Oak + Rowan
Symbolism of Rowan: Power, Vision, Mystery
These attributes struck a chord with Restaurateur Nancy Batista Caswell when she discovered 321 A St. Oak + Rowan, a 150-seat restaurant nestled in Boston’s historic Fort Point Channel, reminded Caswell of the lofty tree tops and youthful excitement of a tree house. The menu celebrates all things land + sea; with an emphasis on prime steak, locally sourced fish and oysters, sustainable caviar, handmade pasta and alluring desserts. All of this is executed to tell the story of our farmers, artisans, foragers and winemakers in a very personal way. We invite you to dine with us in a space embellished with distinct lighting, a sleek 22-seat bar and 2 private dining rooms, all secure under lofty ceilings reminiscent of those childhood tree houses. Our commitment at Oak + Rowan is to provide a atmosphere unlike no other, just as if we invited you into our home.

the food was excellent. The waitress was beyond good
Oak & Rowan is a “hidden gem” in the Seaport/Ft. Point neighborhood. Excellent food and craft cocktails. I always enjoy the bartenders’ seasonal s specials. Warm ambiance and great service. I like trying several different small plates for my meal. The scallion pancake with caviar that I tasted in my most recent visit was out of this world! My husband and I live in Seaport and Oak & Rowan I one of our top two favorites.
I enjoyed the menu, ambiance and service. The deserts don’t sound good on paper but they are fabulous.
Josh the server is amazing
Usually love the place but it was totally dead the last time we were here. Maybe COVID but there were only two people working, it was strange.
So happy to have found this gem of a restaurant! I specifically came in for the tagliatelle that I had seen on the menu online. When I told our server that was our reason for coming she informed us that it was switched out for another pasta dish, but she would ask the kitchen if they could make it. Thankfully they still had the ingredients, and it was such an amazing dish. I truly appreciate a restaurant that goes above and beyond, it’s the little things. We also got the ricotta agnolotti which was superb! And for dessert we got both the olive oil cake and the panna cotta…the olive oil cake was definitely my favorite! I can’t wait to come back again to try another season menu!!
excellent with unusual food items that were uniquely prepared
We went for their New Years Eve fixed menu dinner with wine pairing and it was wonderful! Great service and delicious food!
Overall we had a lovely time! The server was extremely friendly and answered any of our questions! The food was also very tasty as well. We had a party of 9 and felt like we had our own secluded room which was awesome. Since we went for NYE, there was a prix fixe menu for $85. The whole table was very disappointed in the portion sizes considering how much we paid for the meal. One of my friends mentioned how cold each meal was that came out to her and another could barely finish his meal. He ordered the medium rare beef tenderloin and it was definitely rare rare- not sure if it really ever touched a grill. Everyone agreed that the desserts were our least favorite dish of the evening which was disappointing since that was what we all were looking forward to the most. I enjoyed my appetizer as well as my main course though and so did several others at the table. I also enjoyed the gin drink that they had on the menu. $271/couple later, I’m not sure I’d say it was worth it for a night out on NYE. I would go back for an alternative night however!
Getting service was like pulling teeth. We were there for nearly 3 hours, mostly waiting waiting waiting. They made a complicated deal about discussing our eating restrictions then served us an ingredient we couldn’t eat. Too effortful. But food was delicious.
Food is creative and delicious, service is always outstanding here! Brussel sprouts, Wagyu tri tip, rye sourdough, prawns and fish stew were especially good. Great beer, wine and cocktail selections. We had a person in our party who wanted to be careful about COVID and Cassandra the GM honored our request to be seated away from anyone else and near a window. In fact, patrons were well-separated and staff was fully masked, so it was obvious they O+R were being careful and respectful. Our waitress Julie was funny and right on top of everything. Cassandra even chased outside on a chilly night to with a glove we had dropped! Great outdoor seating here in the summer, too.
First time dining at Oak & Rowen…. Fantastic service !! Food was incredible, drinks where tasty , would definitely recommend !
