OBON + Sushi + Bar + Ramen - Tucson
Oban is still good for sushi and ramen, but not quite as good as when it opened. The sushi rice I had with 4 pieces of nigiri and one tuna roll tasted dry and stale. It's a fun place to go, however.
Great happy hour!
Great place for date night! The ramen is so filling and tastes perfect. The sushi was AMAZING and beautifully plated
I made a reservation for 8 for my birthday and they gave me an outdoor table. They said I had to call to get a table inside. Our waitress was great. Food was ok
Amazing place with amazing workers and amazing food!
Delicious food- great service. We were a few minutes late and they accommodated us and got us out in time for our show 45 minutes later, and we never felt rushed:)
Food and service was outstanding. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.
The food came out very quickly but our entrees were served before we had time to finish our cocktails and appitizers
I put the note in our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday but it wasn’t addressed upon seating or by our server. A “happy birthday” would have been fantastic. It does ask when making the reservation so I figured it would be recognized.
The overall service was good. The patio was a bit chilly, no option for heaters, but it was a random chilly day!
Food is always delicious!
Overall a great dinner, just disappointed that the birthday wasn’t recognized.
Loved, loved, LOVED IT!
Thank you for a memorable Mother's Day.
The Jalapeno Albacore Crudo was very delicious, I would definitely like to come back and try more signature rolls.
My husband and I went there for dinner because I wanted sushi. Ironically, we both ended up with a bowl of ramen. I had the shoyu ramen; he had the Obon ramen. We made the right choice. We also ordered the spam bun for appetizer, that was another great choice. The mix of spam with pickled cucumber and kim chee created a flavor explosion that made my taste buds happy. My husband and I still raved about the ramen broth hours after dinner.
The restaurant is a little hard to find following Google Maps because it’s literally at the intersection facing three streets. I had to call them and ask where to find them. Once there, the staff was super friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing.
Overall, we had great food and enjoyed our dinner experience. We are planning to go back soon.
It took so long to get our food. When it did come out only one person got their order. We had to wait additional for the other to get the food. Overall it took 30 min to get our food
Outstanding food quality. Delicious taste, perfect place for date night or just to enjoy a wonderful meal. Had the vegetable eggrolls which came with a delightful sauce that complemented it and gave it a real kick. The OBON edamame is a must, the sauce is so unique. The Aji salad was refreshing the perfect amount of food and a great value. My husband enjoyed it too sushi rolls, shrimp tempura and a California roll and both were generous portions and top-notch.
The food was amazing but could not be saved by the poor service. I was with a party of three and my waiter brought us two glasses of water instead of 3 for all of us and never asked my youngest if she needed a drink the entire meal. Those glasses then sat empty and unfilled for longer than they should have throughout the meal. Each one of us ordered a roll and mine came out approximately 15 minutes before my daughters rolls leaving them to watch me while I tried to wait for their plates. I would never eat here again.
Sushi was great. Ramen was good, but not great. Cocktails were delicious. Very loud (but should be expected at that location between two loud bars).
The food here is fantastic. Sunday has happy hour all day, so that was great. Unfortunately they changed their drink menu and they took away my favorite drink, Gangnam Style! When I asked, they said they didn’t have it, but it might be featured one day. Weird that they didn’t just offer to make it. Otherwise everything was great!
Great food! Get the OBON Edamame! Surprisingly quiet for being right as you enter downtown.
Great food! Good music. Excellent service. 10/10 will dine again
Once you park, everything is great! Parking can be troublesome. Fabulous Fuku wings, and we know wings since we spend summers in Buffalo, NY. The rainbow poke was spot on. We’ll certainly be back often.
If you want a Downtown place to go for American Sushi, go to OBON. The place is located on the corner of Happening way and in walking distance to Fox and Rialto. The bun is to die for... I ate three. The rice is salty though and expect it on your Nigri or Sushami.
Second time there and every bit as good as the first time. Took my son who is at school there as he had originally found it and we also had his elder brother with us. Really good food , very efficient service, great location and would definitely go back as it provides both quality and value.
It was good just not a lot of variety. Definitely, not WOW! If I am downtown I would not be opposed to going but would rather try something else...
Ramen was delicious but the pot stickers were so-so. Our waitress was fantastic despite having too many tables.
We have been returning to oban for two years. It has been consistently tasty and delightful. The poke bowl is our go to dining delight, but the new calamari appetizer is something we dream about having again. The sushi is very fresh; the Uni creations are creative and so good. The servers are always helpful. In the summer we want to eat there daily! We are happy to see more vegan and vegetation options such as the jackfruit steam buns which are amazing . The only issue is the loud volume but even that doesn’t deter us from returning to this fabulous restaurant.
Amazing food, service, and drinks! I can't compliment the service enough!
They have the best cocktail culture in Tucson! Love trying the different steamed buns the different sushi rolls. Very creative food. Hamachi fresh and delicious.
The Bibimbap is fantastic!! Get a side of kimchi to go with it - an absolute bargain at $3! Less of a bargain, and not worth a repeat is the monster roll. It was fine, but $14 for 5 pieces of roll is too much. Hubby had the poke bowl, rainbow version. Delicious!
I usually love coming to Obon with my friends, I love it so much that when my dad came to visit for a weekend I wanted to take him there. Usually the service is pretty good but when i went with my dad, it took forever for our waiter to come to our table and it wasn't too busy. My dad ordered a beer that took 30 minutes to come (after our food) and when he asked about it the waitress was very rude and then continued to be standoffish the rest of the night. We also ordered sushi, my dad asked for wasabi and ginger the waitress very rudely said it was coming. when she brought the wasabi, she didn't apologize but instead slammed it on the table, wouldn't make eye contact, and walked away rudely. I was super disappointed in the service this night.
The restaurant was really busy and our food came out in spurts. It was ok because we were enjoying our conversation. Still it was awkward to watch each other eat.
Innovative fusion menu. Great variety
Wished for plum wine.
Visiting my son, who is a Freshman at U of A. Thank you for providing a perfect setting to a great memory.
The server/chef was very kind. The food and drinks were really good!
Great food and good service. What more do you need ?
Delicious as always!
The sushi is so fresh & just fabulous. One of the best in Tucson.
Never disappointed when we go. Food was great. Service was great. No complaints
Downtown Tucson’s parking is always a nightmare so be prepared to buffer yourself a good 15 minutes to find a spot for yourself before your reservation.
The food took a while to come to us when the majority of the items ordered were raw. Refills included. Our server appeared to be overwhelmed with tables and was not easily accessible when we needed something or the check. In total we spent about 1.5 hours here for dinner.
The food was good for being landlocked. We’re in a desert and expecting grade A sushi is not a reality here. The Salmon sashimi was however obviously frozen and borderline gone. It was slightly slimy, mealy in texture, but still somewhat edible. I don’t like sending food back to be a pain. I didn’t end up ill from it so it was ok. The tuna poke bowl was much better. My family enjoyed the hot entrees they ordered.
This is my favorite place in Tucson. The staff is very inviting and friendly, helpful.
The food is perfect, best ever.
