Great service and food, really enjoyed it. The pizza was delicious. The mozzarella appetiser was great too.
Love coming here! Came for New Year's dinner with my boyfriend and they were so friendly and the food was to die for! We came back this past week and they remembered us and treated us like regulars. Will definitely be going back for future date nights.
Really Good authentic Italian food.. Mozzarella haven.. great charcuterie platter... pasta ..good value
All around great service and food!
EVERYONE was at their best!
Amazing food and unparalleled service. I’d be returning again.
Wonderful place with excellent cuisine and pleasant staff.
Incredible time. The food was phenomenal; our server recommended everything and there wasn’t a single thing suggested that we were unhappy with. I would absolutely visit again. Great last, enjoyable night in Los Angeles.
The service was exceptionally warm and welcoming. It was quiet and you could
actually have a conversation which was fantastic. No one made us feel rushed
or hurried. The food was okay. I would try it again and perhaps order differently.
This is one of the gems of LA. Authentic Italian food and run by Italians. Excellent service food and ambience. Go!!
Bad service, worst pizza ever eaten (no kidding!)
The food was AMAZING!
We’ll definitely come back!😍
Reception service and atmosphere are great in this restaurant.
However quality of food was mediocre.
Risotto was watery, lacking taste. Pasta with duck ragu was ok but not great.
Mozzarella was cold.
Generally good but food needs a lot of improvement.
Very commercial kind of restaurant. Albeit Valentine’s Day and I’m sure busy, we had poor service, a cold setting (even after asking to be moved and promised we would not be affected by outside door constantly opening and closing), mediocre/overcooked/mildly flavored food, overall deflating.
Honestly not impressed. Service was very slow and seemed like there was some confusion or lack of communication amongst the wait staff. Not to mention seating was really tight. They tried to create a large table next to us to accommodate the additional guests. The guest’s hood was so close to our table that when he leaned back it touched my wine glass... food was also nothing to write home about. Maybe my expectations were too high?
Staff very friendly and very accommodating. Food was excellent
Michele Fadda and his team provided a stellar birthday celebration. They went out of their way to celebrate and accommodate the five of us in the rear of the restaurant which has the great view. Our waiter and bus people were phenomenally wonderful as was the consistently great food. Do not miss this neighborhood restaurant that just happens to be smack in the middle of the internationally famous Sunset Strip.
warm, welcoming and attentive service in a modern ambience. outdoors seating is available. Simple, authentic Italian food that allow the ingredients to shine. excellent food, the pappardelle with duck ragu and tiramisu were my favorites
I eat out a lot and rarely bother to write reviews but this place deserved one!
I cam with a large group to try out their dineLA menu. We didn't end up eating the set menu and just ordered individual dishes instead but the experience was amazing. The owner and other staff took the time to fully explain the menu (80% of their ingredients are imported from Italy!). Service was exceptional, food was divine and the view was beautiful. Definitely coming back here again on a warmer day to enjoy the outdoor patio.
protip: there's free parking in the private lot in the back!!!!! ya i know crazy for LA
The food brings me back to Rome; fresh, delicious, and authentic.
Our return visit to Obica turned out to be a better experience than the original one in every aspect possible.
We came for Dine L A and it did not disappoint. The variety of entres in the Primi section was succulent like the offerings it provided. I enjoyed the polenta , a hearty dish especially prepared for this season. Then I ordered the Branzino for my secondi, and it also delivered. But the best was yet to come . The selection of dolce was impressive. With 4 varieties, it was challenging to pick one but I believe I made the best choice with the panettone and mascarpone cheese, whipped so exquisitely that I thought about ordering another one. The wine pairing was adequate. Cant wait to return. Obica is a hit with a fantastic menu and great service. Bon Appetite!!
Fantastic food and excellent service. We made reservations for my sons 12th bday and everything was great, from the wines to the desserts. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
THE SEVICE IS EXCELLENT! The wine list could use some improvement but still good. I am absolutely going back.
Have dined there many times, food and shrive always top-notch. Great, fresh ingredients, authentic Italian food. Indoor and outdoor seating, right on Sunset Plaza, so a good people-watching place, too!
Food was good, wine list was very good, space was perfect.
Great friendly service 👍
One o the best locations in LA....their cocktails are off-the-hook amazing! great people watching....
Highly recommend the chicken Milanese.
