About Oak and Almond
Oak and almond wood fuels our wood burning oven and stove. Imparting an earthy quality to many of our menu items, these hardwoods are at the heart of our restaurant's philosophy.
With cuisine inspired by the traditions & techniques of yesteryear, our philosophy is simple: provide delicious handcrafted food, created with well sourced seasonal ingredients with a focus on hearth & flame, Organic Farm to Table. We source the best artesian ingredients and prepare them simply with respect. The wine program highlights biodynamic and organic selections, which compliment the simple integrity of our menu.
An 18 foot communal table, crafted from local 100 year old oak floorboards anchors the dining room. Hand-rubbed walnut tables, industrial fixtures, and an open kitchen featuring a wood burning oven and stove provide a modern yet warm dining experience.

Oak and Almond Ratings and Reviews
It was my birthday. They were told during the reservation it was a special occasion, but no cake :/. Our server was good in the beginning, but his attention to us faded as the night went on. By the time we needed our check, he was no where to be found. I was really disappointed in his service to us, especially when we had great service a few weeks earlier there. The food was great! We really enjoyed ourselves otherwise.
the food was outstanding. the service not so much. after being brought our original bottle of water we were never offered another drunk or more water. left with empty glasses. we had to ask other waitstaff to find our waitress for us when we were done eating. lots and lots of waiting such that i was getting a bit irritable. if the food had not been so strikingly good i would not have recommended. Physical atmosphere was pleasant
Went here for Saturday brunch with a few friends and we had a great experience. The eggs Benedict are seriously the best ones I've ever had and their homemade bread that they bring to your table at the start had everyone raving. I've also been here for dinner before and it was great as well.
I love this place as the food is always great.
I’ve been here 1-2 times a week for various meetings.
It’s one of my favorite places actually. I was a bit disappointed that the octopus was a little on the not enough for the price side. Maybe they were low. But is a great place for pastas and flat breads
In my humble opinion, Oak & Almond is a high end neighborhood restaurant. I'm glad it's there where my wife and I can dine when the normal run of the mill will not cut it!
We dined there for an early New Year's Eve dinner. Very enjoyable setting, dinner. Would recommend it!
We had never been to this restaurant so thought we would give it a try. In my open table reservation special notation was made that a quiet table was necessary. I included my email address just in case.
Upon arrival we found the two hostesses in a spirited conversation with their backs to us. We waited and finally ask if we could get some help. I explained my open table reservation and request and was promptly told that special requests cannot always be fulfilled. After I pretty much insisted on a quiet table we were told the only table available was in a corner of the loud and boisterous dining room. This room was one of many rooms with open tables but somehow the hostess insisted we sit at this specific table. When things got difficult a youn man interceded and explain of course we could have a quiet table and he led us to a quiet pleasant corner table in a smaller room. Note we were not alone in this room and there were several other tables in this same room that were open and available.
Based on the experience we had I would be hesitant to suggest this restaurant to friends.
The hostess mess really put a shadow on the evening. You are only as good as your weakest link and inattentive hostesses are the first customer contact and thus they best be well versed and flexible and able to offer alternatives. I have to ask for quiet tables as my spouse has had a series of strokes and excessive noise/sound are very upsetting to him. Food was wonderful. And plentiful. Experience was not so good.
I had eaten lunch at Oak and Almond, but had never gone for dinner. Will definitely go again. Four people ordered four different dishes (chicken, steak, and two different fish dishes), and everyone was raving about their entree, as well as the ambience. This restaurant is a (somewhat hidden) gem.
Drove from NJ just to have their amazing roasted chicken and potatoes. I get there and it’s mid afternoon about 1:30 PM and the waiter and chef accommodated me wanting an item that was from the diner menu. The waiter who previously assisted us on our last visit was very kind and actually remembered my spouse and I. This is just such an amazing place and it was worth the drive and the price as well. Will visit again for sure!
Very disappointing second visit. We had really enjoyed a previous visit on a Saturday evening. But the food was not good on our recent Sunday evening visit. Maybe Sunday evening is a bad time to visit this restaurant. I ordered the special pork chops both times. It was delicious the first time and came with a fresh veggie side. On Sunday, the chops were chewy and came with sodium laced white beans, that tasted like they were warmed up from a can. Also did not like the bourbon pecan pie, I have had better pecan pies from shop and stop.
Our visit to Oak and Almond got off to a very rough start after a server had not shown up approx. 15 minutes after we had been seated. I walked up to the hostess desk and asked if they could see about getting us service. Instead of doing this, the hostess walked up to the table a couple of minutes later and basically questioned how we got to the table and if we even had a reservation. Naturally we had a reservation and her coworker seated us and gave us menus so I did not like her accusatory nature and tone. Instead she should have come up to us and asked nicely and said she was trying to figure out what happened. The manager sorted the issue and he then made sure we were served correctly...even though the overall service from the waiter left a lot to be desired. Service issues aside, the food was very good so we will give them another chance to get the entire experience right next time.
