Great fresh food. Great wine list. Very warm and friendly service. Would go again for sure.
I’ve recommend obica to several friends and we all agree. This place is simply fantastic. Dinner is always delicious and the service is always quick and pleasant, no matter who is serving us. I gave this place 5 stars hands down.
A stylish interior, delightful staff and well made cocktails.
Obica has a very friendly and accommodating staff. The food os delicious and the wine suggestions on point.
Magnum wine is very nice. Good service. Food is good.
Good food and cocktails. The pizza is delicious! The duck Ragu pasta was great as wl
1st New York vacation - we now Obica already from Milan. :-)
Caught them on a bad day - the pizza oven wasn't working. But lunch was good, service very good. Straight up Italian.
We went to Obica to celebrate a birthday and we ordered about 4-5 apps and each person had a dish as well. My biggest complaint is that the portions here are embarrassingly small. I would say the dishes are more “tasters” than actual dishes. We each got a pasta dish as well and I thought that they had mistakenly split the portion between me and my friend. They give you a mere spoonful or two of pasta, which really baffles me because we’re not talking about caviar or filet mignon here. My friends had to order additional side dishes as we were all still hungry. In fact I left the restaurant very hungry in the end, which is crazy considering the number of dishes we ordered and this is an Italian restaurant. In addition to this, the prices are so so high for what you’re actually getting. Awful value. Try one of the many other places in the city instead.
I eat there often but had an odd experience. After being seated the manager asked us if we would move to the back because the people at that table had noise issues. I made my resv over a month ago and I had people visiting from Texas, we weren’t a walk in. I didn’t like that the manager said more than once “could we be hospitable” as if we were the ones complaining about the table. We moved to the worst table in the back corner. We had a comp round of drinks and appetizer but I found the experience off putting. It was rude to ask us to move and confront us as soon as we sat and ordered drinks. There was no noise issues, no one wanted the back corner table. I’m not sure why in the full restaurant we were picked to move. The manager is and African American gentleman with chin length hair. A practice that shouldn’t be repeated
Noisey. Was given worse table in the restaurant down the back of the room after having made a reservation weeks earlier. Staff seemed uninterested and going through the motions. Worse Italian experience I have had in New York.
Gathering to celebrate good friends.
The food was not as good as expected. Definitely leaves something to be desired.
This is one of my go-to restaurants because it is not fussy, not expensive, not noisy, but delicious and classy.
I have been here before and the food was always normally good. I love cheese so I keep coming back for the burrata/mozzarella selection. The burrata was delicious as always, but the bread tasted stale (it was very hard), the eggplant main dish was inedible and when we told the waitress about it, she wasn't able to do anything about it, and the ravioli just fine. The prices are too high for the food to be garbage. I was very disappointed and won't be back!
Yummy. Burrata was awesome :)
Obica serves some of the best food my husband and I have had in a long time. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. Clearly the staff is well trained. Despite being busy, we were not rushed. Be forewarned as the noise level is quite high, making it difficult to have a conversation with table mates. However, the food makes up for the noise level.
Welcoming, lovely restaurant, great barkeep, Alec & service. Tolerable noise level.
Warm and friendly as always, food was delicious
OMG - so much fun. Went for a Blackboard Eats recommendation. Sat at bar for a happy hour drink special and never left. My friend and I made some new friends at the bar and stayed all night. The bartender K was super great and so was Fabrizio. We shared some of the pizzas and bruschetta were delish.. already planning our next visit with our new friends!
True Italian atmosphere
Honestly, I’ve been there many times and it was one of my go-tos in the area. However my recent 2 trips have left very little to desire. The soups (all of them so far), have barely any flavor and my parmigiana was under cooked. Never going back. :/. 2 visits that I have issues are enough for me.
I was disappointed. The food was slightly below average, under seasoned and lukewarm. Seemed halphazarzdly thrown together. Our waiter paid little attention to us, often sending other waiters or busboys to come attend to our needs. Found this deal on Pulsd- $99 for 3 courses. Not worth it at all, won’t be back.
Worst meal I’ve had in my time of living in NYC. The mozzarella tasted like glue. It was an inedible meal.
Food comes out way too fast. Makes me think that everything is already prepared and just thrown in the Microwave. I may be wrong and will give the benefit of the doubt, but it is served in less than 2 minutes. In fact, was probably just around 1 minute for our appetizers.
I recommend Obica because the food is very good.
Specialty wine was tawny. Food was OK, does not stand out in as far as either inventive or classic. Just fine. For the $$$, customers will expect more.
A post theater dinner with limited time, so menu choices were limited to small bites.. Food was served promptly and was excellent. This was our third visit and our previous experiences were consistent. Definately on the list of go to places.
Food and service were wonderful. The Burrata was perfect as always and I enjoyed the Eggplant Parmigiana.
Loved the uniqueness of the menu, and the ambiance.
Wish the mozzarella bar had a little more flare in its display! Was impressed with the wine list
The food was great. However, the service was very poor. We waited 26 minutes for the waiter to return to take our order and that was when my friend signal to someone to get our waiter. He came and then stated that he was giving us a few minutes. Clearly he doesn’t know what few means.
Also, the bartender was unpleasant. I believe the staff needs some training in customer service.
Won’t be back at that location.
Good deal at $21 for the 2 course meal. Mostly soup & salads but fresh and good and a beautiful restaurant.
Very good Italian spot with an obvious focus on different varieties of mozzarella. Appetizer Bufala mozzarella was excellent, though it would have been nice if it had more of an accompaniment than the bread they bring out to every table. The spinach lasagna was very good, if not spectacular. My wife's roast chicken was a bit better than that. Nice, modern romantic atmosphere. Youngish crowd. I wouldn't say it's the top Italian restaurant in an area that has a lot of very good options, but it's a solid choice, and I'm sure we'll be back.
Food was ok, very hot inside and too bright. Menu didn’t offer enough vegetarian options.
LOVED THE FOOD AND ATMOSPHETE! The waitress was so nice and helpful when trying to pick my foods and wine!
best place I've been in 5 years! deff going back the manager was great and servers were super knowledgeable.
La salade était vraiment basique, les portions pas assez copieuses. C’est extrêmement bruyant.
LOVE OBICA! It’s right next to the office and it’s always the first place people want to go for mid-day lunch or after work drinks. Obica has great food, the wait staff are polite, and the wine list is impeccable. Highly recommend.
My go to place. Eat at the bar. Quicker service and less noisy during lunch.
