Alex was our waiter and he was great! Dave is always awesome! Food is by far best in Charleston!
We love coming here. The food is always amazing and the service outstanding. Best Oysters Rockefeller that I ever had and you can never go wrong with their steak.
Best Restaurant Week menu, by far!
Oak is by far the best place to get C.A.B. filet mignon in Charleston, period! The serve is top notch and they are always on point.
Always a sure bet but even better for Restaurant Week.
Once again, a wonderful meal at Oak - perfect environment, attentive service and even better food and wine. Will always come back when in Charleston.
Great steakhouse and the service is always outstanding. Dave is the best.
Great evening. Loved the food. Loved the service. loved everything about Oak.
Best food and service and everything! Can’t go wrong going here!!!!!
Everything we had was cooked perfectly! I would recommend anyone go to Oak. My personal favorite was the ravioli
Brody, our server, was awesome.
Great atmosphere, unhurried delicious dining in downtown Charleston.
When we first arrived the hostess was on the phone for about five minutes before she was able to address us. We were seated on the second floor near the balcony. Our waiter was excellent at his job. He guided us in our dinner selections. Ice water and bread appeared immediately. I was disappointed in the bread because it was not very flavorful, a weird texture, and dry. The only time we eat bread and butter is when we go out, so I was let down in that category. We decided to share the dry rub ribeye that was priced at about $100. It was good, but not outstanding and had an aftertaste. We had a couple of oysters each for an appetizer. My Oysters Rockefeller were excellent,, but my husband’s raw oysters were a disappointment. Both of our sides were excellent- fries and bacon mac and cheese. We enjoyed our dinners but Oak will not be on our top ten list.
Took two hours to get our food. NBD if delays are communicated, but our server didn't do that. They did eventually help make the issue right by giving the table free dessert, but still not enjoyable. Once we did get our food though, it was incredible.
Fantastic as usual!
We celebrated a friends birthday that doesn't dine out much. The setting and the ambience were beautiful. I brought her to Oak purposely, because she's an incredibly picky eater, but loves a good steak, and I know the steaks are always top notch. We weren't really in the mood for wine, but our server kept trying to push wine on us. We ordered cocktails instead. We had mentioned maybe a glass of wine with our meals depending on what we ordered, and again, he kept trying to upsell us a bottle of wine. It got quite annoying. He tried to upsell everything, but in a pushy way, not a suggestive way. Even my oysters rockefeller. I ordered 2, he brought and charged me for 3. When he tried to again sell us wine, I finally just said ok to a half bottle. When he left the table my girlfriend said she really just wanted to drink bourbon, so I called him over to cancel that order almost immediately. I said we changed our mind on the half bottle, and his reply was a very sarcastic..."I figured you would". I decided on a burger, because I personally think Oak has the best burger in town, my girlfriend said that sounded really good to her too, so she copied my order. That didn't seem to set well with our server either. Once we ordered burgers, his attitude changed even more and we barely saw him after that. I guess we weren't a high dollar enough table for him to worry about, even though our bill was still $200. The rest of the staff seemed wonderful and filled our waters, cleared plates and were very friendly and fun. The food was outstanding, (still best burger in Charleston), and the oysters can't be touched (THE BEST).
Excellent food and service! Great place for a nice dinner. We will definitely be back.
We have eaten at Oak Steakhouse many times over the past several years, mostly for special occasions and celebrations. The food is always excellent and the specials are amazing. Service is always impeccable. Love this place.
Eating at Oak is always a treat. Chris, who usually takes care of us, is he best. They give us our favorite table and always make us feel special. It is our favorite spot.
Truly outstanding !
A lovely evening perfect way to end our holiday visit.
Great food!! Steak practically melts in your mouth!!
Great food, drinks, and service. Highly recommend.
Was not worth the cost for the food. No ambiance. Disappointed for our anniversary.
Phenomenal food, service and drinks.
Been going to Oak for years. The service last evening was one of the most exceptional ever! Adam was wonderful
Christmas family dinner. It was delicious, every item was on point and we could not have asked for a better place to share some family holiday time. We loved the oysters, steak and sides. So good!
Another outstanding night at Oak. Excellent service, amazing food and always treated like royalty.
We were excited to try this place but the service was terrible and our waiter was very rude. For price, I would have also expected better quality food. Save your money and go to Halls!!
This was a wonderful experience- service and atmosphere were top notch. The food was not pretentious- it was delicious! Filet cooked to perfection, beautiful side dishes, and peanut butter pie that will change your life!
Consistently excellent as always. Love coming here!
Outstanding food and service, especially with large groups present. Continues to be one of our favorites, made more convenient with valet parking.
It was my husband’s birthday and we have always liked Oak ! The food was delicious and our server Adam was outstanding thank you
Incredible food, service and fantastic atmosphere.
Great CAB quality steaks and sides!
First the good… food was excellent.
However, and maybe we don’t go downtown Charleston as often as we used to but for people who used to frequent Oak pre children it is awfully hard to justify a $71 a la carte filet mignon. Add to that we had a 5:45pm reservation because we had 7:30pm theatre tickets and the food took so long we had to wolf it down to make our show.
Excellent food and service
Best steak dinner we’ve ever had! Got the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection!
We had a wonderful time. Alex was great could have been more attentive though
It was not amazing.
First, they tried to sit us at the bar for my birthday dinner.
I asked to be moved, and they moved us to the third floor next to a wall next to the doorway. Wasn’t amazing but that was okay.
The Oysters Rockefeller were not flavorful.
The Cowboy prime rib was so chewy I couldn’t actually swallow most of the meat, it also lacked flavor.
Our server Andrew was very pleasant, but had a bigger party so we had him and then another server who helped out.
We did tell Andrew that we were not happy with the steak, and they did end up taking it off our bill, as well as giving us a couple desserts but no manager came over to talk to us, nothing.
We usually go to Halls where they treat you like royalty, and we just had higher hopes for Oaks.
Service was EXCELLENT! Food was absolutely delicious. Thank you.
Anniversary. Too noisy. Last time for our anniversary it was wonderful, they seated us on the third floor, very quiet, so nice. This time was so noisy on the 2nd floor, we couldn’t hear each other talk. No linens on the table-not worth the money. Besides that the food was excellent.
