Very nice waterfront dining experience. Expensive, but food was great. Portions on the small side but good for a special occasion.
The wait was extremely long to get one of the most underwhelming dinners we have had. Our entree was so bland and came very late after asking several times for some of our food. Finally when I asked to substitute rice for wheat, the rice never came. I have never been to such a scenic but terrible food experience in all of our travels.
This was our third visit to this restaurant, the first time was excellent, the second time was ok and the most recent was very disappointing. The food was good but the service was dreadful. The waiter didn’t seem to know what he was doing, he smashed a glass next to us with the shards going all over our feet and legs with no apology. We then had to stand up mid way through our starter while he swept it, again no mention of an apology. The maitre’d stood next to the table while this was happening and still no apology or even to check we were ok. Other small issues like slow service on the wine, having to ask for the bread (after the starter had arrived) and the wrong meals being given to the wrong people really put me off going back. They said if you get a decent waiter it can be lovely and the view is outstanding.
We had Anil as our waiter. I highly recommend him.
Beautiful location, great food, excellent service - but Bermuda expensive.
Salad was very small. Rolls are fabulous and we scoffed them down and complemented our server and maitre’d but we were not offered more.
Stacy, our wait staff, was outstanding and remembered our names when we saw her the next day
Service was a bit slow. Food was excellent. View was spectacular. I was disappointed that men were seated wearing tee shirrs and shorts. Bermuda was always known for a certain standard of dress, and that was part of its charm.
Incredible views and very good food. The scallops and wahoo were both excellent (although 3 bacon wrapped scallops for $41 is a bit high). Our 1.5 year old daughter got the kids salmon and loved it.
Overall experience was good. Not 5 stars, because wine arrived after food and a glass of red for the main course had to be requested twice.
We love Ocean Club. It’s very expensive, but so is everything in Bermuda. The service and food are fantastic and so are the views! Highly recommend this place.
My husband and I were staying at the Fairmount Southampton and made dinner reservations to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary. The weather was beautiful and we sat outside on the patio. Our server, Niro, was extraordinary. He made us feel very special. When I asked him for a photo, he even offered to take one on the beach for us if we wanted. We got the sushi special to start, and it was the best roll we've ever had in our lives. Dinner was fabulous, as well. A pretty expensive dinner, but we felt as though it was worth it! We would go again if in Bermuda.
Wonderful menu. We enjoyed the chefs special. Beautifully prepared. We were seated near a window with a fantastic sea view.
Perfection!! Best meal in Bermuda! Don’t miss sunset
We dine at the Ocean Club every year we come to Bermuda and this time my food arrived late and cold! However, our waitstaff Mildred who is the sweetest, friendly and most customer service person we have met was most apologetic and took my food off the bill. I told her it was unnecessary since we could see that they were short-staffed that evening. We love dining at the Ocean Club and Bermuda.
Our waitress Stacey was excellent. She knew the menu! The mussels and ceviche were excellent. The Bermuda rockfish and the steak were very good too. The prawn curry was unfortunately bland and should have been served with a poppadum or naan bread for what they charge for it. But all around we would go back.
Don’t eat here - I used OpenTable for my reservation but they never gave me my 100 points for doing so. Any restaurant this disorganized can’t be trusted.
Perfect evening with great food and excellent service!
On the beach at the Fairmont Southampton resort. Seafood-orientd menu with a nod to non-seafood eaters. Very nice presentations that enhance the experience. Modest wine list with choices at various prices by the glass or bottle - we found several that appealed to us. Professional and Bermuda-friendly service at tableside. Managers walked the dining room engaging guests, enquiring as to our meal, and assisting the staff as needed. All-in-all an extremely enjoyable dining experience. Oh, and the views are what we all come to Bermuda to see.
No complaints! Food and service were great! We caught an amazing view of the sunset. Make sure to sit outside!
Unfortunately, the restaurant opened a few days ago and 5 of our 6 entree’s were presented but 1 entree they forgot about. Additionally when we ordered desert the excessive exorbitant time was not acceptable to us but the House didn’t charge for our deserts.
Two entrees were superb while the others were mediocre. Given their reopening I’m hoping it gets better because the venue is truly magical especially when the sunsets!
Don't get why people like this place. Food wasn't great at all. So many better options on the island
Great good, great service, amazing views at sunset
Great atmosphere and service however the food was mediocre for the price. Shrimp ans wahoo were overcooked and tough.
The Ocean Club has hands-down the best views of any restaurants we ate at on the island. It was just magical – something you’d see in a postcard or on someone’s computer background photo. AMAZING. And then of course the food was fantastic as well! All in all, and A-Plus. We started with the calamari (delicious) and then I had the rockfish and my husband had the lobster thermidor. We were both super happy with our choices. The rockfish was served with banana’s and almonds, which I must confess I thought was weird when reading it on the menu, but OMG I’m so glad I got this dish. It was fantastic. And for dessert we tried the chocolate brownie and keylime pie – would recommend both!