It is wonderfully L.A.! Half of the cost, not including tip and tax, was for wine. They had a special relationship with an Italian winery so a wonderful Barolo was ordered instead of a regular wine list entry which has some beauties too. We were not in a hurry and eating outside in November with a space heater was perfect. Service was neither great nor under the microscope so it worked out very well. Food critics are too often full of themselves and their own.... Sure, it is pricey compared to the standard fare. Want to get engaged? Want to impress your child or child's fiancé with casual finesse? Want to take your own relationship up a notch or just feel right that life is good? Just want to not be bothered and have a relaxed time? Be happy, be surprise free, be generous, be at Obica...after dusk. Life is good. Five stars where five stars is obtainable and rounding is upward.
Loved it. Food was great and had a wonderful time. We sat out back and felt like it was our own private restaurant.
Thankfully one of the few restaurants that does not use garlic or have garlic in the kitchen.Having a garlic allergy is always challenging and of concern.
Obica is a great space in a fun area. Beautiful bar area in back with a view of the city. Great people-watching in front on Sunset Blvd. Food is good, particularly the mozzarella and salumi sampler to share with a group. The eggplant parmigiana and the lasagna were excellent, mushroom pizza was just ok.
However, service was appalling. We watched in shock as a waiter spilled an entire pizza on a man at the table next to us, which knocked the beverages across the table. There was barely an apology!! Later, one of my dining companions mentioned he smelled marijuana on both the male server who had dropped the pizza and on the female server who was supposedly our waitress, but who pretty much disappeared for the bulk of our meal. Despite repeated (5 or 6) requests, we had difficulty getting the water refills and we ended up ordering less than planned because no server was around and we had to leave for the show. An item ordered "on the side" didn't arrive until after we had finished the rest of the item. We were dining early, pre-theater, so the restaurant was not crowded. This type of service should not have happened.
Next time, we'll go to Petit Trois a couple of doors down!
I've eaten here many times and realize that this experience is a negative stand out and not the norm, but I felt very disappointed in the experience.
We ordered the Mozzarella appetizer which came with a smoked mozzarella in lieu of the ricotta. They were out of ricotta, which is fine but wasn't explained to us at the time and the smoked mozzarella is rough on the palette and not the one which should be duplicated in the absence of ricotta. They were able to switch this out for another cheese and it was fine.
Before I could finish my sentence ordering my main dish, the waitress walked away. Just gave a totally bad vibe. Our food came out - gluten free pasta - and both dishes were severely undercooked. My boyfriend had to get up to get the waitress's attention and she seemed angry at us when she took our food away. It was clearly just heated somehow and came back, still a little tough and under done but we were both really hungry and just ate it.
The check came and she had discounted $6 from our tab. Given how rude she had been the entire evening, we just quickly paid and left.
Unsure what the deal was, as I've never had a poor experience here in the past, but this was just through and through a really bad experience.
I'm not alone in experiencing ridiculously slow service here. To be fair to our waitress, she was the only one waiting on over 10 tables at lunchtime. Food was poor. Wont be back for lunch. Their Happy Hour however has always been fun, the small apps great and the service prompt. Weird.
Food is good but service is slow and inconsistent, albeit friendly.
I was not impressed with the food, specifically the burrata cheese was not as good as others I’ve had.
The food was absolutely amazing. Everything was fresh and flavorful.
Amazing dining experience, owner manager was incredibly warm and inviting made us feel as we where having dinner in his home, all staff was great and food was superb .
Food took forever to come out. Food ordered missing ingredients - looks like the kitchen was cutting corners. Server never got what we asked for and basically ignored us until it was time to pay. Saw the same thing happen at the table next to me. Nice location at Sunset Plaza, but I doubt they’re going to be around much longer with this level of service and overall confusion.
Not what I expected. Service was slow even tho the restaurant wasn't full - when I saw how empty it was I knew it was a red flag. The bruschetta looked like it was made by a twelve year old, came on the same bread as the house loaf that they give you for free, and was super small. The fried mozzarella balls were so good, basically cheese sticks for 15 bucks. Main was a steak which was good but took forever. Michael the front of house was nice and took care of a wandering drunk guy who approached our table. The espresso was pretty much a drop - smallest one I've ever seen...what is this a espresso for ants? Desert also the smallest portions I've ever seen, the puff pastry was super tough. I had to use a knife. Would not go back.
Great place. Spencer is always helpful and friendly.
Simple but very tasty Italian food based on fresh ingredients, expertly prepared. I had a superb selection of mozarella and other appetizers, followed by a truffle pizza which was excellent, accompanied by a bottle of Rosso di Montalcino. The Tiramisu was one of the best I have had in Los Angeles. The rest of the table including three children also enjoyed the food very much.
