The food was delicious, and they prepared our steaks exactly as we wanted them. Our waiter was fabulous! It was a great place for our birthday celebration. Just know when you go that the check will be a hefty one!

We went to celebrate our anniversary, and they made specific efforts to make it memorable. Our server was Caitlin and she was absolutely phenomenal. The best service we’ve received in a long time, accompanied by excellent, delicious food. We look forward to returning soon.

I don’t think they have enough people to manage the crowd there on a Saturday night. It took forever to bring our drinks. They got the order wrong. Then it took a long time to get our food. The food was not that great especially for the price. It was so little and not fresh out the oven. Again I think the management of the food service needs adjustments. The drinks were excellent and the yeast bread superb. That’s it. Prob won’t go back for dinner. Drinks yes.

Decided to try a new steakhouse for dinner with friends. Was there excited to have the 36 oz porterhouse for two. Unfortunately, they were out of all their porterhouse steaks. The special for the evening however, was a 40 oz wagyu ribeye cowboy steak for $20 more than the porterhouse. Yes please!!! Ordered it medium rare with the black truffle butter. DROOL... We also ordered the bone marrow as our apps. May have been the best roasted bone marrow I've ever had due to the added yummies it came with. The homemade bread was delicious as was the sundae I had for dessert. Oh - and they know how to make drinks. Was definitely a PRICEY night, but overall, we all enjoyed our meal and the evening. I'd go back again to celebrate another special event.

Overall we had a nice experience. Initially when we arrived, we showed up about 15 minutes before our reservation time and we were told by the seating hostess that we couldn’t be seated until our time - which usually I would understand except for this instance because the restaurant wasn’t busy at all and there were multiple open tables. People walking in were seated before us. So I don’t understand that and I was really irritated by that.
The outer facade of the restaurant is all glass windows, which is very nice except for at night when the very bright fluorescent street lights shine in and it really took away from the overall ambience of the restaurant - we ended up having to ask the staff to lower the shades because the street lights were really just too bright.
The food was excellent - although I don’t think it quite matched the prices that were listed. The drinks were exceptional. The steaks were a bit lackluster which is a shame given what we paid for them and the fact that this is a steakhouse. We ordered the Waygu NY strip and the 14 oz. NY strip and the Waygu steak was more tough than the regular NY steak which shouldn’t have been the case.

We might come back, depending on the situations, but we’re definitely going to try other steakhouses first. It wasn’t worth $234 and an hour drive.

Good steak, excellent cocktails, wonderful sommolier. But $360 when hubby and I split a NY strip, no appys, 2 veggies, no dessert, and 1 wine bottle for $98. Value just not there

This was my second time at Oak. First time was fantastic - food and service were amazing. This time wasn’t quite as good. Server was very nice but took over 10 minutes to take our drink order. It was not a busy night and service was slow the entire meal. But again, she was very nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the wagyu hanger steak expecting good things. I ordered medium rare and it was definitely medium if not medium well. Sides were all fantastic and specialty drinks were good. I’d definitely come back based on my first experience and consider this an off night for the kitchen.

Overall, was a pleasant experience. Service was excellent, steak was just right, wife' scallops were cooked perfectly. All staff were very attentive.

Not the experience we expected since we had been before. Our steaks were cooked incorrectly. They did do the right things to make it right, but then forgot to bring the espresso I ordered for dessert, so it was another setback. We will give it another chance though, hoping it is a better experience.

It’s great to have an upscale restaurant in the North end of OldTown. We gave dined here some 4 times and each times the service has gotten much better. The food has a,ways been exceptional.

We used to eat at the Oak in Charleston, SC and when we found one here we were beyond ecstatic! Everything was amazing! Paris our server was perfect and even the general manager stopped at our table to chat. Best meal I have had in a long time!

This place is my favorite restaurant in the DMV area. Nicole is the best waitress EVER - and the food here is amazing. I used to go all the way downtown for steaks now I go to Alexandria (all the way from Arlington). Perfectly charred ribeye, cheesy grits, oysters Rockefeller, and the burrata are my favorites on the menu. Love this place!

After reading positive reviews I booked my husband's birthday dinner at Oak Steakhouse. The food and service were top-notch. The cowboy ribeye was recommended by our server so my husband ordered it and he said it was phenomenal. I ordered the 8 oz filet which was cooked a perfect medium-rare. The rolls were so soft and tasty. The mac and cheese and baked and fried russet potatoes were so good. The assistant general manager came to check on us since he said the food was taking longer than expected. We were so busy stuffing our faces with the rolls that we didn't even notice. I would definitely recommend Oak Steakhouse.

NY Strip and Filet Mignon were both superb and cooked perfectly! The salads and the side of broccoli did not disappoint either! Wine selection was very good, and the bread pudding dessert was excellent! Service was attentive, after we had been seated.

One thing that did make us wonder was that some tables were served bread and others weren’t. We were not asked whether we wanted any, and I did not notice it on the menu.

One constructive suggestion that we would make would be that the lighting could have been much better in the corner that we were sat in. We really could not read the menu at all - Thank goodness for the flashlights on our phones. Something to consider might be to have candles in candle holders that would disperse more illumination.

The waiter, Lee, provided excellent service. There filet was seasoned perfectly. The lobster mac and cheese was good. The lobster bisque was good as well but it wasn't enough bisque.

Been here twice now. First time when it first opened. First experience was not great. Food was good but we waited forever for our food. Came again a second time, many months after opening. Service was still very slow. Waited forever for our food. Food was decent although some of the sides came out lukewarm. Sent them back. This place had potential but there are major service issues that they haven’t figured out yet.

This was our first visit at Oak Steakhouse and Valentines Days as well and it was an excellent choice!! We had a tablet booth near the prep kitchen and it was fun to watch to staff and our wait staff and food fantastic. We're for sure coming back.

Chef was heavy handed with the salt on the steaks. Thought it was just mine but wife's was extremely salty as well. I could see into the kitchen and I watched the chef crush all the steaks with a huge amount of salt. Service was very solid. Sides vastly overpriced for the quantity. About 2 ounces of potatoes for $11 - give me a break on that! Wedge Salad, Lump Crap Oscar and Pork Belly were all very good. Gin and tonic was terrific. Bar area looked nice and would seem like a good option just to sit at the bar and order from the bar menu. Lastly, the chairs themselves were like being at a Wendy's instead of a supposedly high end steak house so I would recommend asking for a booth. Priced themselves as high end but not there just yet on quality. Still a relatively new place and hope they are successful since a steak house should do well in the Old Town area. I suspect they'll keep improving over time. Generally more expensive than Ruth's Chris but no where close to that level of quality, but not so terrible that I wouldn't go back. I just think I'll wait a few months to let them figure things out. Basically, if I'm paying $60 for a steak, I just need to be able to taste something other than salt.

My husband and I had an amazing date night! Luke was our waiter and I highly recommend him. My husband got the NY strip and baked and fried potatoes (Yum!)! I got steak and fries with a side of grits and Brussels sprouts. Luke let us add bacon to the Brussels. Yum! So stuffed, and happy! It’s a bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion! Definitely special!
