My husband and I dined at Ocean 99 last night. We had a nice and friendly Ukrainian waiter. I was going to order shrimp tacos but he spoke so highly of the shrimp snd griits entree that we both ordered the same dish And we were not disappointed. It was delicious!!! As was the blueberry snd corn cake for dessert that was recommended to us. Never had that cake before. I bake a lot myself and i was very impressed by the cake’s flavor. I also enjoyed the dirty martini with hot sauce and blue cheese stuffed olives! Our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. We live on Long Island New York and are very fortunate to eat out often. The food at Ocean99 was on par with the restaurants on the Island snd in New York City. I highly recommend Ocean99 to anyone who desires a wonderful dining experience.

Great new restaurant in Bethany. We had a great outdoor table with a beautiful view of the beach. Our server was amazing. Food and drinks were great. We will be back!

Food was good but they seem to have issues with the kitchen. Very long wait for dinner and when it arrived only three of the four entrees were served. The fourth came after the three of us had finished. To their credit they took it off the bill but it was overall not a pleasant dining experienced

We thought we were lucky to snag a last-minute reservation at Ocean 99 on a Saturday during a holiday weekend. But it's more likely that everyone else read the reviews about the poor service here. One appetizer arrived 15-20 minutes after the others, and only after we asked about it. We saw one of the drinks we ordered sitting on the bar for almost 10 minutes after all the other drinks at our table arrived, but when we asked about it, the waitress said it was still being made. We later watched her walk over, pick up the drink that had been sitting, and bring it to our table. A waitress also handed one diner a spoon with her thumb in the middle of the part that goes in your mouth. The entrees finally came an hour and a half after the start of our reservation. Some of the food was very good - the beet salad was delicious. But the Cesar salad was massive, whole leaves of Romain with no dressing. One diner asked for no cilantro on her dish, but it arrived topped with gobs of it. We saw another party that was seated after we arrived get up and leave after no one came to their table for 20-30 minutes.

Ocean 99 has taken the place of the old Sophia by the Sea. This is a good thing, particularly since it is (allegedly) inspired by one of the chefs at One Coastal (very good). This is more casual fare so don't make any comparisons and you should manage your expectations. That being said, I feel like it's new and they're just getting into the swing of things. Very little was done to differentiate between the two restaurants. It's like they changed menus and signs and moved in the next day. The outdoor patio floors should have atleast been power washed. The restaurant looks old and weathered. As I strolled through the inside, I noticed 80% of the tables were without food telling me the kitchen was backed up. The servers struggled to keep up as well. The food is not bad, but not fantastic enough to entice me to return. I understand and expect growing pains, but there are many other options at a higher price point that would be more worth the time and money. Perhaps time will help make this restaurant rise to its potential b/c it boasts a great location and very nice ambiance.

New restaurant, clearly working out the kinks. Crab cake all filler, left 3/4 of it. Manager noted they had had challenges with the provider and were changing sources. Pork chop bland at best, vegetables not recognizable, just a mash of something. Would have thought one meal would have been comped, but not. Burgers that others ordered looked very good. Thought overall a bit pricey but perhaps other menu items are better. Best in location on the Ocean in Bethany. Hopefully they will improve over time.

Second time dining at this restaurant. Most recent experience was poor. Though we had a reservation and seated on time, the kitchen was super behind. Our server was polite and did her best to keep us happy. Reservation was at 8pm, appetizers arrived at 9:15 and the main course at nearly 9:45. Three of the menu items we requested were out. Seems like better management is needed.
