It was our first time in, and Nate helped create amazing cocktails and experience for it. My fiancé even asked him to create an off menu drink he would enjoy with free reign over ingredients and it turned out great. Would definitely recommend. We did not get to try the food.

The food was incredible and the drinks were very tasty! However, our service was slow. They could have used two bar tenders with a full restaurant. Sitting at the bar on a date wasn’t conducive to conversation so request a table if you want to chat with your date!

The crafted cocktails and service were excellent. My only complaint was that it was very dimly lit. It was difficult to read the menu and ultimately see our dishes when served. We put our trust in the kitchen and everything was wonderful!

Great variety of craft cocktails utilizing high end ingredients. The ‘Black Math’ cocktail is outstanding. Make sure you get the warm goat cheese to go along w/ your drink. You won’t be disappointed!

Overall, a good experience. The 1st bartender was great! Talked and interacted with us and made great drinks with suggestions and explanations. The waitress seemed bored and distracted. We had to ask for a menu, had to ask if we could order and flagged her over when we wanted to order more side plates. This was unnecessary for a small location. 2nd bartender and next round was ok.

Obstacle No.1 is our go to date night. The bartenders are amazing, and are so fun to watch. The food from next door at Poqueto is always great. It's a place we will continue to visit over and over.

Apps and drinks are thought out and delicious. Came a few weeks ago and made a return journey faster then I anticipated due to the excellent drinks and apps. The service is great as well. Price is higher but I’m happy to pay the cost to keep a place of this caliber open. Would highly recommend.

This was our second time at Obstacle No. 1. The cocktail menu is extensive and everything we tried was delicious. The brussels sprouts and whipped manchego appetizers are our favorites.

Such a fun experience! The drinks were delicious. I got the Dr. Hyde and Clover Club both were great, my husband got the Obstacle No. 1 and Black Math and he enjoyed both. As far as food goes we got the truffle fries and bacon wrapped dates-outstanding! Not a ton for the price but they were devine. Would highly recommend for a date night, only down side is you definitely have to have a reservation as there is not a lot of seating.

Happy to say the food was delicious. Kudos to the chef! The combination of ingredients used to creat the appetizers complimented each other well. The bar tenders Victor and Nate’s talent for mixology was obvious in every sip of our cocktails.

It seemed like there needed to be another server so the bartender could mix drinks. He didn't seem too interested in trying to sell us anything but our first drink. It was different than other experiences we've had there. I like the dark vibe to some extent, but a little more light in the summer would be nice (only there during winter before) and at least enough light to read menus. When we left we saw seating outside with "Ob 1" on the statue in the center, but it wasn't made clear (or offered) that sitting out there was an option. THat'd be nice to know. It was a lovely day out so actually would've prefered that this time if it was an option.

Late May I made reservations online and put "anniversary" in the notes, but upon arrival my husband and I were seated at a narrow, cluttered bar. About six dimly-lit, cozy round tables filled the rest of the restaurant, and none of them were occupied. When I asked if we could be seated elsewhere, I was told parties of two are always seated at the bar and we might get a table next time if we ask for it in the notes of our reservation. With all of their hype for providing a romantic, upscale environment, I certainly did not feel the love as a customer, so we left. After a few days I reached out to this business via Facebook Messenger, letting them know how disappointed I was, but they still haven't replied. So, if you want to be a warm body who fills a seat for them, you're in luck. That's all you'll be to them.

Our favorite place in Holland! We’ve never had a bad experience at Obstacle No1. The drinks are amazing. Pricey, but honestly worth it. The bartenders make every drink with care and will create a drink for you if you don’t see what you want on the menu. We’ll be back soon.