Great atmosphere but very expensive for what you got and the food was just ok--nothing to write home about.
My kids and I spent our last evening in Bermuda at the Ocean Club and I guess you could say we saved the best for last. The views were amazing and the service excellent. Our server was from Australia and was the most outgoing and friendly person which just added to our experience. We had Fried Calamari and then had the special of pan seared halibut with asparagus and cut sweet potatoes. Absolutely delicious. Lastly we finished the meal off with desert. The brownie to share and trio of icecream also very good. Excellent finish to our trip.
We dined at the Ocean Club 2 evenings during our visit and both times were wonderful. The second night was amazing because the weather was perfect so outdoor dining was available. The service was excellent and the staff can not have been more attentive and pleasant. We were celebrating our 30th Anniversary and the waitress brought us a special anniversary dessert. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a romantic dinner with a beautiful view. Thanks Ocean Club, you made our anniversary trip to the Fairmont Suothampton Princess so special.
I would definitely recommend sitting outside on the terrace to enjoy the view. It was so hot and muggy we choose to sit inside where the decor was bland. Food was good. My husband ordered fish which filleted so he had to take apart the whole fish and had some trouble with the bones. Service was very good though..we had delightful waitress!
Great shrimp curry, mediocre lobster thermador. Good parmesan rolls. Very friendly/knowledgeble waittress , people go for sunset dinner overlooking ocean/beach.
Beautiful view sitting up with water view. Fresh seafood was well prepared. Attentive, friendly service.
The best part about this restaurant is that it has an amazing view of the beach. You should sit outside and try to get a table near sunset. The food was good but the second most expensive restaurant we went to in Bermuda and not the second best. For that reason I scored it lower on overall value.
At our table the waitress spilled an entire drink on a couple and their clothing and nothing was even comped.
The Ocean Club at the Southampton Fairmont is the most impressive of their many dining options. (The Waterlot at The Dock is a close second!) Seated outside on the patio, above the beach at sunset was a treat. The atmosphere is enchanting and the service is top notch. This is a seafood-centric restaurant serving locally caught as well as flown-in seafood. All four of us were quite pleased our respective meals which were expertly prepared with bright, fresh flavors.
I was celebrating my 70th birthday.
Couldn't have chosen a more perfect spot. The food was delicious. The view was absolutely beautiful. The service was excellent. Waiters took photos without even being asked. My meal was prepared gluten free & was phenomenal . We will definitely be back . We thank you.
We arrived early and even though it was not busy it took almost 50 minutes to get the first course. The appetizers were lobster based and quite good. The rest of the meal was over cooked. Lovely location but the building itself looks tired. I have t been here for maybe 20 years and sadly won't be back any time soon.
Location is superb, ordered tuna steak, wife ordered red snapper. Tuna steak about 5 ounces tops, could have been tastier, had much better in Boston. Service good, attentive.
We were staying at Hamilton Princess and decided to visit other Fairmont property. We had
reservations at 6pm - arrived about 15 mins early thinking we could have a drink at the bar but
it didn't open until 6. They sent us to the beach bar to wait. Unfortunately, that bar closes at
6 so they were in the process of closing down. We were able to get something but it wasn't
the greatest experience.
The food was good but nothing special. We were also told they had a dress code which for men meant they could only wear shorts if they were true Bermuda shorts (just above the knee). We dressed up and dined with people who came in straight from the beach. The biggest take-away is the following: both Fairmont properties heavily promote their restaurants and they are massively overpriced for the quality of the food. Drinks start about $12 so for two people having 1-2 drinks, appetizers, an entree & sharing a dessert (+the 17% gratuity they include), you're
looking at 150-200.
I wouldn't discourage people from going as the setting is gorgeous - just manage your
expectations. The facility itself is looking a little tired but I hear the owners are investing
in improvements so that's a positive.
I expect top flight if I'm paying top flight for a meal. They failed to deliver.Food was disappointing - had better fish at the Reefs. The service was excellent. View amazing.
Very overpriced, but then again so are all the restaurants in Bermuda. I guess you are paying for the view because the food and service were just mediocre. We felt very rushed by the waiter to place our order. At one point, when we were taking too long to place our order, he just walked away. At these prices, that shouldn't happen. We will not be going back. I would recommend The Reefs restaurant down the road which has just as spectacular views, better food, and great service.
The restaurant is sitting on a Perch above the ocean with great views.
So everything is good before you take your first bite!
We had the locally caught wahoo which was really fresh and then add the butter chive sauce on the side and it's fabulous!
