   Had a reservation for 10 PM for our anniversary, first, we waited at the front door standing for roughly 10 minutes until we were seated. As we sat down the host asked if we wanted bottle or regular water, we insisted on bottle and we received disgusting tapwater. We proceeded to order appetizers, edamame beans, as well as miso soup, the waitress brought it out and stated this was the bottom of the pot of miso soup. Let me know if you don’t like it it… was the saltiest most disgusting soup I have ever had. The edamame beans were dry and horrible as well. We ordered roughly 3 rolls and as I took the first bite, I noticed that the rice was old in the sushi was very unpleasant. We told the waiter that we were unhappy and we insisted on leaving as we did not eat anything this ruined our total night for our anniversary.It was almost 11 o’clock and every other restaurant was closed, so total fail on the anniversary dinner thanks to this restaurant. We drove all the way from lake Norman for a good experience and it was a total fail. Horrible experience do not recommended.

   Food was excellent. Service was top notch. This was one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve been to

   We had an amazing experience here! Took my 13 year-old daughter for her birthday. They asked ahead of time what she was interested in and they provided her with a personalized gift. We were shocked at the time, attention, and thoughtfulness that went into preparing for her arrival. The service was absolutely amazing and that food was of course perfect!

   Awesome sushi and great service. This place is a favorite to bring out of town guests visiting Charlotte.

   Meh. Was fine, not special. Took forever, like 45 min for rolls to come out at 9:30pm. So dark it's comical.

    Overall disappointing. This restaurant is ranked in the top 100. First impression walking in was it is very very loud. I understand it’s in a historic building, but being ranked in the top 100 of the US comes with expectations. Waiter asked questions, ie what brings you in? Where are you from? But then didn’t listen to the answers. He was as inattentive to our understanding of the menu. A couple of the items we ordered foie gras and A-5 were what I expected and they were excellent, some of the best bites I’ve had. The sushi roll was also very good. The lobster teppanyaki was not very good at all. Many bites of the oyster mushrooms were tough and inedible the presentation of each dish was beautiful and as I expected. Dessert was Sata Andagi an Okinawan style donut hole served with miso Carmel. It was a very interesting taste profile that we enjoyed. We waited over 30 minutes for our dessert and the server apologized and we weren’t charged. Overall underwhelming and disappointing.
