VERY disappointing. Very amateur at best. Out of items early on a Saturday night. Totally blew their caviar service. Sad, the food we had was good, but the whole experience was under whelming.

I absolutely love the decor and the service. I was disappointed with my food because it came out cold.

Oak never misses a detail. They nail consistency which is extremely difficult to do in the restaurant business.

Food was undercooked, manager tried to rush us out quickly. It was almost like he didn’t want us there. We barely ate the food. Food was over priced

We expected better service for the price tag of the restaurant. Way too cold in there and the fans never stopped. Food was great but service didn’t match.

Very loud club like music. Food quality not the same as it used to be prior to changing the menu and entire staff. Definitely not the same value.

We've been to Oak many times since finding it more than a year ago. Sadly, the quality of our experience seems to dwindle with each visit and a series of staff changes. On the most recent visit, the food and wine list was very good, but the staff was irritating. The main bartender was very slow to recognize we were sitting there and later reprimanded a bar assistant right in front of customers. I asked for the large doors open to the deck to be closed as it was 55 degrees out at 9:30pm and nobody was sitting there - the stone bar top was ice cold, as were we. The bartender said he couldn't but would ask the manager. Later, I asked again and he basically grumbled that he couldn't find the manager or something like that - the doors remained open. On a positive note, in addition to the good food, one of the other bartenders (seemed like #2 bartender) saved the day by stepping in and giving us very good service/attention. Staff vibes make a difference, especially in close quarters when eating at the bar...

Service was great. Drinks were great. Dessert was great. Main course was very bland, not very tasteful. Price for 2 was $150. Wouldn't spend more than $50 to eat there again.

Food was ok, except for the oysters as they seemed past their prime. Price was very high. Service was sub-par, for example we had to go find our own napkins. I feel like if we dined inside instead of the patio, our experience would have been better. However, if I’m going to drop $250 for dinner for two, I’m expecting better.

We haven't been in a while and the crowd had changed. The food was really good, the service was unfortunately slow and it was loud. There was a large table that seem to be very loud and it was difficult to talk at our table. It ended up being an expensive dinner and it didn't match the overall experience.

I redeemed Open Table rewards and thought the choices of where to go and use them would be limited. Boy was I wrong! And Wow! Oak is the place. We have never been to Oak nor been to the design district at night. What an exceptional evening. Menu selection was so good. Charcuterie Board was the best ever. Assortment and portion was top notch. Table side prepared Caesar was fun to watch and tasted great. Heavy on the garlic. Wife and I shared the 20oz bone-in NY and it really could not have been prepared nor presented better. Finished off with banana foster bread pudding, super yummy.
Cocktail and wine selection was extensive enough but not overboard. Cucumber Mint martinis highly recommended. But we all know all that would be wasted by poor service. Our waiter was hip, he was professional and just attentive when needed. Can’t remember his name but next time I hear a guy singing at the gym with headphones on, I’ll remind him of the excellent evening we had.

We never got our food. After two hours of waiting, we were given excuse after excuse on why the food never came and why the drinks were so slow. All of the other tables were being served food except ours. The waiter told us it took 15 minutes PER SUSHI ROLL and that was the hold up. He actually refused to fill one of our group members waters because he told her she was being rude for asking why our food wasn’t coming. They comped our meal, but we didn’t get to eat anyways so that was the least they could do. We asked the waiter to run a penny so we could at least tip him, but he was angry with us for whatever reason and he asked us to “just leave”. Will not go back.

We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The steaks are reasonably priced and everything tasted wonderful. The prices on the drinks are a bit excessive and I feel like the sides should be bigger (the brussels sprouts wasn't that big of a dish to begin with and then they put so many {albeit yummy} things in with them, I felt like I had five brussels sprouts in the end. Overall though, it was a very enjoyable evening and we will be back.

Our experience at Oak was phenomenal! It was our 10 year anniversary and Oak is most definitely a place worth going for such a special occasion. We were well taken care of by Gabriel who is an angel! The food was amazing as was the whole ambiance of the restaurant! We will absolutely be going back Oak!!!

We sat down at 8pm and ordered our apps shortly thereafter (large iced prawns and oysters.) We did not get the apps until 9:15! These are raw dishes and there was zero explanation re why it took so long. The customer service could have made up for the unreasonable delay, but the server simply provided an aloof “sorry no idea why it took so long.” The shrimp cocktail was served room temperature which is pretty gross. We ordered the swordfish and halibut for main dishes which were good but not out of this world for the price or to make up for the app and service debacle. Wont return. Wont recommend.

