Great food, but the service was a little odd. The servants were very busy to remove our plates from the table - before we finished the meals. It felt like they tried to push us to get done faster. And also the servant asked us whether we wanted tap, bottled or sparkling water. We ordered bottled and sparkling, so everyone at the table got two glasses of water - one bottled and one sparkling 🤨. Along with drinks and wine - there were a lot of glasses on the table! Also, you have to do something about this smell in the restaurant!
I had a great evening with my date. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The food experience was exceptional.
Our experience at O-Ku was not good. The dishes that were recommended were not fresh. The seafood tasted old and very “seafoody.” We have eaten at O-Ku several times when they first opened their Atlanta location. However, we were very sad to come back a year later to find the quality had declined significantly. Please save your money and go to Eight Sushi down the street or Umi in Buckhead. This sushi uses old fish, and I was not good. When we told the waitress, she completely ignored our concern and rushed off. Not the level of service you would expect when spending good money for food.
when making a reservation it was unclear that the patio was first come, first serve. We decided to grab a table up top rather than be seated inside at our reservation time. it was a great evening, but maybe that could have been made clear when making the reservation. no big deal, we didn't have to wait long and all the food and drinks were delicious.
What was supposed to be dinner and drinks turned into just drinks after waiting over an hour and still not receiving our sushi rolls. We ended up cancelling our food since we were never warned of this wait BUT, the El Diablo cocktail was tasty as well as the miso soup. The ambiance combined with this gets them 3 start. There are sushi restaurants near by with much faster service but I plan to give them another try.
The service, as has always been our experience, was great. Our main hangup is the quality and portions of the sushi. All selections, salmon belly, cherry salmon, hamachi toro...were all very sanitized with no dynamics in flavor. Sashimi portions were very small, almost as though the preparation was intended to extend the fish farther into two servings. Don’t get me wrong, the sushi is clean, but not our desired sushi experience. Worth it for a few initial visits but likely won’t choose O-Ku for any future sushi cravings. Service was lovely and attentive, the food just fell a bit flat.
O-ku is my favorite sushi spot in Atlanta! Good atmosphere, good people, fresh sushi and reasonable pricing. Always bring people that are in town visiting and they are always impressed!
Excellent from start to finish. The lobster was amazing. Best Sushi in Atlanta and I have been to Tomo, Umi, and all the rest.
Half priced sushi for happy hour at a great restaurant.
This was our 2nd visit to O-ku, and we really enjoyed it. Favorite foods are the lobster hand roll appetizer and miso black cod - must try! Definitely recommend.
Perfect as always!
Food was good. Service was great. Will definitely go back!
Great experience! Food was fantastic, and our server Jasmine was top-notch!
O-Ku was O-mazing! We did the Omakase and everything was delicious! Service was great as well. Can’t wait to go back.
Met up with friends for a birthday celebration. We were seated right at the door. That’s wasn’t bad except the valet service is right outside and every time they brought a car around, the car lights were directly on us. It’s was dead bright beaming in our faces!! Very unpleasant. Was continuos because other eateries are right there so valet was nonstop. Maybe put shades or frost the door???
Otherwise, outstanding meal! Service was okay .... was a busy night!
I had made reservations via opentable. As most restaurants do, they called to confirm the reservation. They asked if it was a special occasion and i told them it was our 10 year anniversary. We arrived early and went to the bar. The bartender was so friendly and nice, she fixed us amazing cocktails. she came back over and said, i hear you are celebrating your 10 yr anniversary and congratulated us. We went to our table and had Wilson as our server. He was AMAZING. So friendly and wasnt rushing us out to flip the table. He even mentioned later on, that no hurry, the table is yours for the night. There were two managers on duty and they both stopped by to congratulate us. The food is always amazing and the sushi is top notch, but the service was just impeccable. Them congratulating us on a anniversary didnt cost them a thing, but it meant the world to us, that just a little bit of communication, goes a long way with the customer.
One of my favorite omakase experiences. Pleasant staff and nice atmosphere.
Service, food, and drinks were great per usual!
Very loud table of girls sitting across from us. Made the noise level even worse. Otherwise, I love the sushi at O-Ku.
The food is delicious but very pricey. I almost always leave hungry.
Excellent food, great ambience and wonderful service
Some of the best service in Atlanta !!
Really creative appetizers and rolls !!
Beautiful space!!!!! Great atmosphere and amazing food. Service was incredible also until we were given a free appetizer on the house and then later charged for it
The sushi tasted fresh and they have a great roll selection.
Excellent food, excellent service!
Sushi was fine but they mask the fish with a lot of different flavors...tons of truffle...if you are a purist this isn't the place for you. Interesting but we won't be going back.
Atmosphere and food presentation was good, however, the actual taste of the food wasn’t that great and way over priced. This kind of quality food can be found in typical Japanese restaurant with half of the price.
Excellent sushi place with reasonable prices and delicious drinks.
Best sushi in the city!! Hands down. Service is always fantastic! Fantastic sake selection. Crafted cocktails!! Love Love Love O-Ku!!! I always order the omakase and am never disappointed!
The service was phenomenal - very friendly and helpful staff. Great price for sashimi apps and yummy rolls for a meal! Valet right at the entrance is an extra plus. Would recommend to anyone!
The atmosphere is great. Have a cool Japanese whiskey (scotch like) menu that is cool at the bar. I was just not overwhelmed with the sushi or the offerings. This is an upscale place and I've had better sushi at much cheaper places, even up here in East Cobb. Wanted to love it, maybe I just hit them on an off night.
Some of the best sushi I've had in Atlanta.
Amazing and very beautiful
My husband and I went to o-ku for an impromptu dinner night. We have dined at o-ku previously and loved the Sushi! We ordered three rolls and one appetizer. All were delicious. The service was excellent as our water glasses and wine glasses were never empty. We had a wonderful night.
Sushi was great but the service was poor. We may give it another try because the sushi was absolutely delicious.
Wonderful selection of very creative sushi and sashimi. The otoro spoons were decadent, luxurious and delicious! The sea bass was heavenly. All the special rolls had unique twists of flavors and were exquisite!
Will be going back to indulge in omakase!
Went with family and friends, great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend, management is very attentive as well.
Food was great! The service was as good as the food. Awesome location with view of the city. Will go back for sure. Also during warmer weather for the rooftop.
Great food and service! We moved to the bar after dinner and the bar manager was amazing!
