Had a wonderful Brunch. The waiter did a great job of taking care of us. You absolutely must have the cinnamon roll, and we also opted for the fresh doughnut for a start. I enjoyed the Oak breakfast and my wife enjoyed the Chicken and Biscuit with bacon jam.
Bottom Line. if you have the opportunity for Sunday brunch in Alpharetta GA, Oak in Avalon is a Must.
Took my wife here for her birthday.
We had an wonderful experience.
We were the for a birthday celebration. A group of 6 sat outside and the night was beautiful and everything was perfect.
Great spot for a celebration dinner! Brussels sprouts, oysters rockefeller, and tomahawk steak for two were incredible! A little dark and loud
My family and I had a wonderful time celebrating my 55th birthday, everything from the service to the food was amazing. Thank you Stewart for your service in making this day great.
Anniversary dinner! Unforgettable!
Longhorn is just as good, at about 1/3 the cost. Not a “real” steakhouse. Go to Bones, Hal’s, Rathbun, even Ruth Chris but avoid this spot. Very disappointing.
We made reservations far in advance for our anniversary with a request for outdoor seating . One hour prior to arriving we received a call that we could not sit outside because other people had reservations outside . When we arrived we were stuck in the back room with large prom groups . Our servers were Stephanie and Lisa . Lisa was fine however Stephanie was one of the worst servers we’ve ever had . The sides were ok and the filet was average. In the past the food and service has been phenomenal so extremely disappointing that this visit was poor. Adding to this , Stephanie and Lisa 2 times told my husband happy birthday when it was our anniversary . It was clear that Stephanie was burdened by her job. We all have bad days but when you walk into your job, we can all put a smile on our faces if not then maybe it’s not the profession for you.
The waiter that we had this evening was fantastic & gave great knowledgeable recommendations from wine through desserts.
I took my mom out for a birthday dinner celebration and the food was impeccable!
The hostess and the servers were pleasant and attentive. We both ordered ribeye steaks and shared 2 sides: Brussel sprout/cauliflower with sweet chili sauce, mashed potatoes and rolls. The rolls were not our favorite—dry not flavorful. But the two sides were great! The steaks were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was tasty. The cut was ok as it didn’t have much of the classic “outer ring” that a ribeye usually has but tasted good. We are from Chicago which has many award winning, top rated steak restaurants and Oak we felt was good but not the best. We might try Oak again but there are so many other top rated steak joints in GA we want to try.....
Always enjoy Oak - one of my wife’s and my favorites in the Alpharetta area. Just like I always love Oak’s food, I always find myself wishing the ambiance was just a little less loud, a little less industrial feeling, and just a little more plush and quiet. On this last trip, my business party of 4 enjoyed tremendous service and food, and although Oak is still building back its wine menu, we found Cain 5 - 2007, which is so good, we had to order two bottles! Double thumbs up!
Great service and friendly staff. Food was sort of bland.
It was good.
Food wasn’t great service was slow it’s a glorified Longhorns
Lobster bites and oysters were fantastic. Bibb salad wedge and cornbread very good. NY Strip was small and fatty. Sides were small. Don’t get the potato purée. Service was excellent. Ambiance, let’s just say if you like to watch the servers move tables around, it’s the place to go.
This was our first experience with Oak Steakhouse and would definitely recommend and return for great service, outstanding food, and great ambiance. The restaurant is located in Avalon which is a fun walk around before or after dinner. The interior is smaller, but quaint with ample seating. This allows for more personalized service from the servers. There is an outdoor space as well. The bread is probably our only negative. It is a roll per person with some salt on top...just ok. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly and he always enjoys a steakhouse with its own steak sauce! The truffle fries are a must as well. My salad was fresh and good sized. The mac and cheese was slightly bland, but still very good. We also had drinks with our meal. The bill was about $130 which is pretty comparable to other steakhouses we have visited. The ambiance and service was outstanding! Our waitress knew we were new to the area and was extremely friendly and helpful! We would absolutely return for another date night!
We enjoyed our meal and the food was excellent. Our server treated us extra special with champagne and dessert as we were celebrating our 20th anniversary. I was disappointed at the noise level and casual attire. Not conducive to a romantic evening out.
