   Nice atmosphere and food! Service not great, waiter not around most of the time, had to wait for a long time to fill the water, ordered dessert but waited for a long time until another waiter who was not assigned to my table brought out the dessert. In addition, food way overpriced for the area. To attract more business and customers, improve service to ALL customers and have more reasonable prices.

   This is the fifth time we have dined at Ocean Blue. By far, it was the worst experience (compared to every other experience, which were amazing). First, our appetizers were served to a different table. I had to ask the waitress about it after waiting an additional 20 minutes and she realized the mistake. Very shortly after- we got the apps. Then, they served cheese on my sons burger (he’s specifically asked for no cheese to be on it) and my husbands meal was cold. Besides that, the rest of the food was delicious and the drinks were amazing. You could definitely tell that there was a lack of staff and the waitresses were very inexperienced. They didn’t know the table numbers and were walking around with food not knowing where it should be served. Granted, we will go there again but I think that the owners would probably want some honesty based on our experience so I am sharing! Typically, I would 100% recommend dining here.

   We went to Ocean Blue to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Everything from the food to the service was top notch. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants the ultimate dining experience.

   The waitress took our food and drink order. My wife requested the dressing on the salad be on the side. There was a log wait for the drinks, a long wait for the salads, and and long wait for the entrees. My wife's salad arrived with the dressing on it. We would have alerted our waitress to this, but we did not see her again until she brought the bill. That was the last we saw of her. No one came back for payment until the bus service asked if they could take care of it when they came to clear the plates. Very disappointing experience for the price.

   The service was very bad. It took 45 mins to get our drink order and then our main courses arrived, but not our appetizers. The waitress was not attentive to our table. I could see her help g and conversing with other tables but she forgot our table. Food was lukewarm when it was served.

    Great energetic vibe, interesting and wide variety of appetizers and entrees. Got a perfect negroni and a very nice glass of La Crema Chardonnay... Can tell a lot from the attention a place gives to their cocktails and wine list... Food was excellent. We had a trainee and the floor manager for service so it was a bit erratic but not unpleasant.

    The food , both appetizers and entrees were absolutely FANTASTIC! The mixed drinks (I got a Hit & Run, my friend got a Grey Goose Cosmo) were also very good. We were disappointed by our server. She seemed to be in a rush to get our orders and then she never checked on us. Our orders were brought by someone other than her and we had to go to the bar to get more drinks. We had to call someone else to take our payment until she saw us asking.

    Seated on time… then ordered understanding it is Mother’s Day I expected a wait but, we we seated at 12:45 and at 2:30 we still had no food!!!!! We asked at 2 where our food was and the waitress said very curtly it will be here shortly they are backed up you know! At 2:25 I went to address with the hostess. We addressed the issue with the hostess who said they could pack up the food if it was ready. To their credit they picked up the drinks we had and one appetizer for my daughter. I had offered to pay for what we ate. It was sad that I wasn’t able to eat there for Mother’s Day nor any of our guests!!!

    The initial greeting from our server was wonderful. Unfortunately, it went down hill from there. We were 1 of 2 tables at 5:15 on a Thursday. Our appetizers came out relatively on a timely basis. But our main meals took an additional 30-40 minutes, and 2 came out and 1 took an additional 10 min. No appology and no follow up from the server as the time went on. For the money, it was a huge disappointment.

    It's still one of the best restaurants in Utica. Great food, nice rooftop location, and servers are genuinely attentive and hard-working. The problem is that they are obviously severely short-staffed. This is a management problem and not the fault of the individual servers (who themselves are often overwhelmed, yet trying hard to do the best that they can for their guests). Management needs to take notice. Service lapses that ensue degrade the overall experience, which is unfortunate... and unacceptable at this restaurant's price point.

    The drop in quality in both food and service over the past few years has been crazy. This last visit was by far the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Grab a cocktail from the bar and then leave.

    We went to Ocean Blue for Easter Brunch and we were very disappointed in the food and service. We have been going to Ocean Blue now for several years but the last six months have been hit or miss. We waited an hour to be served even though dining room was not busy. My husband and son ordered Rare tenderloin eggs Benedict. Meat came out well done. I ordered an omelette that was cold and was missing toast. All the food was sent back. My dish was recooked and twenty minutes later my meal was brought out. Omelette had very little cheese or ham. My son and husband were still waiting after I finished my meal their food finally came. By this point my husband was upset and my son was starving. And we did not have a family meal. Manager did come by and did comp meal. Priority should be given to recooked meals. Shame as this restaurant used to be amazing and now it is a mixed bag never know what to expect Do not recommend coming for a meal on a Holiday

    Every time I head to OB, I walk away impressed. My friends and I stopped by for a casual drink and quick bite before heading home after work and had a wonderful time. The host was wonderful, our server was exceptionally friendly. Drinks were on point and our appetizers were delish. The restaurant also just donated three sizeable gift cards to a fundraising event I host locally and I am always grateful for their commitment to our community!

    I'll be honest this is one review I do not want to write. My dilemma comes from the fact I've been coming to Ocean Blue for the last few years. Most of the time for their Sunday brunch as well as certain Holidays. If this review was written a year ago it would be five star. One of the best restaurants in Utica. The ambiance, upscale. The menu, something for everyone. And the food, first rate. Until the last year. All of the five star raves still remain true today except the most important and what I feel should be the easiest to correct, the food. Let me clarify. The prices have gone up, the portions at times smaller and service sometimes slow but honestly Ocean Blue is that good where those things can be overlooked. What can't be overlooked is the food. With almost every visit the same problems persist. Overcooked and cold. Almost every single time over the last year. I order steaks at dinner and Eggs Benedict with Tenderloin for brunch. Pretty simple stuff. I order rare/black & blue every single time. You can't make a mistake, right? Wrong. On my last visit it was well done. As were all of our steaks on New Years, on Valentines Day and every brunch. Each time I have brought it to the servers attention, apologies and another meal cooked as ordered are served. Why not the first time. On New Years all of my parties steaks were over cooked. As I mentioned the staff has always made it right but eating after everyone else is getting old. It's a rare steak not a calculus equation. You couldn't try to make it too rare but well done??? Every time??? To be honest I would not bother sending it back if it was even medium rare but there is no excuse for well done. I would love nothing more then to follow this up with a five star review after my next visit. Yup, I'll go back. Things have to change sooner or later.

    We will definitely be back for another date night. The staff was excellent, cocktails on point, and the food was outstanding. If you don’t order the honey cake for dessert you’re truly missing out!
