We have two semi-private dining areas: One is perfectly situated in the action of the dining room for a sit down dinner or glamorous cocktail party. The second is set off the main bar area and can accommodate a cocktail party for up to 25.View Private Dining Details
Drinks are pretty pricey but overall great. Food was very good and service was pretty good.
Fun night with wife and young kids. They ordered off Kids menu and were pleased. I had the mushroom gnocci while wife had the bacon cheeseburger. Had a great glass of wine and a cocktail too. Enjoyed it completely.
This is a breathtaking space with old world ambiance. Friendly no -stuffy service with pricey but well made cocktails. Avocado and crab toast and Brussels weee quite tasty small plates. Scallop entree very solid but I thought the healthy swordfish portion was a bit dry. Lobster roll quite solid and nicely toasted but the fries were fine but nothing special.
We waited too long for our waitress so the manager noticed and came over an apologized. We were pleased overall .
Great brussel sprouts, scallops, dessert!
I have adored this bar for years. Pre and post renovation.
The Oak Bar experience is a beautiful thing. Only improvements is having smaller bar stools to allow more to embrace the bar experience. Also the lower bar tables near the bar are not uniform and at times, I sit much taller than the people I am with. It is awkward arrangement. Bar and food menu continues to deliver the highest quality.
My last visit was simply horrible. Our table/ like many was near the bar which would have been fine except for the drunk group which was falling all over the place. I know the hostess was aware of this because she was chit chatting with them. When it got so unpleasant that I asked that our table be moved the same hostess spoke to them and made it cleared we had complained. Our table was not moved. After some time and paper bags (presumably filled with food) given to them they left. The meal was ruined by this time. Additionally, a food restriction which they were aware of was ignored. This was met with a lackluster response. Having eaten here before and enjoyed it and being a guest of the hotel it is disappointing that this will be our last dinner.
I have been coming to Oak Long bar for years and have always enjoyed the service, ambiance, food, and drinks. Recently, my friend and I came to celebrate Lunar New Year. The hostess seated us at the table, but then removed us from to make space for a middle age white couple. We stood around for an additional ten minutes. It was embarrassing.
Firstly, they have a very limited menu selection, it takes forever to get served. Finally, when the food does arrive two of the dishes; the chicken and the lamb meatballs are cold - not warm - cold! Combine this with low-light, very noisy background, cramped tables and high price and you see why we'll never return.
Great service but 32oz ribeye had too much fat. Everything else was top shelf.
We pick this place base on my co-worker's recommendation and reserved a table for valentine's day. Upon looking up the restaurant information, I found that they had a special menu for valentine's day. I was a bit excited until I arrive at the restaurant.
There were a good choice in the menu. One item in the special valentine menu caught our attention was the 32oz cowboy steak for two. But it's a hefty $120. My wife and I are a fan of all type of steak and we decide to order that. Prior to that I saw something on their regular menu and wanted order it and the waiter said they won't make anything else other than what was on their special menu for the day.
Waiter was kind but has a little attitude(?) when we didn't order any drinks. Is it mandatory to order drink in a restaurant? Appetizer were Ok and very salty.
When the steak came, it was over valued. I could have cooked a cheap choice steak that I bought from Stop and Shop better than the one I had. Did I remind you that was $120?
Overall I don't think I would be coming again.
We went here with a Gilt certificate for brunch and it was very good. Got the mushroom flatbread, vegetable omelette, croque madame and some cocktails. It's a little pricey for standard breakfast food, so probably wouldn't have gone without the Gilt certificate. Loved the ambiance and decor and our waiter was great though!
Food was very good. Expensive. Bar is to packed. People waiting behind seats for to be at the bar. Other bars seat the first group that's been waiting the longest. Hotel should offer reserved bar seating for hotel guests, so they can enjoy a drink prior to going to their dinner reservation.
It's hard to rate because members of my group felt differently about the food. Mine (grilled octopus) was delicious - others said only OK. I think the food my have been waiting a while (as were we) because our waitress (Lydia) was very busy, so it came out rather cool. Lydia was very accommodating and delightful. It was hard to converse because the music was so loud. Overall, the atmosphere is great and it's a convenient place to grab a bite before or after the Lyric Theater but not a place I would go for a quiet meal.
Setting and location are great. Service was attentive and responsive. We ate early afternoon Saturday and lingered to chat and there was no pressure to leave.
Would enjoy going back for drinks.
Love this place! It’s my favorite for breakfast! Service is top notch without being stuffy and the menu from breakfast to dinner is fantastic!!!
Bluefish toast. That’s all you need to know octopus, another good thing to know #sunchokes
Great space, wonderful service, excellent and well presented meal
Loved our server, and the Elyx martinis were divine.
