Oak Steakhouse - Charlotte
Birthday dinner - was wonderful.
Wish they had cast iron steaks like they used to
It was a wonderful night out.. the kitchen was backed up, but once we received our food it was delicious. Staff is amazing! It’s pricey, but worth it!
Megan was wonderful and attentive to our needs. She answered our questions around food and drink.
Went for our anniversary and the service was amazing. We were early and they got us in right away. The food is delicious! Get the Mac and cheese and creme brûlée cheesecake
My husband and I had a drink at the bar which was fantastic. We were seated and were brought water and bread. We ordered from the 3 course summer menu. We each had a salad, a filet steak, asparagus, whipped potatoes, truffle fries, and cheesecake. My husbands salad was missing the Parmesan cheese, not a big deal. We both got our steaks and were shocked to see how dry it was. It tasted very plain with no juice. The asparagus tasted plain and honestly gross, and the whipped potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. The truffle fries & cheesecake were good. Service was a little strung out and long. We will most likely not return due to the cost of the food and the lack of good quality. It was so disappointing!
Went for my husband’s birthday dinner. Got there a bit early and had time for cocktails at the bar—gorgeous setting, well-crafted cocktails. Seated promptly. We shared an appetizer, and both had steaks—I did the filet, I think he had the NY strip. *Beautifully* cooked steaks, obviously the specialty, but I had crab and hollandaise added to mine and even the seafood was ideal.
All in all, a really lovely experience. Food, drinks, and service all top-notch. Not a “bargain” experience, but we’ll be going back whenever we want to feel special.
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The employees were professional, nice, and attentive. The food was fantastic from the appetisers, to steaks, seafood, and deserts were out of this world.
The service was outstanding and the quality of the meal was excellent. I would definitely return and would recommend anybody celebrating a special occasion to go there as well. They provided my wife and I with a complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversary.
We enjoyed a quiet Sunday night at the Oak. The service could not have been better. The quality of the food was great, prepared perfectly. The half shell oysters were outstanding. This was our anniversary and The Oaks recognition of that was outstanding! Avery comfortable and enjoyable evening for my wife and I.
Food and service were incredible! The entrees were excellent and the sides were all very tasty. My only gripe is the exorbitant prices of drinks. When a single pour of bourbon approaches the price of a bottle at the store you are charging too much.
Steaks and sides were luke warm.
This was an amazing steakhouse! A must try
We sat at the bar and had a couple cocktails
We were seated very promptly afterwards
Our server was attentive
Our food was great, delicious, hot food hot and cold food cold
Wine was flowing and drinks were had
Service and food was outstanding. Definitely recommed.
We had previously wanted to try twice before, but had to cancel both times. We made it for restaurant week and have to say, was a bit underwhelmed. The specially priced menu for the week that was posted on line was not what we got - it had changed. The salad was different and a dessert. We decided to sit at the bar and the bartender was great but when our food came the server was having trouble with the hot plate. I asked him for another side item and he told us to ask the bartender. Overall the food was good but I couldn’t imagine going there and paying normal steakhouse prices and getting the average service we got. It was obvious that no one wanted to go above and offer great service. Not sure if they were tired because of restaurant week of if that was normal. Disappointed.
The Oak Steakhouse was suggested as a venue for our family-and-friends get-together by relatives who live in the area but had never previously patronized the restaurant. They were happy with the selection, as were the rest of us - all first-timers. I believe everyone ordered the chef's suggested menu, which was substantially less expensive than al-a-carte ordering but included most items available on the regular menu. The food was exquisite. Those who ordered the suggested wine pairing said it was very good. I ordered a bottle of familiar wine, which was reasonably priced but significantly more expensive than the evening special. Service was extraordinarily attentive, friendly, helpful and professional. We, along with our local family members and friends, have discovered our new favorite restaurant in the Charlotte area. We'll all be back.
This place was better than nearby steakhouses. Food was very good. Service was excellent ! Def worth the $$ during Queens Feast.
This was my first time visiting here and everything down to the dessert was GREAT! I loved the food and will definitely be visiting again.
