Oak Barrel Public House
Oak barrel was great. Staff accommodated my guest appropriately. The food was very tasty. The cleanliness overall was outstanding. Will be returning soon!
We got the cheese curds, Mac n cheese pizza, and the fish fry - it was all delicious! Wonderful server as well.
We dined outdoors on a nice November evening. The heaters were on and it was very comfortable. The tables were separated by plexiglass and it felt safe. The service was very friendly
One of our all time favorites! Service and food are always spot on. The bacon popcorn is a must and my new go to is the Milwaukee Cheesesteak. I've booked a private party there too and they were the best people to work with. Bobby and his staff really know how to make you feel at home and take care of you like friends and family.
We sat on the heated patio. Very nice! Enjoyed everything about it!
Owner was nice. Majority of the wait staff was rude and the food was subpar. Otherwise good atmosphere for drinks and sports.
The drinks were amazing and our server had excellent recommendations! Thanks, Ashley!
The food was sub par, the server was AWFUL and I found 3 bugs in my drink. No apology from the server. She took it, brought a new one and said if I found anymore bugs it was that they flew in on the way from the bar to the table because she opened a new bottle of bourbon! The waitress took everyone's food order except mine and walked away. Then she returned because she forgot something and I said my order hadn't been taken. The PB&J was an overpriced basic McDonald's sort of burger with about the size of a quarter worth of jelly spread on the top piece of bread. My friends and I looked at it and laughed. When it came to check time, the drink had been charged to my tab (with no apology and no thought to comp it). My friend's check was handed to her and then the server comes back with a different check saying she'd forgotten to add a drink! When I mentioned I was surprised my drink had not been comped given the 3 bugs, she rudely pulled the check said she'd comp it, ignored my other friend trying to hand her her payment and walked away. I have already warned other friends to stay away from this mediocre joint. That server shouldn't be working a job that requires customer service of any kind.
Love the fried bacon and bowls. Been to Milwaukee twice and visited Oak Barrel both times!
Excellent atmosphere if you’re looking for a bar atmosphere and we were. Everybody in our party of 8 was very happy with their meal. Service was great. Our waitress was very fun and respectful. Will definitely go back.
Love Oak Barrel! They have the best food, good drink deals, and a wonderful staff!!
We love the bottomless mimosas and bloodys. Can’t wait until they bring back the brunch menu!
Great experience! They made me feel safe eating there in the first week of re-opening. All the food was delicious and the beer selection excellent. I really appreciated the helpful staff and the friendly atmosphere.
Our only complaint was slow service. Otherwise a positive experience. The food was good for the price, especially a block away from FiServ. I’d go back.
Food was subpar. Won’t be going back.
Service was inadequate despite it not being a terribly busy Friday night. We had to ask to have water refilled and to get new drinks. Even when the server came around to check on us, he never asked if we needed another drink. Much later in our meal he finally did start asking, but we were done drinking by then. Food was overall pretty good, especially the mac.
Went before show at PAC. Seated immediately and server prompt. Food was very good and fast out of the kitchen.
They have really yummy sweet potato fries! I also appreciate that they have gluten free bread available. I really enjoyed the italian beef. Spicy! Hard to find street parking when there is an event at the Fiserv Forum. Leave extra time. There are a couple of garages within a couple of blocks. Happening neighborhood!
Our reservation was for 5:45 as we had to be somewhere by 7:30. We did not get our food until 7:10 and only had time to take a few bites before having to leave. Also, the beer menu was very out of date as most of what we tried ordering was no longer available. While the food we managed to eat before having to leave was good, our experience was overall disappointing.
Food was pretty good, but the service was fairly slow, which I kinda expected on a Friday night.
We arrived a bit early for our reservation and were promptly seated. As the restaurant got busier our waitress seemed more & more overwhelmed. she never placed an order for my 2nd drink (it was comped because my sister ended up going to the bar to check on it herself & they made it on the spot). Had wings & pretzel sticks as appetizers. Fish fry breading was tasty but not crispy. Mac & cheese + bacon was awesome. Made to order burger was good, too. My husband was not a fan of the pulled bacon grilled cheese...he felt it was underwhelming. No room for dessert!!
Brought some customers here prior to the Bucks game. It was a big hit!! Great food, great location. One of my guests required a gluten free option. They had multiple, he went with the pizza and loved it. I would definitely go back.
The food, service and ambiance were all very good. Everyone enjoyed their food which consisted of pizzas, shrimp po boy and burgers. It was a bit loud in the restaurant to hear across a table of six. But would definitely return.
Our server, I believe her name was Lauren, was AWESOME. The food was fantastic and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!
Great food, service, location and ambiance. Our server Tyler was fantastic!!! Took our 11 and 14 year old there before the Bucks game.
Food was perfect, our server was attentive and the drinks were delicious
Paul was amazing. Very accommodating. Really appreciate it
Complimentary popcorn given when first seated. Popped in bacon fat. It was outstanding! I had the Korean beef bowl with rice. Very good! Happy hour from 3-6. Miller lite on tap was $3
Appetizers, salads, entrees were good. The Wine I wanted a was not available. The only Sauvigon Blanc offered is bottle only, nothing by the glass. Ordered a bottle, and they were out. Server was marginal at best. The reason overall for the poor rating was the condition of the desert we ordered. It was served with a foul smell, almost chemical. It left a horrible taste in my mouth and when I addressed this with the server and the manager, their response was wholly unsatisfactory lacking empathy and apology. For this reason, I will not return to the Oak Barrel Public House and cannot recommend.
Avocado toast was lacking avocado. Other entrees our table ordered were good.
Loved it! Bacon popcorn was the best munchie ever and our food was very good.
Made business dinner reservations and showed up to a “sorry we are closed today for scheduled maintenance” sign on the door. Not cool.
Food was just ok. Fish was cooked properly, but desperately underseasoned. Other items unremarkable. Bacon tacos were a hit.
Server didn't know daily soup - said she'd find out, but had to ask a second time. Finally informed us after the entrees arrived.
Good burgers , good atmospheter
FIrst time at Oak Barrel Public House.
Selected it because of more unique menu than other restaurants in the area.
Thoroughly enjoyed shrimp tacos: very flavorful combination of shrimp, pepper, mango
drinks were moderately priced.
This was our 3rd visit, all before basketball games. In the first visit the service was slow and my wife was given the wrong mea, but the food was good. We tried again and had much better service and again, a good meal. Last night we had a party of six. We ordered cheese curds that were excellent, but we waited about 40 minutes for our over-cooked burgers to arrive. To end the night, the waitress dropped off the bill but kept ignoring us and did not pick up my card, so we had to walk up to the bar ourselves to pay. There are too many good places to eat near the FiServ Forum. I will not be back.
Really great food at a reasonable price.
My son’s favorite is the bacon popcorn!
Loved the old cream city brick. Nice pub ambiance. Food and service was good! Fun area of town as well.
Our first two entrees were unavailable that night. My food was brought out first and we had to call someone over to check on my wife's entree. Table next to us had a bad experience involving the manager. Guests next to us are regulars here and said they normally had a very good experience so maybe the kitchen just had an off-night. Our server was good and the atmosphere is well done.
