The visit was fantastic. The food, especially the rock shrimp, was excellent. The server did a great job, and the manager, Paul, stopped to ask about our meal. He was very personable and sincere. We will come back!

We came in without expectations for our wedding anniversary. We had a great service with amazing recommendations and when we mentioned we were commemorating a special occasion they surprised us with an amazing dessert. It became our favorite sushi place!

We had to wait a few minutes beyond our reservation time as they cleaned up a table, which wasn’t a big deal at all, but the hostess had champagne sent to our table as an apology/thanks for waiting. Little things like that, something they definitely didn’t have to do but chose to do, make such the difference in service. Couple that with EXCELLENT cocktails, food, and wait service, and I will be telling everyone I know to go to O-Ku!

The hostess was attentive and lovely. We got seated right by the kitchen, I know its about server rotation but if the restaurant is empty probably don't want to sit at the poor table first, just something training could fix. Our waiter was very nice and came right over. The drinks were well made. The food is where it just is not great. I had the salmon, which was overcooked and some rice mixture, that was sticky and tasteless. I asked for some soy sauce because it was so dry I had to do something. The ladies I was with had bowls and the portion was large and it was "fine". It was not bad or delicious, it was fine. We had a nice time. The dessert was yummy. The waiter let us chat and hang out, the price was high and that is why I probably wont go again. It wasnt bad, but it was not good enough to spend money on that meal. I hope they raise up the level of the food.

My girlfriend and I came here for the first time on our first date and returned for the second time to celebrate our anniversary. It was just as good as I remembered. We tried a few menu items that we hadn’t gotten before and it was all phenomenal! Service was excellent! Ambiance was intimate! Such a lovely restaurant!

What a wonderful dinner experience in Raleigh! The servers (Emily and Sarah) were both incredibly knowledgable and gave good advice regarding both sake choices and menu options. The degree to which they understood the differentiation among wasabi sources was incredible. We were happily upsold to the $10 original wasabi root shavings and were NOT disappointed! The sushi was also amazing. And as diners coming form NYC, we have a somewhat discerning palate. Given that, we would still place this sushi dining experience amongst our favorites: for the quality of the sushi, the inventiveness of the offerings, and the quality and knowledgeable service - this place is a gem in Raleigh! Heck, this place is a gem, PERIODl! Ask for Emily or Sarah and you'll get the BEST service this side of the Mason-Dixon line!
