I had a reservation for five at Oak Barrel on a Friday afternoon. We chose it because it was just a short nine-minute walk from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the atmosphere looked interesting and fun. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with no onions and added avocado. It arrived with onions, no avocado, and completely dry--there wasn't a condiment on it. I asked the waitress for a side of mayo after the meal came. *It wasn't noted on the menu that it didn't come with a condiment already on it. The coleslaw I chose as a side was good. Two people in our group ordered the fish fry and said the fish itself was tasty, but both received coleslaw that was rancid and tasted awful. Another friend had a burger and fries, but the fries arrived cold and had to be sent back to be remade. Between the incorrect order, missing ingredients, cold fries, and spoiled coleslaw, it was a disappointing visit. Based on this experience, I wouldn't return.

Overrated. The menu lists a speciality pancake feature. Ask your server. They didn’t have one the Sunday we were there. They lust a chef special avocado toast. Not today. I then tried to order the poutine. Standard menu item. Not available. Out of cheese curds. How does a downtown Milwaukee restaurant not have cheese curds at 11am on a Sunday brunch. And charge $18 for the poutine. The pretzels sticks were way over salted. And the béchamel cheese sauce was awful. Service was ok. There were 4 of us. They brought the pretzel sticks to share. But no plates. I had to get them myself. Service 101. Had to ask for more coffee. Not offered. Won’t recommend & wont go back. Very disappointing.

Was nice place, dark though and then they turned down what light they did have on. Made it hard to read the menu. portions were small. ordered a bacon on bacon BLT and there was very, very little bacon. Used bread not suitable for the sandwhich. Cheese curds were good.

Nice and clean casual atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and truly seemed to enjoy working there. The service was quick but everyone was pleasant, took time with customers, and smiling. Nice menu of specialty cocktails also.

We went there for Sunday brunch. The music was blaring in spite of the empty restaurant. Walking us to our table there was a spill on the floor the waiter had us go around, during our time there it never got cleaned up! I ordered the Elote Toast, it had minimal avocado spread and the elote was just corn, not real elote. The side of sausage was over cooked brown and serve. My husbands liked his Philly bowl, potato’s were good with good seasoning. In spite of the pretty empty restaurant, we had to waive down our waiter for refills on beverages twice. He was super friendly.

Great cheese curds!! Other food is typical bar food but it was good, no complaints. The only confusion was the menu or menus. Looking online there was one menu, then when we got to the restaurant we were given a smaller menu and we also seen the table next to us get a different bigger menu. Had 3 meals, a drink and an appetizer, $80 and the food was good.

Menu listed here and on website very different from actual menu at the restaurant. I ordered the macaroni and cheese and was disappointed, it had an odd flavor. Also, two drink items I had ordered from the drink list were unavailable as they did have the ingredients to make them . Beware of the additional fee added to the bill. The popcorn was very good

Food was great! Service was great! Love the vibe of the place! We were seated on the third floor. Highly recommend the cheese curds and BBQ chicken pizza!
