Oak is a regular stop for me. Clients like the ambience and the food. Because these are client occasions, I appreciate the service.
We went to Oak for a belated Valentines’s dinner. The lighting over the tables is dim - would not be a problem except the menu type was printed in a light gray font making it almost impossible to read. We used our phones to provide extra lighting.
We started our dinner by sharing the Honeygem salad;
Neither of us liked the flavor of the dressing and we did not finish it.
I wanted to order the Tagliatelle but was informed they were out of the pasta dish. It was only 8:15 on a Saturday evening and they were out of several appetizers and menu items. I ended up ordering the chicken breast. It came with an aji amarillo sauce which saved the dish. The sauce was excellent. The grilled romaine and four fingerling potatoes did not enhance the dish.
My husband ordered the prime ribeye cap. It was beautifully cooked but an extremely small portion for the $38 price tag.
We were very underwhelmed by our food and disappointed with the entire experience.
Great special course for Valentine’s Day. Cool location and good drinks
I went there with my girlfriend and our waitress was very rude and treated us as if we were uncoth and didnt belong. She was very disrepect when we just wanted to have a good night for Valentines day. She was very unhelpful and the waitstaff sat us in the corner in the back when there were plenty of great tables in front of us. I asked about one of the booths that I saw open and the hostess said it was for an earlier reservation. To my understanding if a reservation doesnt show up on time you do not make the people whi showed up on time to thier reservation wait. I was appalled by the staff and the way I was treated and wouldnt recommend anyone to visit hear.
Valentine's Day menu and wine pairings were excellent. Wonderful, friendly service as always. Made our V-Day and 40-year celebration special!
This was our first time to visit Oak, and we happened to be celebrating the anniversary of our first date 9 years ago. Everyone at Oak made the evening very special, even giving us an anniversary card! The food was outstanding (risotto was out of this world) and the service was great. Very nice ambiance! We will be back!
We had a great experience there. They have a diverse menu that's creative without being annoying and cryptic like lots of trendy restaurants. Hickory Smoked Vanilla Bean Ice cream on the brownie was super creative and sounded weird but was amazing.
We went there before a 7:30 concert and really enjoyed the place. Service was outstanding and the food was excellent. Perfect date night.
Wonderful all around. Oscar rules.
Oak is one of my wife's and my favorite restaurants in Dallas. We have frequently taken friends and family there. The food is excellent. The service is good and the ambience is perfect. Their wait staff is friendly and efficient. They always cooperates in getting us out on time if we have tickets for the theater or symphony after dinner.
Oak was terrific! We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. I don’t think you can get better service anywhere else, our server (Bruce) was on top of it and always with a smile on his face. Our food came quickly and was prepared perfectly. I had the Wild Salmon, it was very good, with a combination of grapefruit, lentils and a beet leaf! It sounds like a strange mix, but all the ingredients made it work impeccably. Great experience, we’ll be back soon.
Noel, our server, was so attentive. We never had to ask for anything- it's like he read our minds! Food (as always) was incredible. Great experience- will find a way to come again!
Good food. Great service. Very consistent
The best word to describe the experience is "incongruous." It's a beautiful space, but why is the music turned up loud and the lights up too bright? The tartare was good, but maybe the menu should have mentioned the beets they put in there that didn't quite work. I said out loud, "why does a place like this even have Louis XVIII on the menu?" Things just didn't match up. It's almost a great restaurant, but almost doesn't cut it when there are so many good options.
We had family in town and wanted to do something special.
Oak is one of the most attractive restaurants in Dallas. The wine list is exceptional and
waiter gave us good suggestions. The food was terrific. Really really good.
It is one of our best, "go to" places.
