We have two semi-private dining areas: One is perfectly situated in the action of the dining room for a sit down dinner or glamorous cocktail party. The second is set off the main bar area and can accommodate a cocktail party for up to 25.View Private Dining Details
The service, atmosphere and food at Oak was amazing!!! We had a Gilt city voucher and it was such an incredible deal I almost couldn't believe all we got and quality for the price!
Went here for a friends birthday. There was 6 of us total, including 1 vegetarian, and 2 vegans. The ambiance is absolutely incredible. Old world luxury meets modern world opulence. The server was great, very knowledgeable on the menu and how to make some of the items on the menu vegan or vegetarian. We let it up to the chef to get creative and do whatever he would like for some vegan options, and boy did he deliver! Unbelievable appetizers and main courses were brought to our table. The drinks are incredible too with the bar staff being incredibly friendly. All 6 of us left there very pleased. Go here if you want a great night out!
Great Ambiance!! Food was excellent as was the service. One of the Best pieces of steak I've ever had.
Fantastic venue, relaxed atmosphere and brilliant service
I had been here for drinks, was really looking forward to trying brunch. The burger was just okay. Not worth $22 and not on par with similar restaurants in the area (doesn’t even compare to the burger at Bristol in the four seasons). The flatbread was good and the mimosas were strong. Service was excellent.
I’d go back for drinks, probably not for a full meal.
Went for brunch and got a cozy seat by the fireplace. Great service, awesome cocktails. Can't wait to return!
It was ok. The restaurant is beautiful. The service was not that great.
Absolutely love our server he was a peach. Wonderful French toast and crab avo toast
Bit over rated ate in an Italian in Boston which was far superior, had bar bite Sunday fries cam pizza was late think they forgot
From our hostess Cheryl to our server Lydia, they made the experience here even better. Great service, amazing food and cocktails. Great wine selection by the glass as well. Fun place to people watch at the amazing loooong bar!
My colleagues and I ate here for both days of our conference. Food very good- excellent service- waiter brought us a selection of desserts for one of my colleagues birthday! Very nice and unexpected.
The maitre'd was warm, welcoming and fun! The food was delicious and we weren't rushed - able to have a long relaxing breakfast!
A bit noisy and service was slow. Food was very good. It was crowded and people hovered around us, even taking a chair from our table... pretty rude actually. And before we could stand someone was grabbing one of our chairs to sit down. For Pete’s Sake! The Oak Long Bar is not a bar by Fenway Park!
The room is beautiful with very comfortable seating.
Although the food was great it was Jonathan's service that made a great brunch experience!
Dining at OAK Long Bar + Kitchen was very nice, although, had some hiccups. The food was excellently prepared and presented, although could have had a bit more elaboration on creativity. The flavor more than made up however, as everything tasted excellent. Their tuna tartare was fresh and light, beef tartare rich and flavorful, and their bread and honey butter was comforting for a late night snack. Their service is lacking, as I had 4 different people attending me, and at the end of the night I did not even know who my waiter or waitress was. The food was expensive, although I knew that walking into the establishment. However, $8.00 for a latte is unacceptable when I can go to Starbucks and order something twice the size for half the price at the same quality. Overall a good experience, would recommend, and would experience again with a larger group!
Drinks are pretty pricey but overall great. Food was very good and service was pretty good.
Lovely ambience great cocktails, pricey like most of Boston upscale dining
Fun night with wife and young kids. They ordered off Kids menu and were pleased. I had the mushroom gnocci while wife had the bacon cheeseburger. Had a great glass of wine and a cocktail too. Enjoyed it completely.
This is a breathtaking space with old world ambiance. Friendly no -stuffy service with pricey but well made cocktails. Avocado and crab toast and Brussels weee quite tasty small plates. Scallop entree very solid but I thought the healthy swordfish portion was a bit dry. Lobster roll quite solid and nicely toasted but the fries were fine but nothing special.
We waited too long for our waitress so the manager noticed and came over an apologized. We were pleased overall .
Great brussel sprouts, scallops, dessert!
I have adored this bar for years. Pre and post renovation.
