We sat at the bar for lunch. We got great advice on places to visit from the passionate bar staff - and the food and wine were very good.

This was my third time going to Oak. I thought the food was really good, but the service was lacking a little this time - slow response rates and little to no follow up. My boyfriend's wine glass was empty for at least half an hour before we could get her attention. Also, there was a little snafu in our Open Table reservation, but we ended up only waiting about 45 minutes (instead of the initial hour and a half quoted).

Had a reservation on a very busy Saturday evening. Our table was ready when we arrived. Food was great, ambiance a little dark and service was good although a bit impersonal. Overall would recommend!

Since I have been here three times in the past 10 days, I am obviously not an unbiased reviewer. I love this place; it's just a few blocks from my home. This time, I was here to have dinner with a dear friend. Since I know the menu so well, I ordered two of my favorites: the cauliflower with vadouvan and the lamb meatballs. They are both fabulous--spiced just right. Then, to try something new, I ordered the mushroom flatbread; it was delicious. We ate the whole thing! We each had a few glasses of rosé and called a night. A wonderful night!

We love it! My two daughters were here and we went out two nights; they chose this place for both dinners. Given we were there twice, we ate a lot of things, all of them good: the beef tartar, the octopus, lamb meatballs--delicious!--the cauliflower with vadouvan--fabulous. We had it both nights, two orders each time and we were licking the plates. Then someone had the chowda and another had the Caesar Salad, both tasty. One night we had the mussels too--excellent. The restaurant can be crowded and the bar when we were there was jammed backed, so it was as bit noisy, but at the same time, lively and fun. It's in my neighborhood so we go often, but it's worth a trip.

Food was good and ambiance was very nice. A bit noisy in the restaurant as the sound did carry far with the high ceiling, but I quite enjoyed it regardless and the food was very good. Loved the scallops, the flatbreads and the brussel sprouts. .The avocado and crab toast was just OK, needed some salt. The kid's enjoyed the burgers.

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, we could not see it because the room was so dark. It was also impossible to read the menu without a flashlight. The repetitive techno beat added to the noise level of a very echoey room. I'd rate food as A and atmosphere as C.

We arrived a little earlier in order to have a drink at the bar. It was grown and we were told not to come earlier in future. Our table was ready but we were not allowed to sit there the 20minutes we arrived earlier but the table was almost ready. We had to stand in the entry area and wait.
I couldn’t order my burger rare what I didn’t understand because that wasn’t my first visit and I never had a problem with the order before.
The waitress was kind aber very loud. Service and food was this time disappointed.

Long wait for someone to check in with us and take drink order. Place is loud and congested. People entering from hotel side don’t seem to know where to go when they enter. Food was ok. Overpriced for what it was. If the service was better it would have made up for where they fell short

The Oak Room replacement provides a much needed and brighter, hip atmosphere than it's predecessor. The variety of seating options, fire place, and overall decor is in line with the hotel's majestic traditional historic architecture. The food was very good, but service somewhat slow. We were not bothered by this, however, as we were really there to linger over an enjoyable brunch. The food was very good, but just seeing and experiencing the room is worth the trip.

Went here for a friends birthday. There was 6 of us total, including 1 vegetarian, and 2 vegans. The ambiance is absolutely incredible. Old world luxury meets modern world opulence. The server was great, very knowledgeable on the menu and how to make some of the items on the menu vegan or vegetarian. We let it up to the chef to get creative and do whatever he would like for some vegan options, and boy did he deliver! Unbelievable appetizers and main courses were brought to our table. The drinks are incredible too with the bar staff being incredibly friendly. All 6 of us left there very pleased. Go here if you want a great night out!

I had been here for drinks, was really looking forward to trying brunch. The burger was just okay. Not worth $22 and not on par with similar restaurants in the area (doesn’t even compare to the burger at Bristol in the four seasons). The flatbread was good and the mimosas were strong. Service was excellent.
I’d go back for drinks, probably not for a full meal.

A bit noisy and service was slow. Food was very good. It was crowded and people hovered around us, even taking a chair from our table... pretty rude actually. And before we could stand someone was grabbing one of our chairs to sit down. For Pete’s Sake! The Oak Long Bar is not a bar by Fenway Park!

Dining at OAK Long Bar + Kitchen was very nice, although, had some hiccups. The food was excellently prepared and presented, although could have had a bit more elaboration on creativity. The flavor more than made up however, as everything tasted excellent. Their tuna tartare was fresh and light, beef tartare rich and flavorful, and their bread and honey butter was comforting for a late night snack. Their service is lacking, as I had 4 different people attending me, and at the end of the night I did not even know who my waiter or waitress was. The food was expensive, although I knew that walking into the establishment. However, $8.00 for a latte is unacceptable when I can go to Starbucks and order something twice the size for half the price at the same quality. Overall a good experience, would recommend, and would experience again with a larger group!

This is a breathtaking space with old world ambiance. Friendly no -stuffy service with pricey but well made cocktails. Avocado and crab toast and Brussels weee quite tasty small plates. Scallop entree very solid but I thought the healthy swordfish portion was a bit dry. Lobster roll quite solid and nicely toasted but the fries were fine but nothing special.

I have adored this bar for years. Pre and post renovation.
The Oak Bar experience is a beautiful thing. Only improvements is having smaller bar stools to allow more to embrace the bar experience. Also the lower bar tables near the bar are not uniform and at times, I sit much taller than the people I am with. It is awkward arrangement. Bar and food menu continues to deliver the highest quality.

My last visit was simply horrible. Our table/ like many was near the bar which would have been fine except for the drunk group which was falling all over the place. I know the hostess was aware of this because she was chit chatting with them. When it got so unpleasant that I asked that our table be moved the same hostess spoke to them and made it cleared we had complained. Our table was not moved. After some time and paper bags (presumably filled with food) given to them they left. The meal was ruined by this time. Additionally, a food restriction which they were aware of was ignored. This was met with a lackluster response. Having eaten here before and enjoyed it and being a guest of the hotel it is disappointing that this will be our last dinner.

I have been coming to Oak Long bar for years and have always enjoyed the service, ambiance, food, and drinks. Recently, my friend and I came to celebrate Lunar New Year. The hostess seated us at the table, but then removed us from to make space for a middle age white couple. We stood around for an additional ten minutes. It was embarrassing.

Firstly, they have a very limited menu selection, it takes forever to get served. Finally, when the food does arrive two of the dishes; the chicken and the lamb meatballs are cold - not warm - cold! Combine this with low-light, very noisy background, cramped tables and high price and you see why we'll never return.
