We celebrated my hubby’s birthday and he got a card and bday cake. I thought that was sweet. We enjoyed our food. It was amazing and the staff were really great, helpful and friendly. We are definitely coming back. O 44 will include in our faves❤️

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary after being long time fans of previous amazing experiences. I had booked this reservation only a week in advance and had been slotted for a “bar” reservation. When we were seated, I was initially pleasantly surprised that we received a table rather than a seat at the bar. However, I don’t think that was worth the downgrade in service we received. Things started out well, we were greeted by a sweet, seemingly attentive server. However as we were waiting to put in drink orders another server came over to take that after we waited some time, and at that point he mentioned the original server had to leave due to an “emergency”. When our wine arrived we then were greeted by a THIRD server who said she would be taking over. It definitely felt like we were forgotten, or a table that every server was responsible for yet there may have been a lack of communication on who was supposed to help us with what. We had very little interaction with all the servers and the wait time to put in our orders was longer than normal. This is so different from how it usually is when we dine here, and because of those past amazing experiences that makes this subpar experience stand out so much more. The larger party seated next to us gave us an unexpected ambiance of 1000 coughs which was also not what we expected or would have chosen if given the choice. While I understand that’s not the restaurant’s issue, it was another disappointment. If the service had been better it probably would have been something overlooked. It was apparent that maybe there was an understaffing or overbooking issue?! At least the kitchen killed it, as the food was truly amazing per usual.

From the time we entered the restaurant a sense of what to expect was 5 stars. The welcome, the display of fresh seafood and the ambience… the vibe. Once we were seated, we had the option of white or black napkins. The glasses and stemware were spotless! I forgot my readers… no problem! Our server brought over a case of reader glasses so I could select a pair to use to read the menu. Awesome!! Best of all, the food and drinks were outstanding, and the service was excellent. A follow up from Ocean44 was made the next day asking us about our experience. So impressed! Other establishments should check this out to understand what service is and should be! We loved our dinner at ocean 44. We came back from a ballet performance downtown Phoenix, and we could easily get a table, even at 10PM. The restaurant was still very lively. Not many places in Scottsdale seat you at that time. The food was amazing and perfectly cooked. We had salmon and scallops. Best scallops i have ever had! The service was outstanding. Efficient and friendly, but they never rushed us. Music was perfect volume, nice and you can still have a normal conversation without screaming at each other. We loved it and will be back for sure!
