Great service and ambience. Creative food presentation.
Delicious meal. The servers didn't rush us and gave us plenty of time to talk. It wasn't noisy, so we could hear each other without screaming over a crowd. I'll be a repeat visitor.
Marvelous experience! The design was sleek, elegant, and comfortable. The food was a delight and our service (Colleen I think) was perfect. Oak is a Dallas institution and never disappoints.
I flew in to Dallas to surprise my mom for her birthday. The reservation staff was incredibly accommodating, since the party numbers ended up changing after I made the reservation on Open Table. We had two small children in the group and the staff was unphased. The good was good, and I chose Oak because it had several fish options, all of which sounded great. I thought overall everything was nice, but it didn't quite rise to the level of outstanding, or I would have rated it higher. That said, I would still eat there again. The setting is beautiful and we had a lovely time.
Excellent food, great wine pairings and cocktails
Food was great, wine was amazing, and Oscar took such great care of us!
One of my favorite restaurants in Dallas, marvelous food and service to match
It was perfect for a lunch of conversation. The waiter left us alone when he accurately sensed we were mid-conversation, and was right there when we needed him. Lovely atmosphere and that private room we saw as we were leaving looks fantastic!
Gorgeous ambiance; terrific food and even better service.
Our experience at Oak was wonderful! We were celebrating a friend's birthday, and they went way above and beyond the call of duty to make her feel special. On top of that, the food was really great – some highlights were the Honeygem salad, the short ribs, the Brussels sprouts w/a hibiscus caramel and an amazing smoked vanilla ice cream that came with the brownie. They also have a fantastic bar with a knowledgable bartender. I highly recommend the Walnut Espresso Old Fashioned...the espresso infused bourbon is out of this world. The atmosphere is upscale, but comfortable, and the acoustics are such that its not awkwardly quiet, but you can hear everyone at your table easily – its perfect. All of the staff we interacted with, from the super helpful hostess, to our bartender and waiter, were a delight. This has definitely made our "go-to" list.
Oak is a regular stop for me. Clients like the ambience and the food. Because these are client occasions, I appreciate the service.
We went to Oak for a belated Valentines’s dinner. The lighting over the tables is dim - would not be a problem except the menu type was printed in a light gray font making it almost impossible to read. We used our phones to provide extra lighting.
We started our dinner by sharing the Honeygem salad;
Neither of us liked the flavor of the dressing and we did not finish it.
I wanted to order the Tagliatelle but was informed they were out of the pasta dish. It was only 8:15 on a Saturday evening and they were out of several appetizers and menu items. I ended up ordering the chicken breast. It came with an aji amarillo sauce which saved the dish. The sauce was excellent. The grilled romaine and four fingerling potatoes did not enhance the dish.
My husband ordered the prime ribeye cap. It was beautifully cooked but an extremely small portion for the $38 price tag.
We were very underwhelmed by our food and disappointed with the entire experience.
Great special course for Valentine’s Day. Cool location and good drinks
I went there with my girlfriend and our waitress was very rude and treated us as if we were uncoth and didnt belong. She was very disrepect when we just wanted to have a good night for Valentines day. She was very unhelpful and the waitstaff sat us in the corner in the back when there were plenty of great tables in front of us. I asked about one of the booths that I saw open and the hostess said it was for an earlier reservation. To my understanding if a reservation doesnt show up on time you do not make the people whi showed up on time to thier reservation wait. I was appalled by the staff and the way I was treated and wouldnt recommend anyone to visit hear.
Valentine's Day menu and wine pairings were excellent. Wonderful, friendly service as always. Made our V-Day and 40-year celebration special!
This was our first time to visit Oak, and we happened to be celebrating the anniversary of our first date 9 years ago. Everyone at Oak made the evening very special, even giving us an anniversary card! The food was outstanding (risotto was out of this world) and the service was great. Very nice ambiance! We will be back!
We had a great experience there. They have a diverse menu that's creative without being annoying and cryptic like lots of trendy restaurants. Hickory Smoked Vanilla Bean Ice cream on the brownie was super creative and sounded weird but was amazing.