Seated outside at a table for two. Very nice. Martinis with all of us or delightful. We share the octopus to start. Very tasty. Brussels sprouts. Salmon. Oak steak burger. Love those truffle fries.
The food was excellent as well as the service. Sam, our server, made the dining experience wonderful. My wife and I had a very nice evening. We will definitely be going back.
It was our first visit, but will not be our last. Evan was our waiter, and he did an excellent job while attending to us. All around great experience.
The earlier bartender was not cordial or receptive to my requests. Stu came during the next shift and was better BUT he referred to me as "buddy" numerous times that I didn't like.
We waited for over 5 minutes before we were greeted, and then it was a very cold welcome. The restaurant was not crowded, but the wait staff seemed stressed and hurried. The tonic was flat, half the beers on tap were out and a few of the items on the menu were out. The steak lacked any flavor and actually made us sick later that night. Overall it was a very disappointing meal. Service and quality of food were both lacking.
My son and I went for Easter brunch. The cinnamon roll was delicious! I got the salmon carpaccio and he got the chicken biscuit. Everything was delicious, but I didn't leave thinking I've got to come back here!
We ate outside, so I can't comment on the noise level.
For a steak house, this was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. Once the appetizers arrived, the server, who was very polite, thought that would be a good idea to go over the menu, which took a very long time. So our appetizers, which arrived warm, were cold by the time we began to dive in. We decided to split the Tomahawk, which I have done multiple times in many other steak houses before. It has never disappointed until Oak Room. Worse cut of meat I’ve had in a long time for $110. Asked for medium rare and we got medium. We asked for our cold plates to be warmed, common practice in steak houses, and apparently that was too much for the waiter. He over heated our plates delaying our meal even further then never came back to check on us until the end of the meal. Will never go back!
Filet mignon was undercooked and just too expensive! Oysters were tiny. Mac and cheese had little flavor. Loved the Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Chardonnay though also very pricey at $16/glass.
The food was good and just a bit expensive for the quality. Overall very enjoyable.
My wife and I spent our 20Th anniversary at Oak Steakhouse and we had the most amazing time! Service a and steak were absolutely the best I have ever had!
I had one of the greatest servers in the food industry. I had a ribeye in mind. After talking with him I tried the New York strip, and did I really enjoy it.
Food and service at Brunch was so nice. We enjoy the ambiance too!
My husband and I have frequented oak every couple of months over the last couple of years. We really want to love this place, but the food leaves much to be desired. Our favorite experiences are always grabbing burgers at the bar. For a “steakhouse”, the steak is not very good. The quality, cook, and look all leave you wanting more. If you are looking for a great steak, try Little Alley in Roswell and leave oak for your next lunch date.
Kenneth was the best abs the food was superb. Very nice and it was my guest bday and their first time their
Had my team in town... food was awesome.
Had reservations and made it to our table a little early. There was a table near ours and they were obnoxiously loud. Very inconsiderate. However, our servers asked us before we could ask them if we would like to move due to the noise. They moved us and the night went wonderfully. The manager gave us a dessert, on the house due to the inconvenience, and the blueberry donuts and carrot cake were amazing. Steaks were 2nd to none as always. Anytime I’m near Atlanta, I make my way to Alpharetta to have the ribeye and Brussels sprouts at Oak Steakhouse. Do yourself a favor and go there. You will not be disappointed. Thanks to all the staff for their professionalism. See y’all soon!
John provided great service and the food was great
Took a while to get seated even with reservations. Was not sure who our server was, after waiting 15 minutes after being seated for someone to come by the service was cobbled together with different people. They did a nice job once they started service.
Great service, outstanding food and wine.
Good place to have a date night. Happy with everything. The main entree was good but the does felt they weren’t as food as can be. The mash potatoes felt so smooth that was not sure if they were homemade or flakes .
Celebrated our anniversary. Server and other staff were phenomenal! Very nice and attentive. Food was good, however, we would come back for the service, not the food. Brussel Sprouts were our favorite part of the meal.
My favorite steakhouse in the world! Amazing flavor. Amazing service. Must. Try. The. Brussel Sprouts!
