We recently dined at OAK on the Sat evening after Valentine's Day. In general it was good, but I had to send my dinner back as it had a sauce on the meat that was overly salty, not just a little bit, but to the point of being inedible. They took the meal back and I chose a totally different one. This one was better, but they didn't put any sauce at all on the meat and it ended up being pretty bland. My wife's venison dinner was wonderful and the chacuterie board was superb. A good selection of meats and cheeses. The wine list also leaned too heavily to the expensive side. Finding a red wine for under $60 was almost impossible. The noise level was also quite excessive.
Amazing and very accommodating
I was there for a special occasion and for the price point I expected much more. The food was underwhelming and the service was poor and we felt very rushed by our server.
We went for Valentine's Day dinner and the 5 course meal was fantastic! We added the wine pairing and that was the icing on the cake for the evening! Highly recommended for special events.
An expensive but quite enjoyable and satisfying Valentine’s Day dinner. we loved it. Nice atmosphere, excellent service, and great care was given to the fixed-price, five-course meal, including suggested wine or rum pairings for each course. A worthwhile choice for the most special of special occasions.
The food was fabulous! From the salad to the filet and the chocolate brownie was over the top! We celebrated a friends birthday there and found the food and service to be excellent! Loved the intimate ambience. Thank you fir a great evening! We will be back.
Amazing choices, there was a hiccup where one of the servers ran into my hand and knocked down all the drinks but it was cleaned up! Wasn’t offered anything for the inconvenience but that’s fine.
I made reservations for The Oak maybe a week before Valentines Day. I had looked on their menu prior to reserving a seat to make sure it wasn’t out of my price range and they had vegetarian options for my girlfriend. After seeing the menu, I decided it was a good place to go. HOWEVER, when we got there, they only brought us out one “valentines day” menu. There was a couple problems with this. The first, being that there was no truly vegetarian options. Everyone of the items you got to choose from for the main course, had meat. When I asked why, the waitress responded with “Oh well the first course is vegetarian. And we will just add more of that appetizer to your main meal” so no truly vegetarian options. Second, the “Valentines Day Menu” was at a prix fixe of $95! PER PERSON!!! Now, I know it’s an upscale restaurant, however no where on the website did it say that they were going to be having only that menu with a prix fixe for Valentine’s Day. In fact, I heard another couple ask if they had their regular menu. Restaurant is super classy with an amazing staff, however, they should’ve let people know that they were only having one menu that was going to be $100+ a person. Extremely unprofessional in that aspect and I was very disappointed.
Despite the restaurant not being busy the service was Extremely slow and the server very inattentive. Not very friendly. Food was ok but not great. Many better options in Dallas.
I am never disappointed when dining at Oak. I had the lamb this time and it was excellent!
Steak came out cold. Issue was partially corrected. No comp. manager visited table and apologized. Server stayed away. Otherwise food and service was great. Drinks were perfect.
Good in all categories
Amazing in all aspects! Here for the Apparel show and went to OAK two nights in a row.
Exceptional quality and service. Shout out to Chris, Anthony and Ed at the bar, as well as Tim, the wine guy!
One of the best time lists I have even seen.
Great flavors and exciting food. We ordered 8 to 10 items and i thought that baby arugula was overused, and the entrees could have been hotter. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and fantastic drinks. I would definitely go back
Fantastic! Ran and Jan.
Completely enjoyable dinner. Would highly recommend.
What a great treat for the neighborhood.
Truly a "Gem"
Food was fabulous
We hosted a 15 person business dinner and Oak really accommodated us! Food and service were excellent. Oscar was our server and did a fantastic job. Great atmosphere. Would recommend for business or personal dinners. Great wine list too.
This was our second time here. We still like it very much, and will return, but I didn’t like the dish I ordered nearly as much as the filet I got last time. I ordered the Branzino fish, and it was very dry and over cooked. There should have been a sauce on it; that would have helped. I also should have said something at the time, but I hate to be “that person” who complains, particularly since we were with another couple. The cream of mushroom soup, however, was delicious. The manager spent a long time chatting with us, which is always nice. We really like the ambience there, and it’s very nice to be able to have a conversation without screaming. I’ll just never order the fish again!
