Gets very loud when the restaurant is full. Food is well done, very relaxed vibe.
My friend is Muslim. She asked for a burger without beacon and the server didn't listen to her! She had beacon on her burger.
We were obliged to wait for the server a lot!
Corned beef hash with eggs was well prepared and delicious. Lots of corned beef.
Excellent food and nice staff but expected more based on the price and reputation.
Great atmosphere, perfect place for an Aussie & a Brit to catch up over drinks & good food. Would be nice to see some high-end Australian whiskeys/gins there - Sutherland Cove & Starwood (whiskeys), Four Pillars & Archie Rose (gins)
Small but diverse menu. Great apps, small plates, a few entrees. Our table gave scallops, burger, beet salad very high marks. The Old-Fashioned cocktail was excellent. Very good wines by the glass. High end and hip atmosphere.
Met with family for drinks and dinner. Wonderful cocktails... and decent food. The cauliflower was incredible, and the mushroom flatbread was tasty. Thanks for an enjoyable evening!
Loved the ambiance, the service was great, food was delicious. Will be back!
Staff is great from host to waiter , consistently awesome!
Wonderful server. The Oak Bat is just a beautiful spot .
Was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the drinks were good. Highly recommend
This place is all about the ambiance. The food is mediocre and the service was terrible.
OAK Long Bar did not honor reservation made for outside seating, food was overpriced for what we had and staff (other than served) was generally not friendly. Crowded seating near bar. Only reason I see going is for drinks. Will not do dinner there again.
Wonderful dinner for our family celebrating a college graduation. It was a very busy weekend of celebrations in Boston so the restaurant was completely full and very busy yet our waitress and all the the staff were attentive and calm (and so knowledgeable!). We all got filets and salmon and all were delicious and cooked perfectly. Grill 23 is the perfect place to celebrate and splurge!
Music too loud, a/c too high, food lukewarm, good drinks, excellent waitress.
We were there to celebrate Mother's Day -the food was great, the service was attentive and we were thrilled with the experience.
We had an outstanding time at dinner on Saturday night. The food was outstanding, and we were a tad hesitant about eating a meal there. However...everything from the warm pretzels to the beet salad to the delicious salmon was prepared perfectly. The four of us had a spectacular time. Thank you...thank you.
Room is very noisy, the food while very good is overpriced, does not seem like a very good value
Great food/drinks. The table was cramped and by the door so that made things difficult to enjoy the experience
I think the Long Bar needs to clean their wing back chair covers. As we sat at our table, I noticed many had food stains on them. That is a big turn off. Otherwise the place is great
The service was exceptional, but breakfast was a bit bland, especially the eggs. I would have expected higher quality based on the location and price.
Food is excellent and atmosphere is great.
I met a friend for breakfast and we were given a great table. The service and food were fantastic. I recommend the "Red Quinoa" which is eggs with healthy grains and kale. The beef hash was declared to be excellent by my guest. We love this place.
Understated elegant atmosphere.
Anyways a pleasure to come! The food is great and the staff is really dedicated. My friend and I had a wonderful breakfast
Absolutely amazing food ! Squash soup was exceptional. Beautiful space with wonderful details expertly restored. Just a bit noisy though but will definitely be back!
Very spicy chicken and vegetables, drowning in brown sauce not described in the menu
Wonderful vinegar fries!
Requested mustard with them, which never arrived. Server seemed attentive in other areas: we requested a 2014 Pinot noir, and a 2013 arrived. When we commented it was different from that listed, he produced a 2014 bottle of same vineyard.
Dark woods and high ceilings make the place Loud
I would bring the music down a level. We had some difficulty hearing each other.
This is a lovely place for a special meal. The food is excellent and the service attentive. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but they make it worth your while.
The restaurant itself is beautiful. We had breakfast and the menu was very limited. My daughter had chicken and waffles which she said was very good. My waffles were cold and the sausage I ordered came 10 minutes later. They were not hot either. When we received the bill, I was stunned to see that a cup of plain coffee was 7 dollars! And we had to grab creamer from another table. So all together close to $65.00 for cold breakfast waffles and coffee.
Oak Long Bar is a reliable "go-to" place for a business lunch for 2 - 4 people. The menu is small but interesting, the food is served quickly without fuss. Always delicious and satisfying. The waitstaff is professional but not fussy, and you can linger without getting rushed along. Very relaxed.
I just added this to my list of "must stop by" places when I am in Boston. Staff in incredible! Ambiance is energetic and classy. Cocktails are well done!
Best dining in Boston
We waited 30+ min for a waiter to acknowledge us with having a reservation for 8 people. Then waited 45 minutes for drinks. We had empty drinks and I had to get up and find someone to get a second round. Our waiter never checked on us. When they brought everyone’s food but left out two people for 10-15 minutes I finally complained to a manager. This was the worst service I’ve ever had at any restaurant. With $400 bill you’d think they would have taken care of us but they didn’t. I have never complained before and I can honestly tell you even with great food/atmosphere I will NEVER go back nor will I recommend it.
My friend and I came to OAK to celebrate and we had an awesome experience. We walked in and the restaurant was beautiful [high ceilings, comfortable seating] and had the best experience with our server, Javier, and the hostess Lucille. We will definitely be back.
Love the grand atmosphere here, and every dish was exceptionally delicious. The bar area was terribly loud though, and I was glad that our table was all the way in the front near the window, so that we were able to have a conversation without yelling.
Great, but a noisy place. Good food would certainly go again.
I've been a fan of the OAK Long Bar for a long time, well before it's remodel. But all my experience there has been around cocktail hour, which is one of the nicest and most elegant cocktail spots in the city. My recent lunch experience was very disappointing. The service was terrible, and it tainted everything else.
