The food is decent (hard to get good Mexican food around these parts, but it's not bad), but the service is awful. The waitress had taken forever to get our order and got half of it wrong, and the runners practically threw the food on the table. Another waitress who was serving an adjacent table, kept bumping the back of my chair and knocked my purse off the back of my chair several times. The restaurant is very small, so it gets very noisy very quickly (that can't be helped), so it was hard at one point to hear our dinner companions over the din. It was neither a good nor a bad experience - just so-so. We will not go back/
Good service and good food. One suggestion would be to spice up dining room with upgraded table cloths and upgraded table and chairs.
Generally, we love this place. The food and service are both always to our satisfaction. The gratis chips with crumbled Oaxaca cheese and beans (we leave beans off) are wonderful. The service is always good. I generally get the same meal and have never been disappointed. My S/O also gets the same meal every time, but a different one than mine.
I had no complaint about my meal. However, her meal was cold and didn't have the usual quality flavor. She is just the sort not to complain or send it back.
Given how many times we have been there, I am sure that this was just a bad night. We will be back.
The restaurant was recommended to my husband and I. It was extremely small inside but very clean. It was comfortable. Staff was friendly and very attentive. The menu had a nice variety and the food was flavorable. It's a BYOB which is always nice. We would definitely return. Definitely make a reservation.
Fresh and very tasty. I will be back. I had the chicken tings tacos. They were delicious.
Great authentic Mexican food. Wonderful staff and service. Recommend the guacamole!
Eating this type of authentic food was a totally new experience for us. It was fresh and served well. The service was outstanding. However, next time we return we will ask that it be made less "spicey" as we were were surprised by the heat in the dish. I'm sure that those who like "authentic" Mexican food will find it just right for their palates.
Wife and I eat here often. We able to mix and match Tacos/Enchilades for the wife, likes seafood and Vege
ones. Chile Rellenos are good as are the chimichangas not to mention we enjoy the Fajitas as well. Food is fresh and very authentic.
The food was absolutely amazing! Their guacamole is some of the best I have had. I had the mixto alambres for dinner and it was delicious!
Do not let size and decor fool you this place is amazing. When we pulled up I was a little unsure as it looked like the front end of an old takeout Chinese restaurant and there are only about 8 tables total. But the wait staff were very nice and the food was fantastic. I will for sure be coming back soon.
There was no one in the restaurant when we arrived. We were seated promptly and mentioned immediately how warm it was in there. The waitress/hostess smiled and said they had fans. On a humid 82 degree day a/c was needed. The food was good especially the chips and salsas. That was worth the drive for us with the bean sauce on them it was tasty. We enjoyed them very much with the BYOB (champagne) to celebrate my daughters birthday. We both had the enchiladas with the white sauce which was very good and something we had never tried at other Mexican Restaurants. The flan wasn't the way we are used to it was darker in color but not bad, just different. They were out of the tres leche cake so I opted for the banana/strawberry that was deep fried. It was good not something I would get again. Overall, a place we would go to again if we were in the area.
We rate a lot but only write reviews when we feel its merited. I dont want to savage the restaurant in the review because it was a busy saturday night but maybe our feedback will help them improve. We had reservations for 715 and showed up a few minutes early. They did not have a table for us at the time and apologized for the wait, said that they were overbooked and that people were lingering. There was an open table for four right in front of us (two tables pushed together). Immediately next to it was a table for two just getting dessert. After waiting ten minutes or so i asked the server why they could not seperate the 4 table and then when the 2 table departed remake it to a 4 table, and she said that they could not do it. After waiting several more minutes one of the servers went to the 2 table and said something to the guests, the woman at the table gave a look of disgust over in our direction, and i did not hear what was said but i can guess they were asking them to hurry (its not the diners fault that the restaurant did not plan, if they asked the guests to leave then that was horrible). The 2 table departed and we were soon seated. As a note; the 4 table showed up late for their 730 reservation about ten minutes after we were seated at ours, and they were seated right away. As we were finishing our meal a table of 4 came in that had reservations, and from the greeting the server obviously knew them or was familiar with them. There was no 4 table available so the servers, no joke, made a nearby 2 table that was eating their meal physically move to another table so they could seat the 4. I hope they comped the 2 their meal, because if it were me they asked to move i would have not been happy. The food was good but unless they straighten out their table planning we will not be back. Too many other good options in the area
The staff was very friendly but many mistakes made. Bill not accurate. Six dinners came out at different times. Appetizer came out after main course.
A real gem located in Collingwood's restaurant row. Authentic with good service and a byob policy that will make Margaritas for you. The wet burrito with mole sauce and shrimp was one of the best and most creative Mexican dishes we've had! We'll be back!
Our Waitress Megan was very attentive. Chef willing to customize entree for one in our party.
This was our first visit to Oasis. We enjoyed our meal very much. The restaurant doesn't have much as far as atmosphere but more than makes up for it with the food and service. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Our server was friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable especially given the quality of the food. This is definitely a place we would return to in the future.