Everything tasted so good from the
We dined during an off time so the restaurant was not crowded. Consequently, it is difficult to judge noise level but we could converse with one another when we were there. The service was excellent. Unfortunately, the food was not comparable to the service. I really expected better and was disappointed.
Service was amazing! Food was delicious! I had the scallops and my husband had steak. It was very good. Desserts we tried weren’t my favorite but everything else we had was amazing. We’ll be going back!
This place has a very cool vibe! The menu offers unique dishes. However, upon receipt of our food many of us dining together commented that our food was only lukewarm. Hoping this was just an off night. Server did comp 1 meal so that was nice.
We had an amazing time!!! The food was great and the customer service was out of this world. The drinks were also awesome and I’m very picky when it comes to my drinks. So I recommend OAK; you will not be disappointed
Visited for our 2 year anniversary. I had the short rib wagu and she had a ribeye, with asparagus and mac and cheese. All damn good food. Server Garret guided us and did an amazing job. Worth the $200 tab.
We've been dining at Oak since it opened, and we have experienced a decline in the overall level of experience. Although it was New Year's Eve, we dined early, before the restaurant filled up (we assume it did). For that reason, we were very disappointed in the service, having to ask twice for items, having courses served too early, waiting too long for others, and having dirty plates left on our table for way too long, when several staff walked by (without plates or glasses in hand), looked at our table, and did nothing. My entree was delicious; my wife's was good but not great. Other courses were adequate. All far below what should be expected at this establishment.
Went with friends for NYE dinner. Great and friendly staff with good humor. They were helpful explaining everything. The food was amazing. Lobster appetizer and the duck were incredible. They definitely have me hooked for another visit soon!
Great experience The Christmas goose was delicious. the waitstaff excellent.
The noise level is high, and dining and bar are not separated for a little privacy between them. Service was good, but dinner was fair at best. I was not impressed..
Special pre-Christmas dinner with our adult children. The octopus appetizer was noteworthy. The short rib was especially good! A little pricey but worth it for the quality and for a special occasion.
We elected to try OAK for lunch based on reviews on Open Table. We thought the food was very average, but a bit overpriced. The wines by the glass were also quite expensive for the quality offered; all in all not a good value for us. The service was professional, and the room is interesting.
Amazing food and service. Can’t wait to return.
This was our second visit & the food was good, but the prices are high for what you get. The ambience is nice, but it’s more casual than their fine dining prices would suggest. The service was attentive- no issues there. We both went for the wine flight option - you pick 3 to try and you get a full glass of the one you like best. It was a nice way to try new wines. It’s a good place for groups. Definitely make a reservation if you’re going for weekend dinner.
I am so happy to see this restaurant thrive. I have been coming to this one for years. It is one of my favorites and it is never disappointing and always consistent on being out of the box for creativity and this time was no exception. The appetizer, the entree, the cocktails, the wine were all different in a fantastic way. The staff is exceptionally attentive in a great way. I will definitely go back and I recommend it highly for a great meal!
The atmosphere was very unique and well done from a design stand point. Seating was comfortable. The lighting was low light but localized so easy to see menus and each other. Our server was a professional with charm and excellent sensitivity. We were not in a hurry and never felt rushed to make up our minds before dinner or to leave when we through. The food was delicious, so much so that I wished the portions were a bit larger. I will be going back for another meal.
PS We celebrated my birthday there and got a big surprise at the conclusion of dinner. Wont spoil it for others, but let them know if your are there for a special occasion.
Truly, one of the best meals I've had in a long time. From start to finish, really great!
While the food was wonderful, I felt it was a bit overpriced. Additionally, our waiter was incredibly difficult to understand; he talked so fast it was hard to keep up with him (and this is coming from a New Yorker).
Pleasant enough, but probably not going to return.
Absolutely outstanding service and food. It is pricey but you are getting what you pay for, which is a top notch dining experience.
We tried Oak for the first time for my husband's birthday this year and were absolutely blown away. The staff was attentive and kind and the food and cocktails amazing. We can't wait to go back!
