I can’t recommend O-Ku highly enough. The place had a modern elegance to it — the perfect combo of hip, edgy, and chill. The staff must be in tip top shape because they didn’t just go the extra mile for us, they ran a marathon and provided a 7/5 experience! Ashley was well informed and was super awesome! They truly made my wife’s and my anniversary special. The nigiri and sashimi platters were fantastic. The spirit cleanser (cocktail) was crisp and complimented the sushi very well. The cloud nine was rich yet balanced. We left the restaurant with very happy bellies!

I was expecting a lot more from the sushi menu. Our tempura shrimp might have shared the one shrimp between the whole dish, was mostly a rice roll. The dim sum was terrific though, drinks and service good , rooftop bar very nice.

We were celebrating a birthday and this place didn’t disappoint. Our server was very gracious and patient as this was our first time at O-Ku. He explained the food was a tapas format and answered all our questions. The chef gifted our birthday friend with an appetizer which was very unexpected but a fabulous start to the evening. We ordered far too many plates to mention all of them. All were delicious, fresh, and on point but the Blazing Saddles, Firecracker, and the Rising Sun makis were the standouts for us.

We had the best experience last night. Dustin was our server and he provided superior service. We really appreciated all of his recommendations and explanation of the menu. He was fun and joked around with us too which was nice. I definitely recommend this for a friends get together, a special occasion and of course date night. The ambience & vibes are perfect!

I love this restaurant. Been here many times. Great service and delicious food. Unfortunately on this visit, the noise level was overwhelming. The music was so loud inside and the roof top. My phone kept signaling an alert that noise level was over 80 decibels. It was not enjoyable at all.

We sat upstairs on the rooftop deck. It’s a beautiful view, although there is construction. The food is fantastic. There was a strange salty bite amongst a bunch of really wonderful things. The wine selection is much more interesting than most of Jax. The service is very good. If anything, I would say, the dishes are not super consistent. Sometimes the same dishes better than other days. But overall, a good experience.

First time dining at O-Ku and was amazed at the quality of the sushi. Excellent service and a fun atmospheric vibe. We are from the NYC area and this was as good if not better than what we get in NYC. We will definitely be back!!

First time trying O’ku since it opened. They seem to be going for a trendy vibe you would see in Miami or similar. But you still get people in gym clothes being in the heart of Jax Beach. The sushi and food itself were great. Flavors and fish options you will not find at any typical sushi restaurant. Service was great. Our server, Taylor, was really good and helpful with any menu questions. They also have floaters who keep your waters filled and take away any plates to keep your table clean. One downside was it was well over an hour before we saw our entrées, which was 3 sushi rolls total. My opinion is if they are booked out every weekend, the kitchen should be able to keep up with the demand of a full restaurant for the price point you are paying. But this wasn’t enough to keep me from coming back. I’d like to try again, maybe right when they open and utilize their rooftop bar/tables. Overall, cool spot.

Please tell me that everyone is not just impressed by the choice of lemon, lime or cucumber in their water glass. The ambiance is great, and the vibe is upbeat however, it comes down to do you want great food or great atmosphere? I prefer great food. Dumplings so over cooked! Sushi falling apart as were picking it up. Braised short rib, zero flavor and vegetables still rock hard. Chicken teriyaki vey forgettable. When I looked at the Sushi staff that told me everything. My husband renamed it No-Ku.

We were celebrating our anniversary and had an amazing time. Our server Mel recommended everything we ate and we were not disappointed. I’m big on customer service and picky so when I tell you this dining experience was up to par, I mean it. She was knowledgeable, polite, considerate of my allergies and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. Highly recommend. Ask for Mel if you want a top notch server! We look forward to our next visit. Buen Provecho!!! ;)

Like OKU and chef very accommodating to our vegan needs every time we eat there. I felt the cocktails were a rip off for the amount they put in the glass so will stick with beer. Love the Tofu🏅

My husband and I had an early dinner at O-ku. We were seated at an upstairs outdoor table as requested. The setting by the ocean is relaxing and Gabby provided expert service throughout the meal. She made recommendations many of which we followed and offered complimentary tastes of the sakes before I made my choice. We split the seaweed salad to start and then split the $50 sashimi plate (14 pieces). The variety of fish was chef’s choice and all were delicious. But $50 seemed steep for 14 pieces, even given the excellent quality. We finished up by ordering the Fuego roll which featured spicy tuna and yellowtail. It too was delicious. Although pricey, we will return for the outstanding quality of the food, service, and ambiance.
