Great ambiance, somewhat slow service and the salmon I ordered was overdone.
Travis was our server and did an amazing job. The atmosphere was fun, intimate, and romantic. The food was top notch. 10x over would recommend!
Great place, great service and great food. Totally recommend and will definitely return.
Neighborhood gem! Fun, energetic restaurant with great outdoor seating. Almost like being at the beach!
We went to O&A to celebrate Mother's Day on Saturday night and sat outside. Great setting and the service was very good. The food was good, nothing exceptional. All in all though the experience was very nice and we will definitely be back and try some other dishes as my wife and I both got the special, so maybe it was just that dish that night. Thanks.
Great restaurant! Amazing food and service!
Our waiter, Luke, was OUTSTANDING!! He made our dining experience memorable and enjoyable! He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make the best food selections! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable! We so enjoyed our time there and appreciate how amazing of a job Luke did! We will definitely return and make sure to ask for Luke!
In Our party of 5, 4 were first timers to OA. Every one loved their meal. We sat outside because The music inside is so loud. Is that strategy to push people outside? We had a lovely evening but will only visit on pretty days.
We had a great time at Ocean and Acre. Five of us had multiple appetizers and entrees. Our waiter Justice was great!
They had a wonderful complimentary birthday gelato for the table to share, sparkler and all!
We arrived promptly at the time of our reservation. It was almost 20 minutes before we got seated. It was another 20 minutes before anyone greeted us or took our order. We placed our orders, and there were errors. My burger wasn’t cooked correctly, and was served with onions, which I’m allergic to. They brought the wrong side. They didn’t bring my husband a side at all, and our friends’ steak frites were way over cooked. Overall, it took us over two hours to eat our meal. Incredibly disappointing experience.
Airy indoor and outdoor space in the new Halcyon complex one exit north of Avalon on GA400. Innovative, mainly seafood, dishes served artistically. Non seafood types will find enough on the menu, too. Hush puppies were great as was the salmon and snapper. Portions were adequate, but not overly so - so don't expect to share between two people. Our waiter, Mo, was a hoot, and he made us feel comfortable with conversation and attention.
From beginning to end our experience at Ocean and Acre was wonderful! The service, the food and the whole atmosphere was just a great experience! Highly recommend it, and we will definitely be going back!
Very Slow service , average food , great atmosphere
Dinner was good. You can’t go wrong with oysters. They are a must.
Amazing experience from start to finish. Amazing food (grouper and crab cakes for appetizer), service and location. Will be going back. 👍
Service was very good. Drinks were not very good. Oysters were very small and the manager comped them. Otherwise everything was very enjoyable.
The patio is perfect. Only been there two times, both times sat in the same booth and had great service and great ambiance. My only criticism is the dinner portion could be a little larger. Oh, and Hushpuppies to die for! Had to get a second order.
Anniversary celebration. Service was very good. Drinks service was very slow but dinner was fair. Potatoes were cold and grouper was overcooked. They were very good about redoing the meal and it was fine after. They were very apologetic and were very good about reducing our check. We would come back for a second try.
Amazing spot NOP. Delicious food and drinks and always consistent. Bar can be a bit slow on weekends but worth the refreshing drinks. A local favorite we visit at least once a month. Love how the GM greets everyone at the door. Also a non mask friendly environment. A nice change!
Experience was fantastic! Food was very very good. Lobster roll was to die for. Great place!
We were looking for a special meal for our anniversary and had been looking forward to trying O&A. We started at the bar... $48 for two drinks and some calamari. Calamari was okay but nothing special. No type of sauce was provided like you would typically get with calamari.
For the appetizer, we got the fish dip and hushpuppies. The dip was very fishy and was served cold. We should have gone with the crab cakes. The hushpuppies were okay but very small.
For dinner we had the catch of the day (grouper) and a lobster roll. I tried my wife's grouper and did not like the brown sauce that covered the otherwise nice piece of fish. If it were sweet, it would have been good but it was more like a brown gravy.
The lobster roll was smaller than others I've had and the meat did not have a lot of flavor. We also think it was our server's first or second day on the job. He tried but was not efficient at all. My iced tea came with 2 or 3 small ice cubes each time he brought it to the table. We had to ask for a glass of ice twice.
Maybe your experience will be better but we will not be returning.
Excluding evening and we brought a guest who was over joyed with the restaurant food etc.
plus two mangers stopped by our table made a great impression
Looking for good seafood? Come here. Ocean and Acre is always great. The menu isn't huge. But what they have, they do so well. The fish is fresh, the sides are delicious, and the starters—let's just say that the clam chowder fritters are unbelievably good. The restaurant is open and airy, giving the feeling of being by the sea. That said, the place can be a bit loud, so if you're looking for a romantic evening, book and early reservation. Shout out to Lauren for excellent service!
Seems like the service & quality of food is not what it used to be. Had the doors open and it was 62 degrees outside, so was cold inside. Took a very long time to get drinks, food kept being delivered to different tables. Runny risotto, surprised they would serve it like that.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance! It's an indoor/outdoor restaurant.
Appetizers came out before water or drinks and they were hot on the outside but cold on the inside.
One of our top 5 restaurants. Love the lobster bisque and the grouper, salmon and scallops. Will be back often. Great atmosphere indoor & outside dining. Service has always been wonderful.
Our entree and appetizers came out at same time. Server took entrees to kitchen to put under a lamp. When food was brought back out it was cold.
It’s a shame the service was not good because the food was good. Staff + management needs a lesson is listening.
We took our grandson there for special meal, so his reaction reflected through us. He likes calamari and I guess it was good as calamari goes. He did eat some of it. He then got the kids shrimp. Too heavy breading and a little over cooked. We are accustomed to a very light batter on the Gulf Coast. I had the salmon and my wife had the grilled grouper sandwich which pretty good. If we return again, we would be very careful with what we ordered.
Limited menu. No shrimp dinner options. No trout, limited fish. No baked potatoes or baked sweet potatoes. Steaks not prepared properly. Small portions...Orders prepared incorrectly. Wrong salad served.
Very nice place and great food.
The service is excellent
Strongly recommend that place
Great place to sit outside. Food is excellent but tables are closely spaced and atmosphere can be a little noisy. Would highly recommend.
Not good. I felt bad for our poor server who was busy but come on. We got to the table and we sat for almost 20 minutes from when we ordered drinks to when they arrived. The Old Fashion I ordered was more like bourbon flavored water and was nasty. I decided to switch to wine to save myself from their bar tender and I saw my glass of wine sitting on at the station for almost 35 minutes. I was DONE with my meal before she brought it to the table. I tried multiple times to catch her attention to politely point out that it was there but she never looked over at us.
Then their was my wife’s dinner. She has a few food allergies so she just asked them to hold a few things from the plate. Nothing special. No substitutions or special replacements. Just hold a few things. Instead they brought the plate out with nothing held. Again it took forever to catch the servers attention. They brought it back to the kitchen and and 5 minutes later the her plate came back out. They obvious did not refire a new pork chop for her. Instead they rinsed off the gravy, pan seared and made it tough as nails and disgusting looking. That was the last straw for us. We definitely won’t be back. The only reason they didn’t get 1 star was that my scallops were very tasty.
Excellent food, drinks, and service. One of our favorites!
My Wife and the scallops and they upset her stomach
Great service. Excellent food. Overall awesome experience. Will definitely return!
Service was slow, but food was amazing and so the atmosphere.
Food great as always. But problems with drinks. Bar was out of Bombay gin, out of Tangerey, had to send back substitute house gin which was terrible.
Singer, Ace was good, but too loud. This morning as my second visit in a month. May try something else next time.
