Oak Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The food was amazing!! The service was some of the best I have ever experienced. They are very accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly. The atmosphere was inviting, quaint, and unique. We will definitely be back, and I have already recommended it to family and friends!
Wonderful dining experience. Professional service throughout. We were promptly seated in prime location _ top-floor dining room with window views _ for our 7 pm Saturday reservation. Our party of 2 had an appetizer of Oysters Rockefeller. Oysters were big and delicious. For entrees, we had sliced steak and salad, and the fresh catch of the day: barrellfish. The steak on the salad was cooked perfectly (medium) and had great flavor. First time having barrellfish. Excellent. It's a local fish caught in deep water of the Atlantic. Flavor is comparable to Chilean Sea Bass and texture is comparable to swordfish. Perfectly prepared. Upon leaving, we were given a package of two apple biscuits as a thank-you. What a nice touch! The biscuits were good, too. 5-star experience.
Oak Steakhouse is cut from the same cloth as some of the premium steakhouses you will find in Chicago, New York, or Boston. Perfect for a special occasion or to impress a client. My wife and I went for her birthday and enjoyed the filets with crab on top, with a tremendous lobster mac and cheese side. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding, with the price tag to match.
We enjoyed our dinner. With the background music, it was somewhat difficult to hear. However, that did not take away from the overall experience. My dinner date has a preference for rib-eye steaks; the one he had did not disappoint.
Thank you for your kind and attentive staff; that was very impressive and pleasant!
Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was absolutely perfect. From the appetizers of Shrimp Cocktail to the 14Oz special, everything was perfect. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. My companion and I were celebrating and this was the perfect venue. Thanks to Oak Steakhouse, this was a very memorable evening.
We usually go to Oak for Valentine's Day, and when we accumulate points for giftcard redemption on OpenTable. This visit was for the latter. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was quite busy, and they apologized for any delays. Valet parking is convenient and very professional.
1. Oysters Rockefeller
3. Truffle pomme frites
Trust me. Otherwise, the setting is really nice. 1st and 2nd floors are well-lit and actually quite noisy. The 3rd floor, where we ate, is rather dark (almost too dark) and quiet. Overall, great experience. Need a reservation and lots of $$$$$.
Just an awesome meal and impeccable service! We asked for a romantic table for 2 and were seated by the window on the third floor. Really nice! The food was exceptional and our server Dave was just the best! Chatted with us when we asked wuwstiona about Charleston and also knew enough to give us our space as well. Excellent server!
My husband said the Oystwrs Rockefeller were the best he has EVER had, and he has dined at many top-rated restaurants in New York City, Chicago, Toronto and more. He said next time he would make a meal of just the Oyaters Rockefeller! Oh and the carrot cake was divine!! Just a lovely evening and we can't wait to return!!
Staff was very accommodating with seating and finding a shawl for member of our party who was cold. While two of us enjoyed the ribeye very much, I am a vegetarian and enjoyed the most delicious vegetables I have ever tasted. The creamed spinach, roasted mushrooms and Brussels sprouts were world class. Butternut squash soup a little too rich for my taste.
Service was excellent as was the steak. Sides were enough for two. Lobster Mac and Cheese was void of lobster except for the flavor. One would expect to have at least a pea sized bite of lobster in there somewhere. Smashed red potato side was very good. Ribeye steak (med rare) was a large portion. The small fillet was small.
We live in downtown Charleston and dine out fairly frequently. Oak Steakhouse is one of our top go-to, fine-dining restaurants. General Manager Herman NG and Assistant General Manager Andrea Bartholomew do an excellent job managing, to deliver excellent service and good to customers.
Mr. Chris Webber made the dining experience seamless; he was attentive enough without being overbearing. We ask for him each time we dine. We enjoyed a sumptuous meal that began with Oysters Rockefeller, jumbo lump crab cakes, and the mixed grill. We crowned the meal with the moist and flavorful carrot cake.
We were seated at exactly our reservation time. Server was outstanding and Manager greeted our table to make sure we were getting great service. Took my significant other for her birthday and they met our expectations. Looking forward to visiting again soon
One of the best DINING options in a city known for its food. Don't get me wrong, the food is fantastic, but it is the experience of eating here that separates it from others. Attentive but not overwhelming service that is both incredibly friendly AND knowledgable about food and wine pairings. You are never rushed between courses in hopes of turning the table. Rather you can simply enjoy an elegant evening in an amazing setting with terrific food. It is what you hope for but so seldom get when you go out to truly DINE.