Love the atmosphere. The food was all really good. However, it seemed like the kitchen was having som issues. The food took a while, and some of it came out a bit wrong. Not all of the ingredients or the wrong sushi roll. Not a big deal cause all of it tasted good, but the waiter kind of argued with us when we said it wasn’t what we ordered which was awkward. Overall still a good restaurant they’re just having some issues maybe

The food and drinks were very good and the location and ambiance were great. The only reason my review is so poor is because our food never arrived. I made this reservation early last week (Tuesday or Wednesday) for 8 people. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm for our 7:45 reservation. All 8 of us ordered all of our food around 8pm. It took one hour for our 3 appetizers to arrive. By 9:45, our main courses still had not arrived and our server told us t

This restaurant has gone to crap! I’ve been going to the restaurant since it opened. I was there about two months ago and all four of us had a bad experience. The restaurant asked us to come back and give them a second chance so we did and what a mistake that was. There was five of us this time and our experience was even worse than the previous experience. Not one of us liked our food. How do you burn everyone’s food? Several of us sent our food back and they burned it again. The manager was full of excuses - they can’t find good help, etc... Too many great restaurants in this city to waste my time with this one.

Our venture out of quarantine for my birthday was well worth it. We began with martini glasses raised. The steak tartare was perfectly presented, classic taste. The Hawaiian roll and the Oak Surf and Turf rolls were feasts for the tastebuds. Another martini was followed by three highly recommended entrees: the filet perfectly cooked “black and blue”; the scallops melted in your mouth; and the Gorgonzola and spinach encrusted swordfish was a taste delight! Our waiter was right on the spot without hovering. They brought me a colorful birthday dessert and the evening was a complete success. The Oak is a perfect place for your birthday celebration!

This was our second trip to Oak. We thought the food and service was amazing the first trip so we took friends the second time around. Not only was so much of the menu inaccurate the waitress didn't bother to let us know. We ordered a pear and arugula salad and ended up with spinach and apple, my potatoes were cold (& I told them and they didn't even bring me another side of potatoes). The music was too loud, overall not a good experience. Won't be returning.

Great go-to dining option - good food, service and setting. My only complaint is the wine list. It’s very limited by glass and bottle. No good option for European whites or reds, which is all I prefer. To eat totally healthy/clean you have to modify menu selections but they have always accommodated.

Cool restaurant but service was horrible. The kid waiting on us was not the least bit attentive, never once throughout the night asked if we wanted another drink as we sat with empty wine glasses. Never asked how our food was or if our steaks were cooked OK, and when we were finished we sat at an empty table for 15 minutes before he finally asked if we wanted dessert (we did). After dessert we sat for another 15 minutes before we had to finally ask for our check.
The only saving grace was a manager that was there helping out that evening from a sister restaurant called the Hawthorne (apparently their restaurant was closed due to a water leak) actually came by our table and noticed our empty wine glasses and teased us about it and when we commented that our waiter never came to refill them he actually did bring us over some complimentary champagne with our dessert and was very apologetic, so I think the next time we’re in Dallas we’re going to go visit his restaurant and see if the service is better there.

OAK could have made this an excellent dinner however the service was NOT on point. Once we were seated we waited 10 minutes for water and to be greeted by our waiter. We were in the middle of our starter course and had just ordered a bottle of wine for our entrees. During the starter course, they brought our entrees and it was extremely awkward. They were essentially trying to clear the starter dishes we were still eating from. It completely ruined the mood. Our high end steaks had to be eaten right away to be warm at all. The steaks were not cooked as ordered. We ordered rare plus and they arrived blue. Steaks arrived before the bottle of wine to go with the dinner. The entire time it seemed like they were trying to rush us along which we were there less than 90 minutes with over a $300 meal. The quality and experience did not align with the expectations or cost. It does not want to make us go back or recommend to others.

Service was confused and possibly over-extended. I believe two servers were working the room. Neither knew who had what tables, food was brought to wrong tables. Kitchen took over an hour to prepare our meal. Fish was a bit over-cooked but the flavors were great.
Bartender was overwhelmed. Without asking for status on anything, waiter came around multiple times to provide excuses for the slow kitchen and bar.
Dining room was extremely noisy and most patrons were genuinely loud and obnoxious.
Neither the food, service, nor ambiance justify the price.