The Oak Bar experience is a beautiful thing. Only improvements is having smaller bar stools to allow more to embrace the bar experience. Also the lower bar tables near the bar are not uniform and at times, I sit much taller than the people I am with. It is awkward arrangement. Bar and food menu continues to deliver the highest quality.
My last visit was simply horrible. Our table/ like many was near the bar which would have been fine except for the drunk group which was falling all over the place. I know the hostess was aware of this because she was chit chatting with them. When it got so unpleasant that I asked that our table be moved the same hostess spoke to them and made it cleared we had complained. Our table was not moved. After some time and paper bags (presumably filled with food) given to them they left. The meal was ruined by this time. Additionally, a food restriction which they were aware of was ignored. This was met with a lackluster response. Having eaten here before and enjoyed it and being a guest of the hotel it is disappointing that this will be our last dinner.
I have been coming to Oak Long bar for years and have always enjoyed the service, ambiance, food, and drinks. Recently, my friend and I came to celebrate Lunar New Year. The hostess seated us at the table, but then removed us from to make space for a middle age white couple. We stood around for an additional ten minutes. It was embarrassing.
Firstly, they have a very limited menu selection, it takes forever to get served. Finally, when the food does arrive two of the dishes; the chicken and the lamb meatballs are cold - not warm - cold! Combine this with low-light, very noisy background, cramped tables and high price and you see why we'll never return.
Service was very slow.
Waiter was more interested in his larger parties rather than a party of two.
Great service but 32oz ribeye had too much fat. Everything else was top shelf.
We pick this place base on my co-worker's recommendation and reserved a table for valentine's day. Upon looking up the restaurant information, I found that they had a special menu for valentine's day. I was a bit excited until I arrive at the restaurant.
There were a good choice in the menu. One item in the special valentine menu caught our attention was the 32oz cowboy steak for two. But it's a hefty $120. My wife and I are a fan of all type of steak and we decide to order that. Prior to that I saw something on their regular menu and wanted order it and the waiter said they won't make anything else other than what was on their special menu for the day.
Waiter was kind but has a little attitude(?) when we didn't order any drinks. Is it mandatory to order drink in a restaurant? Appetizer were Ok and very salty.
When the steak came, it was over valued. I could have cooked a cheap choice steak that I bought from Stop and Shop better than the one I had. Did I remind you that was $120?
Overall I don't think I would be coming again.
We went here with a Gilt certificate for brunch and it was very good. Got the mushroom flatbread, vegetable omelette, croque madame and some cocktails. It's a little pricey for standard breakfast food, so probably wouldn't have gone without the Gilt certificate. Loved the ambiance and decor and our waiter was great though!
Food was very good. Expensive. Bar is to packed. People waiting behind seats for to be at the bar. Other bars seat the first group that's been waiting the longest. Hotel should offer reserved bar seating for hotel guests, so they can enjoy a drink prior to going to their dinner reservation.
It's hard to rate because members of my group felt differently about the food. Mine (grilled octopus) was delicious - others said only OK. I think the food my have been waiting a while (as were we) because our waitress (Lydia) was very busy, so it came out rather cool. Lydia was very accommodating and delightful. It was hard to converse because the music was so loud. Overall, the atmosphere is great and it's a convenient place to grab a bite before or after the Lyric Theater but not a place I would go for a quiet meal.
Setting and location are great. Service was attentive and responsive. We ate early afternoon Saturday and lingered to chat and there was no pressure to leave.
Would enjoy going back for drinks.
Love this place! It’s my favorite for breakfast! Service is top notch without being stuffy and the menu from breakfast to dinner is fantastic!!!
Bluefish toast. That’s all you need to know octopus, another good thing to know #sunchokes
Great space, wonderful service, excellent and well presented meal
Loved our server, and the Elyx martinis were divine.
This was my first time in Boston and I was staying in the hotel where this restaurant is located. Although somewhat pricy, the food and wine were very good. The George’s Bay scallops were beautifully prepared-perfectly seared but creamy and sweet. Definitely worth heading here if you are in the neighborhood
This is more like a bar than a restaurant in terms of ambiance and seating. But the food (we ordered 4 small plates) was outstanding, and the wine by the glass selection was very good. I would definitely return if I did not want a "formal" dinner, but rather drinks/app's with friends.
