Everything was nice - our pastas were undercooked and rubbery - rest of meal was good. We give another try sometime though.
It was too hot to sit on the patio when we dined this time, but I absolutely love the patio for quiet, relaxing dinners and time to chat with friends or family. Service is always excellent and the food is awesome and locally sourced.
Not our best brunch experience. We had a child with us, yet they didn’t offer us a kids menu or ask if we wanted to be seated in their family friendly seating outside. It’s gated and has toys for kiddos to play with which is awesome, but we had to request to be moved there after we were originally seated inside. One would think they would want all their guests with children out there to keep the quiet atmosphere inside for adult only patrons- and it was crickets quiet inside. Brunch usually is a more lively affair and meant to be fun. Very inattentive staff who were frequently on tablets and not actually looking up while talking or just dropping things off at the table and walking away. Food was just ok, the jalapeño poppers were inedible. The filling was spicier than the jalapeño itself! Also started off by saying they were out of certain brunch dish ingredients, but offered no suggestions to try instead. Saving grace was their amazing deviled eggs. Overall just not a great experience for a first visit.
We love this place! Consistently good food and very pretty setting.
My wife and I recently went to Oakwater for our anniversary, and we loved it! When you first walk in the dining room looks sharp. Service was fantastic and the food was excellent. They had a good selection of wine and beer as well. Daniel the Owner and Head Chef came to our table to personally ask my wife about her celiacs and how sensitive she was and was willing to go above and beyond for us if needed. They make their own pasta on site and have gluten free options as well. My wife had the chicken marsala with the gluten free pasts and I had the Spicy clams and sausage pasta. Both were very good and portioned just right. We also enjoyed the speech cobbler a la mode which was also gluten free. We enjoyed the live music they had it wasn't over the top but added to the ambiance. Overall a great experience and I have already recommended it to our friends. If your looking for a new spot in Granite Bay look no further than Oakwater!
My guest and I enjoyed Oakwater and the accommodations. We sampled multiple items off the menu and paired each with wine. Hopefully we didn't overstay our visit. After four hours, it was quite past closing time and the staff needed to clear our table so they could go home. But they were most hospitable and never rushed us.
Very overcharged for what you get. Went there for lunch the waiter gave us a dinner menu that we didn’t know. My friend and I ordered a salad that we split we also the halibut, which was very dry, no bread, waiter proceeded to tell us about the Rose, so we ordered. Let me tell you I left
there, after paying $147.00, I will never go there again.
It was really hot in the restaurant. They also had a band. I liked the band but it was way too loud and hard to speak. I wasn’t wowed by the food but the restaurant is very nice
The ambiance is wonderful and casual! Esmeralda was very welcoming and our waitperson was outstanding. Our friend had the baby back rib sandwich and loved it. Two of us had the mixed green salad the strawberries and added chicken - we were enjoying every bite. The prices are a little high, but we'll be back again just to try other items.
Had reservations for dinner. We were seated right away in a booth, that was our preference. We had a great view of the kitchen. The restaurant is very beautiful and I wish it was cooler to sit out on the awesome patio. Wine list, by the glass is limited but good selection at different price points...accessible. Hubby had the bourbon burger. It came with some sort of siracha aioli that wasn't mentioned on the menu nor was he a fan of it but he ate it anyway. They were out of a few things when we got there....at 645pm. Salmon and halibut were out, their fig balsalmic dressing was also out. Not much else seafood wise was on the menu. I heard about their salmon and couldn't wait to try it so I was a bit disappointed when it was not available. I don't eat pasta but I love love love homemade pasta. I ended up with the chicken rigatoni. The pasta and sauce were really good but the chicken was oddly chunky in the dish and sort of dry. I think if it was sliced thinly it would be better. The chunks of chicken were hard to eat. It was good, however I feel it could be more refined. Next time we will get the meat and cheese board...that looked amazing, and enjoy their desserts. The dessert selection was impressive. Next time....and on the patio.
Portions a bit small but food was great. Music cuts in & out a lot on patio. Awesome patio view. Redone to this restaurant , inside looks very nice
Great wait staff, relaxing environment. Food was amazing
We went for dinner on a Saturday night. Our reservation was at 6 and the dining room was not full. It actually never really filled up during the 2+ hours that we were there. I had the vegetarian rigatoni and my husband got the ribs. The presentation was great. We had the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer along with the fried green beans. We also shared the watermelon salad. Everything was delicious. The service was wonderful. We had a great night there and will return.
Service was great - our server was very friendly and super helpful. Food was overpriced and just average. They did not have a few things on the menu and were out of quite a few white wines. And it was a Saturday night!
