I requested on twice that we have a quiet table with a view. We were seated in a corner in the back of the 3rd floor with barely enough room to cut our steaks and it was extremely loud. I asked while we were there to move to a table with a view and we were refused. This is my 2nd attempt to have a positive experience at OAK. We will not be back.

Great steakhouse! Get the 8 oz Filet with Brussels sprouts! The service was excellent. I loved my red wine Pinot Noir. We also loved the Oysters Rockefeller! The chocolate cake was also excellent!

Was really disappointed with our time at Oak. Our appetizers (oysters rockefeller & scallops) came cold and congealed. Our entrees were better but both sides came room temp as well. Not a cheap bday dinner to leave disappointed.

It’s our first time in Charleston so we asked our Uber driver what restaurants he recommended. This was his number 1 recommendation so we had to try it. This restaurant did not disappoint; the food was delicious. My husband and I both ordered the filet, his with blue cheese and mine with truffle butter. The steaks simply melted in our mouths. We also shared a Cesar salad , potatoes and bacon mac and cheese. These were also delicious! We finished with the sorbet and crème brûlée. Everything & everyone was phenomenal.

Highly recommend the tomahawk steak. Excellent! Friendly and attentive service. Toffee dessert a must. Be certain when making reservations to specify you do NOT want to be seated at either of the 2 tables in the 3rd floor service area outside the actual dining room. Shocking that Oak would consider subjecting guests to a subpar table. Book the right table and I highly recommend Oak for the steaks.

Food was fantastic from the appetizers to the filets to desserts. The crème brûlée was one of the best we’ve had. However the Peanut Butter Chocolate pie was amazing. I would go back just for that dessert. And we can’t say enough about the exceptional service. Our server Adam was terrific - knowledgeable and helpful. You can’t go wrong spending an evening having dinner at Oak. We can’t wait to return!

My steak was WAY over cooked even for medium well. It was CHARRED to the GODS I felt like I was chewing coal, so I sent it back. The sides are not "family size" as they said. Even the other people who were with me didn't enjoy their food which were different items than mine. The waiter was GREAT atmosphere GREAT food not so much. It was my birthday and I wish I just went somewhere else.

Wonderful dinner with family. Our server, Brody, was very helpful in explaining the menu, and he made sure my vegan daughter-in-law was taken care of. We never felt rushed, and the food was delicious. My grandson said it was the best burger he's had in his entire life (he's 12). We will be back!

Have been to this restaurant several times, but this time I was underwhelmed. The service was good but the food was average and overpriced. The noise level made it difficult to talk even though we were in a booth. At these prices, we should expect consistently high quality at all levels. Disappointed.

First thing I noticed was how loud the crowd in the establishment was. It’s an open airy feel so the conversations all combine and the pitch raises accordingly. The waiter was excellent , he’s been there a long time so he know what he was doing. The drinks from the bar were good overall. The family style sides were very small for the charge of the dish. Very expensive with not enough for two people really. That’s not a good thing. Let’s face it , broccoli for 12 should be odor than 6 pieces etc. Then the steaks .,, the Ny Strip was cut well and lean and clearly had quality. However where was the flavor of the meat. I’ve got to many high end steak houses including Halls locally. Every one of them does something good. This spot the crust on the steak was good and it was cut well. Overall I would t go back to spend that kind of money for an average meal in an incredibly cool building. There are plenty of options on the low country for the same or less

It was our first time doing at Oak. We went as a local called if his favorite restaurant in the area. We got a last minute 5:30 reservation. Our local friend told us to ask for downstairs seating because upstairs is boring. We just decided to roll the dice and experience what we given. Well we were given maybe what some people would’ve liked, but I did not. We were led up to the third floor. The dining room itself up there looked nice but the hostess walked us all the way through the dining room and through a little door and seated us in an area on a landing of the stairs all by ourselves. My husband’s view was looking through windows at he third floor dining room. Mine was a drawn blind behind him covering up the building that Oak butts up against. When the hostess seated us she said”you are getting my favorite table”. As she said it I thought they have told her to say that. Like I said some might enjoy the privacy. I myself enjoy views and seeing outside and other people. Our waiter was fine. Nice enough. He recommended the oysters Rockefeller. They were ok, not the best I’ve ever had, lots of breadcrumbs. We did have a nice bottle of hindsight Cabernet blend. We also has Brussel Sprouts, a small cut filet and steak frites. All were good, but combined with our table we were given, I would probably go to other Charleston restaurants for a good steak and comfortable seating. I thinking we probably won’t go back.

We went for a Valentine’s dinner and everything was superb. From our friendly greeting at the door where we were seated immediately, to our exceptional waiter Trevor, we felt very indulged. The only negative was the dessert we asked for Ala Mode, and it was a tablespoon of ice cream. Beyond that, perfection!

We had the shrimp cocktail, oyster Rockefeller, filet mignon, prime ny strip, brussel sprouts and the roasted jalapeño cornbread. It was amazing. The “in good spirits”, the “once pecan a time” and the dessert martinis are delicious! Our server was incredibly courteous. All in all it was the perfect birthday dinner!

Our dining experience was excellent. We were impressed by the care taken by all staff to make our evening special. We were welcomed warmly, as previous customers and neighbors, escorted to our table which was in a quiet room and attended by a waiter who was very attentive and friendly. Our steaks were perfectly made and my husband especially enjoyed the beautifully presented beef carpaccio. Thank you to all for a lovely experience.