I have visited Oak multiple times, most recently during the Summer 2019 Restaurant Week, and have to say my overall experiences at Oak have been spot on, from the atmosphere to the food and most importantly the service.
My favorite dish is their 8oz. Filet. From the first time I had it to this past visit, they sure know how to master a filet. Served with Mashed Potatoes and Spinach, heaven!
One of the best Filet’s that I have ever tasted. Nice waiter. Extensive wine list
Service was poor Caesar salad was poorly dressed lacked flavor. Steak was good as was cream brûlée cheesecake. May not return
We went for restaurant week and were so pleased we will definitely be back again. They served the most flavorful tender filet minion any of us could ever remember eating. Excellent chocolate cake too!
4 ladies so enjoyed dinner at the Oak Steakhouse. Service was lovely and dinner very good. Thanks
Beautiful dining room .. impeccable service .. great wine list.
We loved the design of the restaurant and the service we received. We had cocktails at the bar before dinner. It was comfortable, and the bartender was attentive and friendly. We all agreed that we would come back to the bar one evening for the burger special. All 3 course from the Queen's Feast menu were tasty. We ordered salads, tomato soup, filet mignon, ribeye, cheesecake, chocolate cake, and a bottle of their featured wine. The filet was particularly good. It was an enjoyable evening in a lovely restaurant.
After highly recommending Oak, a bit disappointed. My friend and I both order steak. The orders were mixed, giving her my medium rare. Didn't realize till after a few bites, and said it was ok. Disappointed in not having the Olive Oil Cake, wish I bragged about to her and another lady waiting for reservation.
Very enjoyable dining experience. The food, the service, just everything. The manager is exceptional. The hostess was so friendly. The atmosphere is sophisticated. And most importantly, we were never sat for too long without someone checking on us. Spent two hours in the restaurant and never once felt ignored, which I find to be an issue with high end slow paced dining. It’s expected to have to wait for quality food, but sometimes that means being left alone for a while. Any small need or question was addressed promptly and that just made the already delicious food even better. Will definitely be dining here again.
Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Food was under seasoned. I would go back again but do not feel the need to rush back anytime soon.
Attentive waitstaff...delicious food prepared correctly...relaxing atmosphere...makes for a wonderful dining experience. Kudos to the chef!
I went with a group of friends and we all had a great dinner. Everyone that ordered steak thought it was cooked perfectly. The server was knowledgeable and friendly.
Went during restaurant week and my steak was excellent. The food portions during restaurant week were small with the exception of the
filet mignon. I had a female server, and she was fair. I had to ask for refills of my drink. My drink was then refilled repeatedly with unsweetened tea when I ordered sweet tea. I brought this to the attention of the server to know avail. At one point I asked the server for more tea and she left the table and then returned to tell me someone would be bringing my tea. My thoughts were “she could have brought the tea then.” It appears that she doesn’t refill drinks. The manager checked by often and helped in several requests. He was excellent.
I ate here with my daughter for Queen's Feast, and it was delicious. I loved my salad, the salmon and the chocolate cake. We also ordered the brussel sprouts and the octopus as appetizers, and both were fantastic. Our waitperson was Jennifer, and she was excellent. She recommended my wine which was perfect for the meal. She was knowledgeable about the menu and she anticipated anything we needed, seemingly before we even knew we needed it. Overall a great experience!
Fantastic Steak and Wine! The service is top notch and we really enjoyed our dinner. We will be going back soon!
Was disappointed by overall meal. Felt as if it was thrown together perhaps just because of “restaurant week”. Had higher expectations for Oak. Service was friendly and good!
Overall, this is a great restaurant. But at the cost and with so many other options in Charlotte, I would probably not go back. For the same value, many other establishments have a much better ambiance and vibe. This place was quiet, cold and just not “happening”.
Queen City menu very limited. Steak was ok but dry with no sauce. Come on, plain mashed potatoes and a very small portion of cooked unseasoned spinach with the steak. We could have done better staying home. My husband’s Caesar salad had hardly any dressing. We had to send it back. Dessert the best part.
Restaurant week - amazing experience!