We went there before a 7:30 concert and really enjoyed the place. Service was outstanding and the food was excellent. Perfect date night.
Wonderful all around. Oscar rules.
Oak is one of my wife's and my favorite restaurants in Dallas. We have frequently taken friends and family there. The food is excellent. The service is good and the ambience is perfect. Their wait staff is friendly and efficient. They always cooperates in getting us out on time if we have tickets for the theater or symphony after dinner.
Oak was terrific! We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. I don’t think you can get better service anywhere else, our server (Bruce) was on top of it and always with a smile on his face. Our food came quickly and was prepared perfectly. I had the Wild Salmon, it was very good, with a combination of grapefruit, lentils and a beet leaf! It sounds like a strange mix, but all the ingredients made it work impeccably. Great experience, we’ll be back soon.
Noel, our server, was so attentive. We never had to ask for anything- it's like he read our minds! Food (as always) was incredible. Great experience- will find a way to come again!
Good food. Great service. Very consistent
The best word to describe the experience is "incongruous." It's a beautiful space, but why is the music turned up loud and the lights up too bright? The tartare was good, but maybe the menu should have mentioned the beets they put in there that didn't quite work. I said out loud, "why does a place like this even have Louis XVIII on the menu?" Things just didn't match up. It's almost a great restaurant, but almost doesn't cut it when there are so many good options.
We had family in town and wanted to do something special.
Oak is one of the most attractive restaurants in Dallas. The wine list is exceptional and
waiter gave us good suggestions. The food was terrific. Really really good.
It is one of our best, "go to" places.
Had a great experience here. I'm always looking for new places to try when I visit Dallas. This was a gem. Great food, good cocktails (although they need to use Luxardo cherries in their Manhattans!) and a solid place for a nice dinner event for a team meeting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly be back. My branzino (sea bass) was excellent as were the Brussels sprouts and the lentil soup. Colleagues tried the pork chop and rib eye which also got solid reviews. Plenty of parking out back but valet was also available.
Amazing service in accommodating our group for a business meal!
I had a wonderful evening at Oak. I sat at the bar as I was dining alone and the bartender Cindy was amazing. Food was good and the atmosphere great. I definitely recommend this restaurant
pretty setting but food was all over the board. quality in no way matched the prices. mushroom risotto was terrible and the anchovies on the caesar were fishy overkill. beef filet steak was smoky and seasoned well. snapper was good but dirty rice was not. carrot cake was ok. service was pretty good.
Excellent Meal and Service. We are always impressed by the variety of options on the menu, some with seasonings or preparations that we are not that familiar with, but that turn out to be amazing choices. Trust the server recommendations and go for something a little different, although the familiar options are good too. Very good wine list including many options by the glass. And love the choice of fresh fruit for the water!
Dined at Oak on New Year's Eve. They had a fixed menu and ran out of one of the salads and one of the entrees. The portions were very small and took too long to arrive. I was still hungry after dinner.
Our reservation was at 9pm, we were seated at 9:40. Several booths were open, I asked for a booth they told me none were available. While waiting for a table we went to the bar to order a glass of wine. The bartenders ignored us (there were 6 people at the bar), finally we were able to grab their attention, we ordered and had to remind the bartender of our order 2-3 times. There only a few people at the bar. The food was great! But for the price and service it was not worth it.
Wonderful selection of appetizers and entrees. Comfortable and laid back environment. Amazing service.
The dining room is beautiful. Food was very good, service attentive.
Oak is a very consistent restaurant in the 4-star category. there is a reason they have been around for a while. the four of us kept saying, "we should come back here more often!"
It was outstanding, but the dessert disappointed me.
Really poor service. My water class wasn’t filled one time and there were only 5 other parties in the restaurant. Very disappointed.
Always a great experience!
Happy to try again after not being there in quite a while. Dining room is beautiful, staff attentive but not intrusive. Food was great, especially the quail appetizer, the mushrooms and the Brussels sprouts. Will be back.
Great dining experience, I run a fine dining restaurant and it’s welcoming to find such attentive service and chef forward food.
Thank you for everything!
