Ocean 60 Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I were staying at One Ocean and a local friend recommended Ocean 60 for dinner. The menu looked good and it was a short walk over so we were looking forward to it. The restaurant was busy and quite loud, but had a nice ambiance. We reviewed the menu as we waited for our server to come greet us and had already made some decisions about our orders. We were disappointed when the server made the disclaimer that they were out of the filet and the the fresh catch had changed from red snapper to trigger fish. These were the items we'd selected. So we made some alternate decisions and also ordered a bottle of wine. Shortly after, the manager came to our table and apologized that they were out of the wine we'd requested and suggested another from a similar region and offered to honor the same price. As we drank our wine and after a long wait, the server came out and said the kitchen was backed up so it was going to be a bit longer before we got our salads. I asked if we could at least have some bread. We ultimately enjoyed our food, but it felt as if we were settling and each time the server came to our table he was going to bring more bad news.
The restaurant made accommodations for one in our party to have a vegan meal. It was a nice meal all around. Please keep the vegan options coming. The only gripe was our seat placement. We were near the door and it was drafty every time anybody opened the door. This made for cold breezes up the back leaving us chilled to the bone.
I will definitely come again. Looking forward to the next special occasion to share a special meal at Ocean 60.
My wife had the Salmon and she loved it. I had the Ribeye and was disappointed. The Ribeye was a very generous cut of beef, and it was cooked they way I ordered it, but it was not a quality cut of beef. It contained an inordinate amount of gristle and it was tough and chewy. It was not an item I would recommend or order again. The accompanying Blue Crab Mac and Cheese was delicious. To compare with other restaurants, the sirloin at North Beach Fish Camp, although smaller, is one of the best steaks I have had in Florida, and it is $19. The Ribeye at Ocean 60 is $31. We love Ocean 60 for the service, the Happy Hour martinis and the other items we have had on the menu. During other visits we have enjoyed the, meatloaf, shrimp scampi, brussells and pork carnitas and the firecracker shrimp. We were also comped for my birthday desert, which was nice. We will be back, I just won't order the Ribeye again.
GREAT dinner from start to finish. Scott was our waiter; he explained all the specials, was efficient and playful. Nice addition to the excellent food. Stand out dish of the night was the escargot so make sure you go hungry enough for apps and entrees. Love this place!
The only reason this is a 4-Star review instead of a 5-Star is that one member of our party had to send his steak back to be cooked a little more. Otherwise - we had a wonderful, attentive, friendly & enthusiastic server (but not over the top), were seated at a cozy table with a nice carved wood partition that made it feel private, and had great food, which was served promptly and accurately. It’s a little pricy but a good value. We’ll be back!
Once again, Ocean 60 was a charm. We are never disappointed with the food or the service here, and it's become a staple of our restaurant rotation, even though it's a 20 mile drive from home. The service is great, and the options for seating - in the bar, in the dining room, and outside, give you lots of choices. The menu does as well, with lots of regular appetizers and entrees that are unusual and wonderful on the palate. Four pages of martinis and a good wine list outweigh the limited spirits selection, and after a drink and appetizer, the entrees continue the upward trend of the experience. The staff take obvious pride in their preparation and the chefs do a great job of creating unique mixes of protein and sides that blend to create amazing flavors. There's a reason we go back. We've never been disappointed with anything from the bar to the outstanding dessert drinks. Highly recommended.
So once again it’s New Years Eve and Ray and I had dinner at Mariella and Danny’s. Nice festive yet low key vibe; just our style. Thanks again for figuring out my gluten free options ; what would I do with out you guys. Love Ocean Sixty Happy New Years to all of us.
Went to Ocean 60 for New Year’s Eve dinner. The service was not wonderful and the food was good but not as exciting as the regular menu, understandably. Also not many options that night for healthy eaters. Looking forward to going back under normal circumstances.
Really enjoyed the restaurant- our server was exceptional and the food was delicious, we look forward to returning. My only complaint was the noise- it was incredibly loud (due to several guests near us) so it was hard to carry on a conversation. Once a few tables left it was a delight.
Haven't been in years. Discovered excellent food and incredible service in a place we could actually hear each other talk! Had a drink at the bar before our friends joined us and bartenders very nice. Good happy hour ! Our dinner waiter was awesome/ attentive and made sure we got out in time to see our play at 8pm. But the food was the reason I'll be back again. Really good! Try it!
First visit. Seated immediately upon arrival. Great happy hour prices on a variety of martinis. We had the classic gin martinis, and they were well prepared. Meatloaf at the top of the menu was a must try only because it is not normally found on fine dining menus. It did not disappoint. Meatloaf is finished on the grill giving it a nice char, and is topped with carmelized onions. My wife had the scampi, and she enjoyed her meal as well. Service was attentive and prompt. We ate in the martini bar section of the restaurant and it is quite loud during happy hour. There is a more intimate dining room which we will try on our next visit. Overall 4 out of 5 stars.
It was our anniversary and went to Ocean 60 for the special event. They had inserted paper covers into the menus wishing us happy anniversary and offered champagne for each of us. The meals from the specials were delicious and our server did an outstanding job.
Do not sit in bar area, this was our second time to get seated with large extremely noisy group in the bar, could not hear each other talk at all. We opted for outside, manager would not seat in other room, said request it next time. Meatloaf was hit, service was courteous and fine.
Food was absolutely outstanding. Only two complaints: 1. Extremely noisy. Unable to have comfrotable conversation. 2. Server kept touching my and my wife's shoulder. He wanted to
be friendly, I guess, but he certainly invaded our space.
Because of these issues, we will not return.