Excellent food! Had a great bottle of wine! Service was awesome! We will be back!
Was a little warm in the restaurant. Could have used fans. But overall wonderful experience.
Service was beyond slow. Chef said no tomatoes in June it’s not the season. Although there are tomato’s on the menu. Food was just ok.
Celebrated a friend’s birthday. The outdoor setting was beautiful. The service was very good. The food was good. I had the beet salad which was very good but not very plentiful. I asked if it was a good size and assured it was but I was still hungry after. I should have added meat. The tiramisu was delicious.
I like this restaurant a lot for the location, ambiance, overall food choices.
Had a reservation weeks in advance and they threw us on the side with messy stuff on the side.. no table set etc. menu is way too limited and the food was not good . The music was blaring and not conducive to dinner. We will not be back!
The food and service were excellent. The patio allowed us to eat right in the quarry pond. Beautiful setting!
The menu is fantastic! Great items. locally sourced, and priced well. The Hostess, Esmeralda, is a treat; cordial, knowledgeable, and attentive. Our server seemed new to the business. He did not know much about Chef Daniel, and was not at the same caliber as the menu/food is. Please make your servers as important as your food. We look forward to returning often!!
Food was good and portion sizes were about right. But the ambiance for a meal of this price was a little bit on the mechanical / noisy side. They had two tables for two people each … side by side off in a corner. I think that the placement of them was off putting as those two tables were occupied and none of the other tables in that section were occupied. I doubt that we will go back due to the lack of ambiance.
Excellent service; courteous wait staff...loved the ambiance. The food was five star quality and prepared to perfection. One of the best restaurants in the area.
Great. Portions a little small. But okay. Service was great. Looking forward to going back.
Excellent, friendly service. My salad was excellent and it was a very enjoyable experience.
Seemed like the air conditioning was not working, the wait staff was a bit on the slow side, food was small portions and salmon was mushy
We ordered and sat for 30 minutes and did not even receive appetizers. After flagging down our service he informed us that there was training going on in the kitchen and our food was coming soon. The appetizers weren't complicated (One was deviled eggs) I'd imagine those would have been pre-made. Either way, we walked out after due to the lack of service. On our way our we noticed many other tables had little or no food on them.
2 out of 4 entrees had to be sent back due to inedible food. Horrible steak and expired chicken served. We will not be returning for a second chance.
I wish I could give zero stars. Terrible food. Terrible service.
We were 6 people who ordered 5 different things and we couldn’t decided which one was worse. They were all bad...from the bad quality and chewy meat of the steak frites to the bland, dry and tasteless spring chicken. All of it was bad. Service was painfully slow. I think there was only 1 server (and 2-3 buss boys) in the entire restaurant. Our appetizer plates came 20 mins after the appetizer. All of it was painful.
I wouldn’t go to eat it even if it was free, let alone for the high prices at this restaurant.
We had Brunch the flavors in the Chicken and Waffles were outstanding! Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. The Service was excellent! A definite “Go To” Spot.
Always a special treat to dine at Oak Water. Crab cake Benedict great!
Great place, unique menu and nice ambiance.......
Food was fabulous. The waiter let us chat and didn't push us out.
In fact I was there for dinner about a month ago with my husband. I liked it so much I took 2 of my friends for there birthday. Our server was Joey who was wonderful.
I had been to the restaurant "space" before it was OakWater. OakWater owners did a nice job in warming up the restaurant. They are still pretty new . . . .I would say they have opportunity to still make the space special. The food was very good . . . .my dining partner and I both ordred the Chicken Rigatoni . . . . . .excellent. I had the chopped salad, my companion had the beet salad. I'm not a beet person, but she got the better value - mine was a little bland. Their wine list was nice . . . .good selections I was at least familiar with, with very reasonable pricing. We passed on dessert . . .just too full. Would definitely go back . . . .saw a couple of beautiful burgers go by . . . . . . .wow
Beautiful location and decor was very nice.
server was distracted, had to flag down for help to order dinner and another beer. food was lost , it was like we were in a forgotten corner
Great place for breakfast! Loved the Temple Coffee French Press service. Had the Breakfast Sandwich with smashed olive oil potatoes. Husband had the Breakfast Burger with Egg on top. Food was delicious. The only recommendation I have for the restaurant is to clear the table when guests are done eating. I hate to look at my plate when I'm done, and it was left in front of us until we left the restaurant.
Great food. Great vegan choices. Wonderful service!
Very nice setting and good service. The food was acceptable but not memorable, which, for the price, isn't a good thing. If you go, enjoy a drink outside and then dine elsewhere.
