   The menu is great, there are choices for everyone. Everything we tried was outstanding and beuatifully presented. The service was prompt, professional, and very good. The ambiance is also great, OBON has done a great job with the decor, which is casual, modern, welcoming, and at the same time, manages to convey upscale. I especially mention this, because after having moved to Tucson a year ago, and hearing now it is such a culinary destination, I have found very few restaurants with the right "vibe". Yes, the food is great in many places, but the rooms themselves tend to be either fast-food casual like, or something out of the 80's (stuffy, outdated, and full of old people). OBON was so refreshingly modern and elevated. And, again, the food was top class. Can't go wrong with this place folks. Go!

   The Mother’s Day buffet was not worth the $65 they charged per person. Plus we had a reservation at 2:30PM, our other guests showed up at 2:40PM and at exactly 2:59PM the waiter told our party of 8 people that the buffet was being put away at 3PM and they were switching to the regular menu. We were trying to eat fast and didn’t have the opportunity to eat some of the dishes like the meat table they had setup because at 3PM it was being taken away. We had high hopes for this place since it was our first time visiting it. They charged us the full price. Also , the waiter told us the drinks were included in the buffet price but they charged then separately and the waiter denied that he said the drinks were included. I remember asking him twice about it at the beginning. We will never attend this place again. So dead our Mother’s Day was not to our expectation.

   There’s not much space to wait when they are packed. And the food did take a minute to come out. Outside of everything else great experience…will definitely go again.

   We waited 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us after sitting down. Then another 20-25 minutes for our appetizers to come, it took two times of asking for our drinks (they came after the appetizers started coming out). The people next to us came in 15 minutes after us and got four mixed drinks and food before we got anything. Definitely felt neglected the whole time. :/

   One can not say more about the food and drinks at Obon in Tucson. Perfectly delicious! Disappointment in where our reservation table for three ended us sitting by open patio door. Servers and guest used the space between our table as a pass way in and out of restaurant. Might as well have been seating on a busy highway. Our order was placed wrong so one of our guest sat while others ate. No idea why this occurred for our server repeated each order. Guessing it was input wrong. Not the best dining experience. Will return for our drinks, salads soups and sushi we’re outstandingly delicious.

   Really good flavors! The sushi rolls were original and delicious. The ramen broth was top notch! Everyone was super happy with their choices.

    4 out of 5 stars — The reason for 4 stars and not 5 was due to our chef - who really didn’t give us the experience we were looking for (a show, personality, engagement with patrons).