Very clean and nice Mexican restaurant that is not a smother everything in cheese shop. The guacamole is for 2 or more. We had garlic shrimp and chicken enchiladas in a spicy green pumpkin sauce. Food was served timely and hot. We had a very nice waitress. We ordered the black beans as a side and the serving is fine for $3 but really didn’t have any taste. The guacamole, 2 entres, side of beans and ice tea came to about $50. It is good value for the money and we will return.
We loved the Oasis and will definitely return soon. The waitress was perfectly attentive, food was delicious and fresh, the atmosphere was bright and inviting and the prices were very reasonable. I've already recommended the Oasis to several friends.
We tried this restaurant on a whim because my wife wanted Mexican, and we were tired of the same old stuff near us. The restaurant was small and didn't look like much from the outside. However, the staff were extremely courteous and welcoming from the moment we walked in til the moment we walked out. All of the food was well presented, tasty and reasonably priced. The guacamole appetizer seemed a little expensive ($10) until it arrived and we saw how much they gave us. Well worth the price and an enjoyable start. The decor felt a little like a combination of subway station meets fiesta, but the tables were nicely decorated. Definitely will go back and left the restaurant feeling way too full.
First time here! Food and service were really good! Our waitress was attentive and had a cute demeanor. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back! Good authentic Mexican at a good value!
Rachel was awesome!
Very happy with our meal and the service. Definately will be our local go to Mexican restaurant
Food was excellent, service was just as excellent, will definitely be back.
It is difficult to keep reviewing this restaurant. Why? Because we love it - that's why we keep coming back. It is great for our casual Saturday night and, because Collingswood is a dry town, it is BYOB. Oh, btw, the complimentary tortilla chips are amazing, accompanied by three different sauces and unlike any we've had anywhere else. They are a great way to start the meal, while you casually peruse the menu. Nothing I've ever had there disappointed. And, their desserts - mmmm.
We’ve eaten here many times, have enjoyed it each time. It’s small, intimate, with a good vibe and generally very good, friendly service, generous portions, and it’s BYOB.
AND - bring tequila and they have marguerita setups 😁.
Some faves - flautas appetizer, enchiladas suiza, wet burrito, their mole sauce (even though it was a bit thin this last visit).
We really love this small, family-owned gem, so glad it’s doing well.
The food is always delicious! We come here quite often and are never disappointed!
Great food and great server (Megan) we loved talking to her and she was so accommodating!!!
Went for a birthday dinner but didn’t even bother to celebrate. No ambience beyond the tablecloths. Despite having reservations, the host couldn’t find them and didn’t care to look— just sat us at a table reserved under another name. And then those people arrived & he nonchalantly seated them elsewhere. Such a hodgepodge. My family enjoyed their burritos- different types— but my fajitas were totally bland, lacked seasoning or any flavor at all. Plus they provided 3 teensy tortillas - I didn’t care since the food was so blah, but they did not match the entree size and I had no desire to finish it. I’ve never had bad fajitas before. Wow. Won’t return.
Food was great and the service was great too. The table was waiting for us with an appointment tag.
The restaurant has an attractive interior with many plants and windows to allow for a bright atmosphere. The dining is spectacular; it represents the best of Mexican food - fresh, flavorful, innovative and beautifully presented. My friends, who had never dined there before, loved it!
Mother’s Day lunch was perfect
Delicious! We celebrated cinco de maya!
Delicious food , efficient and friendly staff. It’s my go to place for a yummy Mexican meal. Love that its a BYOB.
I cannot comment on the food as far as this visit goes, because we never got a chance to eat.
This place is not equipped to handle a crowd. They crammed about ten tables in this small location. I had a reservation and all that was available for us was a two person table, but we were a party of three. That table was located directly next to the door on a 40 degree night. We might as well have been seated outside it was so cold. There are only two people working and it took 15 minutes just to come over and take our drink order. A group was leaving during our wait so we asked to move. They were willing to accommodate, but it took them 20 minutes to clear the table. We ended up leaving and went next door to Bistro Di Marino.
Don’t advertise on open table that you have an opening for three people (1,000 point table at that) and then sit them at a two person table where you know they are going to be uncomfortable.
The food was terrible. The guacamole was the worst guacamole I have ever had. The service was just ok. Unfortunately we will not return.
Once again, everything was wonderful at Oasis Mexican Grill. My S/O is locked in on the Crabmeat Enchiladas, while I tried something new - poblano peppers stuffed with ground beef and Oaxaca cheese, apple and pear - and topped with a mild walnut cream sauce. She liked the taste of mine a lot, but thinks it would be difficult to find anything better than her crabmeat Enchiladas.
Oh, and if you like authentic tortilla chips, theirs are as good as they come. Complimentary, they also come with your choice of three sauces - a fiery red one, mild green one and a pico de gallo that is not overloaded with onions, nor is it dripping wet like so many other places.
For Mexican is South Jersey, this has become our go-to restaurant.
PS The servers are always cheerful, pleasant and as attentive as you need them to be.
Service is exceptional. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Food is fresh and authentic. One of my faves.
Real deal authentic Mexican. Try everything on the menu!
Very attentive and pleasant staff. The food tasted very fresh. Nice dining atmosphere.
Make sure you have a reservation because the restaurant is extremely small but the food is excellent.
