered me a fried oyster from his plate and I could hardly swallow it. The sauce from his fish special had a seasoning in it that tasted like pumpkin spice. I asked how he was even eating it? If I had ordered that meal, I would have sent it back. He ate about 1/2 and boxed the rest. If you are going to spend $$$$ on a dinner, and want a delicious steak or fish special, I would suggest Seagar's!
Lovely restaurant and delicious dishes. Will definitely go back on our next visit to Destin.
Great ambiance and good food...Our family had a great time! Thank u for taking our pic as well!
Food is absolute the best in the area!
I dine there every time I am in town.
Our meal was very good but our waiter was fabulous! Very helpful and attentive.
Let me start by saying I visited this restaurant on a regular basis for the 10 years I lived in the area so I was excited to be back in the area and made a reservation. Tonight the service was unacceptable and food was less than stellar. When I tried to get the waitress to fix the problem with my meal she went to the kitchen and returned to our table with a condescending attitude and refusal to fix the problem. No follow up from the manager. No further communication from the waitress. Not even asked if we would like dessert.... I have recommended this place on numerous occasions but will no longer be able to do so. In the Destin area there are many fine dining options but unfortunately the Ocean Club is no longer one of those options.
Nadie usaba mascarilla , ni guardaba distancia, estuvimos incómodos y preocupados todo el tiempo. Nada agradable