The thought put into creating each dish was clearly apparent, as the presentation was great. The food was all tasty, especially the Wild Black Bass. Managers were very hospitable and considerate. Dishes are a bit small for the price, but would definitely come back if I were in the Seaport!
Love the food, service fabulous and atmosphere perfect!!!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Oak & Rowan. Service was excellent and attentive. They were very accommodating to food allergy concerns and gladly made substitutions. Always happy to see a menu with locally sourced foods and the flavor combinations did not disappoint!
Our waiter Josh was so personable and attentive. The food was delicious too, which is an obvious win! Will definitely be back.
Love this place!
Food was excellent but served at too cool a temperature.
Really delicious and overall great dinner. Service was outstanding, drinks were very good.
Lives up to it's reviews - food, service and ambiance are top-notch. Highly recommended.
Went with another couple and all of us were extremely happy with the experience. Casual feel to the restaurant made the evening feel very comfortable. All food (apps, entrees, desserts) were outstanding. Cocktails were also perfect. Server seemed new but didn't take away from the experience.
We were looking for an early dinner and we’re thankful that they had reservations available. No other restaurants in the Seaport were only accepting reservations after 9.
Have been there before and enjoyed my appetizers that served as my meal.
Been there once before covid& was very pleased.
Totally rushed and left after 45 min.
Food ehh and beyond small portions.
Will not return.
We had an excellent date night out here, brought our infant daughter too. Very accommodating and the food was excellent. We had the chicken liver mousse, Bavarian pretzels, lobster Buccatini, and Quail dish. Everything was superb, paired well and staff was exceptionally great. Probably our new favorite!!
Another wonderful experience at Oak + Rowan. Randy and Sarah worked the bar efficiently and the drinks and food (they're on the Late Fall menu) were delicious. We had the sourdough, bay scallops, pretzel bites, tagliatelle, and short rib! We may have to go back soon before they change up the seasonal menu!
Highly recommend... staff, service and food was excellent.
Absolutely love everything about the experience at Oak and Rowan.
Amazing dining experience, food was incredible and unique from appetizers to dessert. Also Oak + Rowan has the best wait staff we have ever encountered.
One of my favorite restaurants.
Restaurant had nice vibe - felt very safe. Food was awesome
Oak + Rowan is the place to be. Started the night with the Mezcal cocktail which couldn’t be smoother and the squash soup that left me wishing I could ask for seconds. The main was a lobster bucatini that did not disappoint. The fresh pasta complemented the lobster and the coconut broth bought just enough flavor without taking the focus away from the star of the show. The night ended with port wine sticky pudding that was the perfect cap to a wonderful and unforgettable night at the Oak + Rowan.
The restaurant is beautiful, the ambiance is great for a date night. We sat at the bar and had a few appetizers, the food was ok. The service was not great, the bartender made some rude comments.
We would try it one more time because the setting was so nice.
Very tasty food, the flavors are immaculate. The seared halibut was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. The downside is that the portions are on the small side.
Went to Oak + Rowan for my daughters 30th birthday. The overall experience was exceptional. The hostess was greeted us with a smile (under the mask!), wished my daughter happy birthday and sat us at a very nice table. The waiter was very knowledgeable and made very good recommendations for each course which we followed and were not disappointed! Overall, I highly recommend and will be back. Thank you!
I had a wonderful time at Oak and Rowan!! Great food and drinks and good vibes of course!
Loved the experience, first time going here - our waiter was terrific, gave us great recommendations and pairings and also allowed us to chat him up about the restaurant. Food was really really good too. Highly recommend.
What a find in the seaport!. It was perfect to order a few small plates and share. Food and service were exceptional.
Overall great experience! Food, service, and cocktails were all very good. Would definitely come here again!
We were sat 20 minutes after our reservation time, and did not get food until we had been seated for 2 hours. We had to shout to try to hear each other over the blasting music and were chastised for trying to turn it down - dining here was a nightmare. Avoid.
This restaurant was a total surprise. The food was great. I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended
