Very disappointed .. the place had an odor, looked dirty, didn't stay..expected more of this place
Wonderful service and delicious food. The best part was the warm, gracious and thoughtful welcome we received when checking in with the hostess/mgr at the front desk. I believe her name is Cheryl? She is exceptionally gracious and made the dining experience very enjoyable.
GREAT WAITER, nice lunch and so wonderful to dine outside!
The food was quite good. Service was on the lower end of what I'd expect, pretty much just asked what we want and brought what we ordered--no welcome, no reference to the menu, etc. The server did check on us once between dropping off the food and the check, but empty drink glasses were ignored. Very cool space, but it was frigidly cold--bring a sweater if it's warm outside.
The Oak Bar never fails to deliver! So great to be able to share a drink with friends!
The room is beautiful and the energy is great. We loved it! I had the rib eye and my husband had the halibut. My rib eye was delicious but I admit that I’ve had better at other steakhouses. Needed a little more salt and pepper to really bring out the flavor. My husband loved his halibut. But I’m being a bit picky about the food. If you love a beautiful bar/room, a lively atmosphere, and good food….this is one place that is a “must”on your visit.
Amazing lobster roll
My first time visiting- The Prosciutto & Mission Fig Pizza was very well done. Perfect combination and they give you a nice portion of toppings. It’s personal size, approximately 10 inches but I never felt like I needed more food. Their cocktails are superb! Ordering a Mint Julep and Irish Coffee. Expect what you pay for, however overall I was very impressed. My server even brought out an extra pot of coffee with an additional cup. The atmosphere and quality fit perfectly together. A classic vintage feel. Oversized leather furniture. My server Lydia was probably one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Attentive, extremely cordial, not pushy or up-selling at all, very informative of menu items and the area. The gentleman manager I came in contact with was very courteous as well. Asked me if I had a preference on dining area instead of “assigning” me a table, which came off as very hospitable. I’ve been in food and beverage with Hilton for four years and I hope we can learn from Fairmont! The only downside may have been the music- they played today’s popular hits that didn’t seem to fit, but it may have just been me. Overall, they do everything extremely well at this restaurant!
Burger bun was completely soaked in grease, lobster roll was fishy and not high-quality. Wine pour was embarrassingly small and a quarter of my martini ended up on the waiter's tray. Poor experience for $120
My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont and had breakfast in this charming restaurant. The food was amazing and the waitstaff was wonderful!
Used to be a favorite but music way too loud and ruined ambiance
Food was ok. Service wasn’t great. Server took our order and never came back. Someone else delivered the food. My burger was ordered medium and definitely came back rare. Then spent 45 minutes trying to get our check. Building was very cool…go for a drink at the bar.
Best place to eat in Boston, great ambiance, the service was outstanding
Fun place to meet friends. Service was excellent. Food was delicious.
Nice brunch selection.
As always, great food and fabulous service. Whenever we stay in Boston we come to this restaurant because we always have an A+ experience. They are also very attentive to food allergies. We will be back!
The dining area is one of the best rooms in Boston. The food is great. Lobster pizza was especially good.
Today I opted for a longtime favorite which was unfortunately only half the previous version. This burger was dense and excellent, prepared exactly as ordered. After closing for almost a year everything should be shining but the windows needed serious attention. That does not leave a favorable impression when extrapolated for the restaurant as a whole. The staff seemed grateful to be back. Overall needs polish.
A nice ambiance, good wine and food variety and quality, solid service, but payment is a hassle and doesn't work and now I have to deal with AmEx to "fix" the billing and credits they didn't do when I realized the automated weird thing they have wasn't working and said I'd paid cash. She promised they reversed the charges but it's on my Amex account. Ugh, the reason I go out is to have things easy, not to have to later spend a bunch of time dealing with billing errors and hassles.
Food was great, overall experience here was very exceptional. Not too salty, but still savory.
My husband had a salad with chicken and it was less than exciting, equal to a fast food restaurant in quality. I had the Smokey Bird chicken thigh sandwich without the bun and they left off the saffron mayo without asking so it was very dry. Second time we have been disappointed with food in a month. Don’t know if it’s the new chef or trying to come back after covid, but the food is not what it used to be. Recommended the restaurant to my daughter yesterday and she said her burger was way over cooked so much so that it had a cancer crust! Things like this should not occur in an upscale restaurant!
Food was mediocre, service was slow. Would not recommend it as far nicer alternatives close by
When i use to go into the Fairmont Coply it use to be a special occasion and had a feel of old time Boston. Today it’s not close to being that. Food was good but if your looking to dine for dinner menu needs to be updated to a dinner menu and not fun food. Place to eat is at the bar if seats are available. Dress down and keep the suit jacket home.
Absolutely beautiful space, great (long!) bar, and a perfect place to reemerge into the post-Covid world!
Went for breakfast. Took forever for the waiter to come to our table to even order coffee and tea. When he did show up, could hardly hear him speak, and it wasn’t loud in the restaurant. Wrong dish was first brought over, and it wasn’t even busy. Pricing was super high for not impressive quality.
Wonderful time at this place. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! HIGHLY recommended
I always enjoy the oak room
I was really disappointed by the food and service. My husband and I got married yesterday (5/21/2021) and we went to enjoy a lovely pre wedding dinner. My food (eggplant) was not flavorful and my husbands steak was burned. He sent it back and it took almost 40 min to get a new steak. I felt badly for the waitress because it wasn’t her fault. We were hoping that we would get a free drink or something since I did mention that it was our wedding weekend but nothing was given. I was very disappointed and will probably not go back. However, the cocktails were amazing.
We were very disappointed in the food and service at OAK Long Bar and Kitchen. We stayed at the Fairmount and had dinner there our first night in Boston. We had the clam chowder which tasted like something out of a can, thick and not very flavorful or fresh. We ordered the eggplant. It was a meal but more the size of an appetizer. It wasn't very good, it was dry and also did not have much flavor. The service was extremely slow and no one came by to ask us how our meal was.
Came here for breakfast with a client. My fourth time eating in this room. The room, itself, is beautiful, even with Covid protective barriers in place between tables. We were warmly greeted. Our server was just attentive enough. The food came out in a reasonable period of time, nicely plated and tasty. I'd definitely go back for breakfast (or other meals) again.
The food was great but the service was absolutely terrible. Our server was SO rude it really took away from the whole experience. It was a shame since the food was very good.
It’s a beautiful room! Great staff and good food. Had a wonderful time :-)
Enjoyed the food, staff, and ambiance of Oak Long Bar.
Great old.schoolfeel, but fresh. Nice space and interesting food and drink.
Very nice atmosphere with an excellent service and good and interesting menu.
Not what it used to be!
I have been a patron of Long Bar for 20+ years and last Friday's experience had me question when I would next return. Specifically, a tall surly man (mate de?) approached the table and abruptly told us we had 10 minutes to finish our food/drinks. This was the first we were informed of this, and we had just put in a drink order with our waitstaff. This guy - whoever he was - has no couth, understanding of the clientele or anything about customer service/experience in hospitality. The hostess and waitstaff were great, but this guy really altered the tone of the experience. He should perhaps consider a staff position at Applebee's - at best.
The room is really nice. The bartenders, Herbert and Louis took great care of our party of two. I did not get the name of the hostess who greeted and sat us but she was very friendly, accommodating and efficient.
A charming, warm ambience in a retro setting. The food, staff and service could not be better. You will feel like you are immersed in a pleasurable, totally satisfying dream—- and the best part— it’s real.
